Why to stop this trick ?
Largely because it is just that: a trick. It's also an edge case that highlights an issue with functionality.

Without it, the three new races are at least interesting enough, diverse enough, long enough, and pay out enough to be worth it in "intended" machinery. It means you need only drive about seven hours to earn enough to buy any car in the game, and you have choices, rather than running for dozens of hours and hundreds of repeats of a three-minute race.

I suspect there'll be some higher-value Gr.1-specific stuff coming later too.

I call this trick to be "tuning", part of the game ideea.
And, as I said, it's an edge case that highlights an issue with that functionality.

This particular "tuning" breaks the system intended to objectively measure car performance, by taking values to nonsensical extremes and exploiting the method by which PP is measured. That's the issue being addressed, not earning lots of money quickly by exploiting it.

PD isn't setting out to stop people from earning money twice as fast because it hates people earning money, but to address how the PP system can be exploited in order to improve functionality across the board - including in online races (if and when PP tuning races are allowed again).

Nobody tried sub 14' ? It should be possible everything perfect.

The race won't last long, soon it will be fixed.
I just broke the 18min (17:44) mark my last race and thought I was doing pretty good considering my first run was 19:46. No matter how quick I think I'm getting it never ceases to amaze me just how slow I actually am! Kudos on the (presumable) low 15min runs; I think it would give me a nose bleed from stress if I was whipping around the track, dodging cars at those speeds! lol

What are your fast laps? Think I've done 1:18x 2-3x and those felt nearly perfect to me.

I just did a 14:55 ... WITH TWO 5 SECOND PENALTIES!!!

I need to use the radar on the bottom right corner instead of my fuel level. Because of that I failed to notice cars on the track... twice... in the section where you turn left and then right immediately.
Pains even more that it was all in the last 3 laps... Could've been below 14:40...

Regardless, I can almost confirm that it's impossible to get below 14... With how fast I was going, even if I had a 14:40, that's still 40 seconds to cover, I can't tell where anyone would get 3 or 4 seconds per lap faster, I go flatout verywhere aside from the first and last corners, plus the traffic which is different every time and in some sections you have to slow down no matter what as there's sometimes a pack of cars covering the entire road.

Fastest lap was a 1:04.056 on this run, but I've hit 1:03 on some runs but that were overall slower.

Without the glitch it still pays great. It's just the old events that don't pay great.
No it doesn't.
Wow, PD has been nice to us? They didn't patch the Tomahawk glitch? Then I might as well try to improve my time on the race. I've been averaging 15:05 and 15:15 (mostly due to penalties) but I know a 14:30 is possible if I'm more brave in the some of the corners and just avoid those 5 sec penalties each time I hit a barrier.

Here's a vid of my best time so far (14:57), where some of you can see, I was very conservative on the 2nd, 4th/5th and 9th corners.

Do you have a different tune from your fist post in this thread? Your top speed is so much higher than mine. I top out at 515 and don't even reach it until I exit the tunnel. This is with DRS and a good exit.

There's a tune on the 2nd or 3rd page from someone who discovered a tune exploit with 2400hp. That's why the speed difference is greater.

Also, on the last 2 laps (if you saw the video) I changed from fuel economy 6 to 1, so I was at full power on those laps.

I don't recomend using boost and fuel level 1 all the way with the 2400hp tune as it drains fuel like nothing else.

In fact, I'm surprised that this car doesn't need to pit for fuel at all when it has a NA V10 producing 2400hp... If in 2035 we have these types of engines, I'm all for it.

I use fuel economy level 6 for 10 laps while using 7th gear most of the time and level 1 on the last 2 laps just to get a turbo lap in.

Nice time mate  and I am happy just doing this race in 20 minutes, and it's like going for a Sunday drive and listening to my favourite music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and some songs from the 2000s.

Found it. Thanks. 1:03's are possible with 1 pitstop.

So is this better than the previous setup with the VMax at 515kph? I’ve been using this setup… 18-19 mins total, 7th gear all the way and no pit stops.

I agree, I don't think sub 14 is possible. The best I can do also is in the 14mins,and that's taking some corners at 470km/h and 600km/h+ on the long straight. This is only possible with a 2300HP+ tune to reach those speeds and all the AI cars are bunched up together so you have a clear track ahead.
Full concentration and super stressful haha.

I follow the instructions for the gear ratios, mine still says is way too high (over 1000+)

Please help 😭 Would love to do this before it's patched out.

Jeez, animal! I'm finishing every race with at least 4 penalties if not more..

