I think its a glitch. Because even after you run out of battery, they still work like usual. If they were connected to battery, They wouldnt work at all after you run out of battery.
I can say for sure that you can run out of it when the green battery icon gets fully empty. With my last setup I use it intensely on all laps and can't use it anymore at mid last lap or even earlier. The first time I thought my wheel's R3 button broke because of using it too much, but having the same problem on all the next races I figured out it was linked with the battery icon. If you drive long enough the battery seems to refill like a real one, but 2 or 3 seconds using boost and it turns off again :/

If they squash the Tomahawk, I'm going to miss it. It's the only car for me that makes the race fun. I'm just not alien enough to win with any of the recommended cars or tunes in the "proper" thread. The best I've been able to do is with a VERY carefully tuned RE Amemiya RX-7, and after HOURS of do overs, was a 4th place finish.

If they would just ease up a bit on the difficulty, like Easy being actually EASY or something, or raise the PP limit, this could be a fun race. But right now, I hate the thing. And yes, I know Easy/Hard is flipped, but it doesn't make much difference.

With that build it's amazing!
What's even more amazing is that you beat my lowest time by 0:00.005!! XDDD
Go to hell !!! 🤣🤣🤣

A 4wd Lamborghini de tuned is about the best non tomahawk car I’ve used on it. Use the adjustable ecu and restrictor and play around with them to you get it how you like it.

You might get your wish.

Furthermore, the Performance Points (PP) requirements for some events may change with this update: please be sure to complete any championships within 'World Circuits' that might be on hold before the start of the maintenance.

Grinding this race made it impossible to drive normal cars again for a while
I can see that for a lot of people. For me, it's a relief to not be on the edge of my seat the whole race.

The one thing I hope doesn't happen is they put all the high payout races in the "endurance" level, above 30 minutes or more. A one hour race for me is exhausting, and I don't dare pause the thing and walk away to clear my head, because then it's like I have to re-learn how to race it for a lap. I'm not sure I'll ever do an actual endurance event.

I am glade in a way because I can stop running this race over and over. One could hope PD takes note, if I could make credits at this rate in other events with road cars I would be in heaven.
That's it. As Kaz said, he doesn't want us to run the same races over and over again, so he should give us the keys not to do so by actually making the other races worth it in terms of prize money.
Prize money depending on the length and/or difficulty of the race would be a good start.

The World GT Series Championship (the last cafe event) is for me the best event in the game. 5 great tracks, day/night gestion or dynamic weather in most of them, pretty long races, a little challenge... But even without touching any other cars and respecting track limits I never had a CRB on this event even once when you can literally play the bumper car with the Tomahawk and still earn it, and PC players with remote play will make at least twice more money in the same time without actually playing... That's a shame, as it's truly a great event!
I hope we'll have more of those championships soon, and that the prize money will be worth it.

1:02!! 😮
What setup do you use? Never got under 1:05....

You won't make fast laps like this with this setup but you'll be far more regular. You can make around 1:10 per lap and finish the race under 14:30. I finish under 15 minutes most of the times even with penalties.
Race details are in the description 👍

This set up is amazing. Buttery smooth everywhere.

Is there a race where I can use the tomahawk for the 500 miles in an oval trophy?

I find that odd you don't get the CRB, i've done that event dozens of times.
Certain cars it's quite easy to do all 5 clean, and in most cases ,3-4 clean at worst.:boggled:

I won in a detuned Huayra. The torque is crazy high to begin with, and is higher than the HP when detuned (if I recall correctly) so that you can basically short-shift and run pretty hard in top gear. Sport Soft tires, fuel map 6-ish, and no pit I believe. Until that race I was sure the car was useless! Now I have a whole new angle on torquey cars to learn about!

Going to have to try out the set-up as i've been using one with around 1400BHP and managed to complete a race in around 18 minutes, was wondering how people were managing times around the 15 minute mark.

World GT championship is the best race series yet for me. Maybe other elite sim players don't find it challenging but a casual sucky DS4 player like me find it intense and exhausting, I'd love more of those lol

Yeah, even with slick intermediates you have almost better grip than with brand new racing hard tires xD

For the oval races trophy I don't know at all, didn't tried it. If the special stage route X counts it should be pretty fast, but I don't know at all.

Did it something like 8 times and never had it once :/
I have it almost all the time on any other event and take care not to hit anything so I don't know neither :s

Enjoy while it lasts. If you are bored , you can always throw the same tomahawk at sardegna. Around the same amount of time but with 100k lesser credits.

Your not on your own there mate,i managed to win it with the NSX Gr4,only just though and it took a few attempts at that. The Tomohawk just takes it up a notch,or several. As long as you dont take it seriously you can have fun trying to best your laps without a penalty or 4.👍

Welp, we’ve finally reached the last day of this incredible exploit. It’s been a helluva ride. Like others have said, I’m kinda glad it’s coming to an end as I’ve not driven anything else over the past 2 weeks. 😅 It’s gonna feel so weird driving something else at somewhere else. And all the cars will now feel like it will have no grip. 😂

Also, check out my shot of the Tomahawk floor. 😬😬😬

Finally broke thru the 16 minute barrier with a 15:57.985, still using the first set-up, didn't want to try the fast one, might of got hooked on it 😂:boggled:
That's great Mate. I'm interested in knowing what's the fastest lap You achieved here.

With due respect to Einstein, I'm sure his body must be rolling in his grave every time I would turn at 300+ km/h on a semi wet track on racing hard tires.

I loved that event too. I used the VW Beetle GR3 with some ballast at the front. It was a dream. I thoroughly enjoyed every race, especially the Nurburgring one as the car had stellar grip on RS tires.

Just wish we had more championships like this & with a good selection of tracks too.

Todayyyyyyyyyyyyy......
Let us take an oath........

We will spend every minute of our Sunday playing this event till PD nullifies this car for this event. BTW, I'm thankful to PD for keeping some space in the game for glitches such as this.

This makes us love GT7 even more!!!!!!!!:gtpflag:

Daytona:
I set up a custom race at 20 laps using racing soft about 35 sec laps. Since you don't know how many laps you have altogether You might do maybe 2 20 laps then go to 10 laps until the trophy pops.

That's great Mate. I'm interested in knowing what's the fastest lap You achieved here.
Tbh, i didn't pay much attention to fastest lap,it was 1:12.8 in that 15:57 run.
That first right turn was killing my time,so i seemed to have figured it alot better this morning,3 runs under 16 with a 15:32.657 best so far, fastest lap today is a 1:11.4,...17 hours until shut down, i'll cap out today and see if i can drop time a lil more

Tried out @Papiculo64 intermediate tires tune and this is the best one till now! Love how all the cars line up on the straight all the time which helps in putting consistent lap times. This was my best with 0 collisions and 0 penalties which makes it worthy of the clean race bonus😁
