Sony released this at a recent press event which shows the breakdown of PSN users by country/region.

The US congress is demanding answers from Sony over the reality of the PSN hack, this is the letter they have sent. Sony have always been tight lipped about how they run the whole Playstation operation (what the firmware updates really do, how reliable is the system, how secure it really is etc etc) and irony is it now feels like they are on trial! All this started with Other OS... what they would give to turn back the clock!

Pretty sure that's old. (already seen)

Quite impressed to see that the UK is 2nd on that list (a long way) behind the US.

Scaff

How many are real though and how many are fake, that we'll never know.:sly: With some countries unable to even access the store, people from those countries will probably have an account using an US or GB address more often than not. Also I wonder how many of these accounts are "Birthday Glitch" accounts.:dopey:

I have a UK account because I wanted to demo Killzone 2 way back. Score 6 US accounts and 1 UK account for me lol.

I'm quite impressed with Portuguese figures also, plenty more users than Brazil, Argentina,Austria,Poland, etc.

But I always thought Japan was the 2nd market...impressive figures in the U.K. indeed.

Loads of those accounts are ones people use for different regional PSN stores and for Home. I would think there are probably 4 accounts on every PS3 out there which isn't really used over inflating the figures but its still interesting to see the break down by country.

Nothing 'happened' today, that letter was written on the 29th.

Well maybe the press got it today then, I'm just posting it here so people can read it if they haven't seen it. Or is 'this second' news only good enough?

Robin.

I think it is more of a case of this was leaked a few days ago, made official today.

This is the first time I have seen the letter though.

No, I didn't mean it like that really, as I was not complaining of 'old news'. I should have been more clear. I ment nothing happened today as in, nothing happened, that letter is not a big deal putting Sony in hot water or anything.

"If you can't trust a huge multinational corporation like Sony to protect your private information, who can you trust?" Maksimovic asked Tuesday in a release.
Why are people so dumb. Why why why.

I don't even know where to begin with this neanderthal of a woman. Her blatant capitalistic vampirism or her trust in multinational corporations.

Banks are too big to fail!

Enron is a good investment!

Jesus what will people think of next?

"The lawsuit claims damages in excess of $1 billion, which includes having Sony pay the costs of credit monitoring services and fraud insurance coverage for two years."

Wait... Isn't Sony providing that anyway?

Oh just wait.

And enjoy it when it happens.

Plus you can always be glad your not that person.

Ps. If it hasn't been said give Sony a break this could have happened to anyone psn will come back include and life will move on

Maybe we should limit the talk to PSN information, rather than about silly people who deserve to be ignored. We don't want the thread to get closed, especially since we must be getting close to PSN coming back online.

Am I right in thinking the PSN was penned in to start up again on the 3rd or was this just rumours I may have let seep into my brain?

The 3rd was just something said on a 3rd party site, not Sony. Sony says on Sunday 1st May, services to begin to resume during the next week some time. So basically they have till Saturday 7th May, to begin to resume PSN. With full PSN to be back up by the end of May.

Thank you for the clear up info 👍