See the video on page 2 in this thread at post #14, and it's and easy to follow instruction on how to do it.

If you want to race the Tomahawk with full power and with either Intermediates, Racing Hards or Racing Softs use these settings that I Found.

Gears to use for all 3 settings

So, as many of you all are aware, there's a PP exploit in the game that allows the Tomahawk to have way less PP than it should.

All of this is possible with some tweaks to the Gears. I'll post it here below how the setup is, the credit goes to someone on the PSNProfiles GT7 Discord who posted the setups (can't remember the name of the guy):

PS:

To get the gear values (9.619 for first, 9.186 for 2nd and 8.673 for 3rd, just first of all, set the final gear to 5.130. After that MAX out the 3rd gear, then go to the 2nd gear and max it out as well, follow it doing the same for the 1st gear, then go to the 3rd gear again and you will notice that you got even higher values to max it out, keep doing this until you are within range of the 9000-8000 figures for those 3 gears, once you've done them you just need to select the correct values for the others).

And here below I'm showing you that it's possible to farm credits in the new WTC 600 Tokyo race with the Tomahawk in just below 16 minutes.
For those of you who are not used to the absolutely insane grip of the Tomahawk X, you are going to have a lot of trouble with this. The first time I did this race, I had at least 40 seconds in penalties alone due to crashing into the barriers because I just was not used to how fast this car could take those corners.

For the 1st Lap, you are going to be very careful in the 1st and last corner, especially the last corner where if you get too much on the throttle, you will definitely spin.
The 2nd lap will still be a bit wet so I advise you to drive carefully, but after the 3rd lap, you go pretty much flat out in any part of the track aside from the 1st and last corner (hairpin). Try to stay as much on the inside on the hairpin as possible because that's where the track is most dry, you simply touch anywhere else and you will slide and lose time.
Your 3rd lap you also have to be careful because you will encounter massive traffic.

Only got one 5 second penalty on this race below, the most challenging thing about this is just driving this car at maximum speed without getting penalties. My fastest lap was just a bit over 1:11. With the average being between 1:13 and 1:20 (traffic laps) and the first lap in the high 1:30s.

On the PS5, I take about 20 seconds to load between races, so this is 825.000 credits in about 16 minutes, which rounds it about to
~3.1 million per hour
.

This is likely going to be patched, so get up to speed and start farming this. :)

Thanks for the detailed post. I tried exactly the same and where it states PP I got an exclamation mark in a triangle instead of what yours states

Late to the party but thanks for this! Started last night will save up as much as possible before the next update then back to replaying wtc700 championship once gone lol

Nothing quite like getting a stupid penalty for barely doing anything, and then getting your engine blown out by the AI driver crashing into your rear 3 laps behind you. That's GT7 for ya lol

The 1:04's and 1:03's are pretty hard to get I must say. Need to push 100%. I ended up doing an average of 16 which is the same as the 515 km/h top speed set up lol. 5-15s penalties every lap.

I think if you go slow you can do 1:30 lap 1, 1:09 lap 2, 1:06 lap 6 and 1:25 whenever you're passing the mobile chicanes.

Thanks, nice settings but I need Inter/Medium in the same race.
I tried to tinker with it but I can't get it to work with Inter/Medium same setup.

You probably missed something, make sure the settings are exactly as it's shown in the post, actually, go to the previous page here and someone posted an even better setup with the car at full power.

1:30 on lap 1 and 1:09 on lap 2 are actually very fast times, in fact 1.09 is really hard on lap 2 since the track is still a bit wet.

You won't be doing anywhere near 1:06 on lap 3 because of the massive traffic, at this point the AI cars are still too close together and if you did lap 1 and lap 2 "fast" you will encounter them on the 1st corner.

I'm going to try a different strategy, going 100% (which eventually means I run out of fuel) but with 1 pitstop in the middle. i think the time lost in the pits is about 20 seconds? But with fuel economy on 1 I can get easily 3-4 seconds per lap quicker, which will compensate for the pitstop.

And will also try the new full power setup.

You have to set the main final drive first . The 6th 5th 4th after that it's set the rest and then exit , go back and reset the top 3 gears again, rinse repeat till they are done and you must have intermeditate tires fitted .
It works with Racing Hard tires as well:)

I tried this setup and went airborne coming out of the tunnel on the first straightaway! It was crazy! It's obviously due in part to the nose being so much higher than the rear, but I think it also was because I was using the DRS at full speed. Still, it was a bit of a shock. The upside it that is landed on all four wheels and kept going . . . .
