The 1300 is easier to drive and avoid penalties, I was at the end averaging 15:30 with it even with 1 or 2 penalties there.

But the potential you have with the 2400hp setups is definitely greater by a considerable margin (probably 1 minute faster).
Nice ! Could you link the setup ?

You can't be in fuel mode 1 all race with this setup as your fuel on the straight really goes out in smoke with 2400hp.

I do 6 until the 10th lap and 1 in the last 2 laps. I can maybe even use 1 earlier midway through the 10th lap to be as efficient as possible.

Thanks, will check this out.

Wow, PD has been nice to us? They didn't patch the Tomahawk glitch? Then I might as well try to improve my time on the race. I've been averaging 15:05 and 15:15 (mostly due to penalties) but I know a 14:30 is possible if I'm more brave in the some of the corners and just avoid those 5 sec penalties each time I hit a barrier.

Here's a vid of my best time so far (14:57), where some of you can see, I was very conservative on the 2nd, 4th/5th and 9th corners.
It's the karma lol :D

There have been a few laps I've done in some of the runs I've did where in the final 2 laps I set my fuel economy to 1 (max power) and have done laps in the 1:03s, it's as if I'm going back through time (cornering at 470kph)... I really do those corners on instinct, it's impossible to follow racing lines with this car. But... most of the time I get a penalty (or rather, 2 or 3 since I hit the walls multiples times trying to control the car after it hits once, and the "light" mechanical damage it receives also doesn't help sometimes).
My best lap time is 1:09 but as you mention , risky to push on too much for penalties - the twitchy steering and sheer speed of the car makes penalties inevitable. The light mechanical damage is really annoying when it happens + the penalty.

Please can you share your setup for the runs you have made? I'm now averaging a 15.20 race time with a one stop but still using Intermediate for 5 laps then switching to Race Medium for remainder - all on Fuel Map 6. (but still using TCS5 and Auto trans).

If I can no stop with manual trans setup and maybe Race Hard's ... this would be preferable.

Sorry in advance if this is not the place to post this..but i need help.
My Tomahawk X with PP 595 is not working anymore..so i can not do the Tokyo grind.
All the aero flaps are going/staying open and it goes up to 4th gear but when i shift to 5th it slows down again.
Yesterday it worked fine and i have not changed any settings and today this happened to it.
I have tried it on different tracks but all the same..what is wrong with it..?

Just an idea, could it be chassis and body wear?
What's the condition of "Body Rigidity" in your car?

I did the same damn thing, I bought the S version instead of the X version. It's all water under the bridge now with how much money I've grinded, lol.
Road cars great .... until you spend time grinding in the X version then you left thinking this cars poop lol

I tried one run hitting cars, barriers etc and i always keep getting the Clean Race Bonus.
Really? The amount of stress and time I wasted trying to avoid them, even while lapping, and I don't have to? Slowing down every time probably added like 5 minutes to each run and a whole lotta stress.

I just tried this for the first time, and I would say that 16 minutes is unrealistic, unless you're a Tomahawk expert.
It took me 22 minutes. The car is a total nightmare to control on a wet track.
I had probably about 90 seconds worth of wall penalties, too.
18 minutes is currently my average. I don't dare drive past the stupid AI at high speed, which costs me time. They get in my way too often.

I noticed that the bonus is also paid out in the event of serious accidents. I don't get it, but my wallet is happy.

You can just stay in 5th the whole time vs 7th. It will still hit 280 mph in 5th.

I stay mostly in 6th to keep the acceleration under control. My fingers are too fat and heavy for the microscopically fine control you sub-18-minutes people have.

I have a wheel but alas the timing... office is being remodeled and everything is boxed away, nowhere else to setup wheel, pedals, & chair. Stuck with the controller which I am not good at. My best lap times are around 1:30, a bit less sometimes.

No matter what I try I can't get below 1000pp. It might have been patched already.
Nah it still works. You have to figure the gears out. Just tweak with them and eventually you will get it to work.

EDIT

I can help you via SharePlay if you want?

Thanks for the offer :)

I've been messing around with the gearing like it is in the OP and have managed to get it down to 900pp with Comfort Hard tires.

This is an amazing method but god damn does the AI slow me down. What the hell are they doing when they are being blue flagged on this track? I swear they swerve in both directions on the main straight. Best I can do so far is about 17 minutes; trying to avoid hitting AI adds at least 15 seconds to my lap times.

I keep it on fuel map 1 for all 12 laps. But im only doing 1min 26ish,when i finish theres fuel to spare.I pit around lap 7 just for fresh IM tyres,no fuel, just to break it up a little.

I feel like they're intentionally trying to hit you, but they do zig-zag swerve on the straights if they're blue flagged.

What tune are you using if you don’t mind sharing

Nobody tried sub 14' ? It should be possible everything perfect.

The race won't last long, soon it will be fixed.

It's possible in theory.

Getting 12 perfect laps, IN CHANGING CONDITIONS with a car that corners at 400kph... Is likely the challenge of the century.

I'm attempting my best, but it's really difficult, there's always one lap where I turn too late or early and hit that barrier. Wheel users might have a better chance at sub 14.

The glitch is listed in the known issues. So they cant fix it yet or they would have.

But being that alot of the races are based on pp just turning it off would kinda break single player.

Why to stop this trick ? There are many people who don't know and buy credits. Always will be new tricks for more grinding rewards. Besides, I hope there will release in the future some DLCs. Even paid, would worth. So they cash too of that.

Wheel user. 21.30 max, so ... with the 1.11 update is better to play the game than Daytona grinding after all.
