Maybe its just me but I actually think this race is fun... then again I play spotifty while playing this race... without its not as fun lol... I'm not saying I am excited to go home and play this race but once I start it gets pretty addictive... I still try to stick to one hour a day so 3 races only
I enjoy it too. It's not easy to get a clean race (no penalties) with a ridiculously fast car on a narrow track with walls. The closest I got so far was a single 5 second penalty but it's tough lapping the slower cars, especially when they purposely aim for you. It's just fun trying to beat you best lap and race time to date and nobody can say the race is not exciting, especially compared to the Xbow at BMB.

Yeah, I find it really fun too, if you look at it like a big time trial !
But play it too much and it will drive you nuts.
With a wheel it can even cause physical harm.
I played it many hours a day for something like 10 days in a row at the beginning. My hands, arms, back, shoulders and left foot would hurt so much that it took me another 10 days to fully restore! (I'm 40yo, it doesn't help 😅)
I love my rig so much I can probably develop some light repetitive use soreness on occasion. But sounds like you went on a real jag there for a while. Family, work and other passions probably keep me from getting too far down that road fortunately.

I noticed, at least on my rig, when the Tomahawk gets over 240-250 the wheel starts to oscillate pretty agressively and I have to keep it as still as I can, muting its forces. That starts to get a little nutz after so many laps. Not sure if that's everyone's experience or if its just my settup.

I'm 54 btw, since we're all bragging about how old we are, lol. As if you couldn't tell from my Speed Racer avatar.

Sounds like you need to modify your driving rig and make it more comfortable. It's not unusual for me to spend 3 hours in mine driving without a break in some of our 2 hour timed races by the time you add practice and qualifying. The only thing that ever gets sore is my right knee and that because I have had knee problems since my high school days. The herniated disc's in my back and neck don't cause any trouble and I have almost 2 decades on you. :):)
Yeah, that's one of my priorities right now!
I made it more comfortable since then, just look at the photo and I let you imagine what it was before that... xD
Plus, I drove 20.000km in only 15 days with the Tomahawk and my G29's FFB set on 10-10 cause it was the only viable settings before 1.13 patch (now you can reduce max torque to 6 and still have a very good control on the car).
I forgot my left knee in the addition by the way. Hurt for a few days too! 😖
I'm responsible for that but man, I didn't think you could harm yourself that much with a virtual car and a budget wheel. Taught me a good lesson!

When you get closer to the 600km/h it's quite a hassle to hold the wheel. I think it depends on your wheel and FFB settings, but even with the G29 which has not a huge FFB it becomes pretty tiring after a few races.
And yes, I literally had a crazy 2 weeks with many sleepless nights... I just thought they would patch it really fast and I wanted to bank the more money possible and got caught in the time attack fever in the process...
20.000km in 15 days with a peak of 2200km in one day... Even at this speed it's totally nuts thinking about it...

Amazing man!
You're really close to finish under 14 minutes!
My best so far are 14:18 and 14:17 but I had a few races where I was way faster than that and ended up terrible because of AI... But I really do think that you can go under 14 minutes with this setup :)
Didn't play for the last 2 days but I will try my luck today !
Amazing,no, i like to think of it as ,pretty good for a 60+ year old fart sitting in an office chair with wheels!,lol.
So,i was watching the replay this morning thinking is there a way to find 8.6 seconds to get under 14 minutes and i thought ,no way.
Did a few runs, was doing ok, few under 14:20 but with penalties.
Decided i'd upload the 14:08 video, post it and see if you really thought sub 14 was possible.
Well,while it's processing(4k) i'd thought i'd do a few runs,god dammed if i didn't do a sub 14 minute time...13:59.375,now i'm amazed!!!
Will post video soon, i think...

GG!!!!
I just watched your full race, and it's amazing, I'm 100% sure about that! 😜
And the fact that the first ever race under 14 minutes I see was made using my setup is pretty cool 😂
You're so regular, even in the last laps!
Actually for a big first half of the race it's pretty similar to what I do in my best tries.
1st lap in 1:13, 2nd and 3rd ones in 1:07, 4th in 1:10, 5th in 1:07, then a few laps between 1:08 and 1:12.
In the last laps I am way slower than you, with 1:12 to 1:15 laps on average.
I did a 14:13.037 race yesterday and don't think I can do better any time soon, but watching at your video is inspiring! 😁 I may push my luck a little more!
What was your fuel map for this one by the way?

Ya, take a bow man,i don't do it without yer set-up!!
I did fuel 4 for 2 laps,then 5 for 3-4,then 6 for a couple,then back to 5,or might run out.
I do lift ever so slightly for first hard left-right and lift for last hard right-left.
If i can do it, you can do it!

Strange result with my attempts to get PP below 600. I can only get the Tomahawk below 600 pp when I fit comfort medium tires. Does not work with any other. When I fit these PP drops down to around 495. Ballast has to be 29 , ECU and power both at 100% for approx 2400 bhp. Easily enough to win with this set up at around 22 minutes with best lap at 1.35.
Can just get 12 laps with the comfort mediums before they are fully red. It can hit 600 kmh on the straight but it gets very nervous and hard to keep straight. So most laps I keep below 550 kmh.

