You don’t have to pit with Intermediates, in fact this car does just fine with completely worn out tires, give it a try.
Are you maybe using ASM and CSA?? I only use TCS 3 for assists and the car starts sliding around pretty bad on the S's after 5 laps. I generally start on IM and pit for RM at the end of lap 5, I usually run about a low 15:00 with a 1 stop depending on how many times I send an AI car to low earth orbit when it cuts in front of me at the last second. Its makes for some hilarious replays though if you take the time to watch the incidents. I am not sure why PD's AI strategy is set up that way. They will also spin you if you are inside of them and the AI decides its time to turn in for the corner.

I've been running this on Intermediates, Fuel Map 6. No pitting. CSA enabled, TCM is at 1. The intermediates are just fine even when fully red. I notice very little difference to be honest. I usually finish in about 17:00 flat, with a couple penalties (i'm not that great of a driver). My best is 16:00 flat. Here are my observations after a few dozen runs:

  • I don't think it's possible to lose the clean race bonus. I've done everything imaginable, with minutes worth of penalties, and still gotten the clean race bonus every time.
  • The IMs drive just fine even when they're totally red! And they make the first lap SO much easier.
  • You don't get time penalties for hitting other cars -- just for hitting the walls (but if you hit another car, you're very likely to hit a wall).
  • On the hairpin before the big straightaway, the area near the barrels has a lot more traction than the area further away. Take this turn tight.
  • When you hit another car or a wall with any force, your car takes damage that lasts about 10 seconds. Usually this will cause your car to pull hard to the left or the right, and reduce your ability to steer. After a crash, drive extra careful for a little while until the damage wears off.
  • If you get rear-ended, your engine can take damage, severely limiting your acceleration and top speed for 10 seconds or so.

Made it to 100 million. Would have done it sooner but I just had to buy the daytona which set me back. Now I can finally do something else, I don't want to see this track or car ever again.
I was at $50 million but had to buy the Daytona and a few others, back to $40 million currently. Gotta bump it up a little in case the update takes away our race though.

I switched back to running IM for a while and you only need TC1 and ABS weak really, car is stable enough otherwise. Biggest thing with IM is you just lose 2-4 seconds a lap by the end of the race at the first two corners and the hairpin because the tyres don't have the grip. Usually running under 14:10, but that does depend on the AI. Fastest run I had was under 6:50 at half distance and would've been around 13:50 if the AI hadn't decided to murder me a couple of times. Honestly SH is a bit slower but can be a lot more relaxed because the pace is more consistent throughout the race.

Man, that's so true...
The AI never holding it's line and cutting in front of you is really annoying, but when it pushes you from behind and makes you spin just because you happen to be on its rail and PD forgot to teach it how to break and avoid collisions it really gets on my nerves... Been spending many hours trying to make an arcade race in professional difficulty on Mount Panorama yesterday. It happened 1 race on 2, and sometimes 2 or 3 times in the same race!... 😠
With the Alpine A110 which is REALLY hard to handle I almost had a nervous breakdown... and couldn't finish 1st no matter how hard I tried 😖

I hope they learned their lessons with Sophy...
Otherwise they'd better call it Amber, cause nobody likes her! 👉👌

Whelp, might as well grind for what will likely be the last time today... patch inbound.

If Polyphony can't patch it this time around... something tells me support for this game will fall off quite a bit in place of GT8 development

Tomahawk problem still hasn't been solved. What a joke. And this game is sold under Real Driving Simulator banner ???
wich problem?
The only problem is the highly artificial difficulties (IMHO ..poor people real simulation) they introduced in GT7 in order to push microtransactions ..

The simpliest thing they have to do is to limit that race to road or tuned cars only ....

I guess grinding is over!

OMG I wanted to get the 12 million Ford car for the trophy. I could only get one race in and I am at 8.3 million credits. Any tips for how to get to 12 million without buying it?