Not sure why my car does this as all settings have been to the original post.

👍👍👍
I step on the break just for a blink before the last right-left. It's more psychological than anything as I used to do it without breaking before, but I made so many mistakes, especially in the second part of the race, that I got used to do so. Maybe I could grasp a few seconds here, thanks for the advice :)
The main difficulty for me is to keep consistent in the last laps. I lose a lot of time in the last hairpin with worn tires as I miss the apex many times...
Maybe I reached my limit... 😅

Incredible, well done!!!!!

Not true, there exists scripts for Tokyo Clubman race and even Tokyo WTC600.

Do you have a link?I was under the impression it was only oval races,a link to the site would be good.
It would need more than a script to work.
Unless there's a guy mad enough to developp an AI just to farm a little credits in GT7, my bet is that it's a huge scam.
Be careful, you might only find viruses and malwares out there...

Yeah,i had wondered. It would have to be a bit more than a script to run on a non oval track, though i may be wrong.👍

I finally tried the Tomahawk on Friday and it took a bit to get under 600pp. If someone held a gun to my head I could not tell them how I did it. One moment I was at 1150 pp then I started playing with the ballast and its position and it magically went down to 520pp🤷‍♂️ Anyway I enjoyed it except for the penalties. As I do it more I need to work on not hitting the walls

Yeah, there's absolutely no (obvious) logic to the magic settings that get it under 600.

Well, you are just plain wrong. There is in fact a guy that was mad enough to develop an automated Tokyo. I wouldn't call it an 'AI' though, but how it works is still very impressive to see.

I will not post links to it, as this is against PS terms and possibly also GTP. You should find it yourself if you look for 'PSNProfiles GT7'. I'm not gonna burn myself over this. ^^

If you're talking about that, yeah, it works exactly as the oval races script, just boucing in the walls till the end of the race, nothing impressive here and we just have a few seconds video so we cannot even see if the car really finishes first and most of the comments say it doesn't work properly. But it's an almost oval circuit bordered by walls, so why not...

But on The Tokyo WTC600?? Come on, you'll have 3 minutes penalty after the first lap...
Unless you show proofs of what you're advancing I won't buy that. It's common sense!

Just because you cannot wrap your mind around how something like this works, does not mean that it doesn’t work at all.

There is no need to show you proof. Theres over a thousand people that have downloaded the tokyo wtc600 script and a big percentage of those are running it happily - you can read this for yourself if you would put even just a smidgen of effort into it, instead of shooting down things you don’t personally grasp.

For your information, it does get penalties, but never more than 5 seconds per lap. Also, it is not ‘just bouncing the walls’. You should really stop blabbering about things you clearly don’t understand.

You don’t have to buy anything, everything is free to use. It’s just a few guys that were fed up with the game/economy and they are enthusiasts just like any other. I’m just not personally gonna link to it and get myself in hot water over spreading such things, because that is very much against the ToS.

Merely stating - I’ve seen it work, I’ve seen lots of others using it, you are misinformed. ;)

When I say I won't buy it I mean that I won't believe it.
As a dumbass I am, I only believe what I see. You could tell me one million people are actually using it and all your friends have seen it working, that's just words to me.
There has been hundreds of afk grind videos all over youtube for at least 2 months, why would this script be so special that no one would talk about it or in a very nebulous way like if all the Polyphony staff was lurking in the shadows for them? Why would you talk about it in the first place if you can't even tell clearly where you found it and then reproach people not to search sufficiently?

You're right, I don't grasp it and blabber about things I don't understand, that's a fact. Maybe there's a good explanation about that script. I'm not that thickheaded and if you could explain me the process I may change my mind.
Anyway I don't want to use afk methods and even less to browse all the dark web to download a file that might end up being a chinese spyware...
It's out of topic anyway so unless there's concrete about this stuff I'm out of this conversation.

I would be interested to see a full race video showing it in progress,if its just a case of wall riding i get it but how would it get round the hairpin and past the pit entrance?
The discord invite didnt work for me and youtube just throws up the oval version.
Edit.Sorry,i didnt watch the whole video, its 9 mins of not really anything anyway, but its a different layout.I assumed it was the Expressway layout,my bad. Thanks anyway.👍

I'm back to grinding a lot of Tokyo Expressway daily. Just in case PD fixes this in the upcoming update.

I have used a lot of different setups for the Tomahawk and funny enough the one on Sports Hards are the ones for me. Especially the first lap of the race. I know i can get a setup with Intermediates but i don't want to pit in the race. Credits to you for this setup, i love it!

You don’t have to pit with Intermediates, in fact this car does just fine with completely worn out tires, give it a try.

It's not a bad race, you just have to be careful not to hit the barriers the whole 12 laps. I usually drive semi-slow cause it's worth getting the extra clean bonus for the win. And I usually pit one time and the tomahawk is so fast it can catch the opponents rather quick, in a heartbeat!!
