But in Japan the network is still down and may remain so for some time. The Japanese government has refused to let Sony restart the network without providing more explicit proof that it is securing the network.

Kazushige Nobutani, the director of the Media and Content Industry department at the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, comments, "We met with Sony on May 6 and 13, and basically we want two things from them. The first is preventative measures. As of May 13, Sony was incomplete in exercising measures that they said they will do on the May 1 press conference."

The second key point was that the Japanese government is demanding Sony address what steps it’s taking to protect customers whose credit card data may have been stolen. Sony Japan has been less specific about what measures it has been taking, as opposed to Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC , which announced that it would be providing customers with a year of free identity theft coverage.

they have listed 5 games which we can choose 2 from. also confirmed 30 day psn+ for free for non subscribers and 60 days for those who already subscribe
 
my main account was easy cheesy to reset password, however my girlfreinds is offline still because they sent her reset info to a hotmail.com rather than hotmail.ca, called the techs and might have to wait another 2 weeks b4 i can start sendin my chromes again
 
I attempted to change my password yesturday at about 1:15pm, the email came and 1:09pm today but I was at school. So when i got home the link had already expired. Now I'm gunna have to wait another 24 hrs to recieve my second email. Not fun.
 
It's now 14 hours I've been waiting for the Email.

They should have used carrier pidgeon.

You only have 3 hours before the link expires?? Good thing it didn't arrive during the night.

Oh yeah and I'm with Hotmail too like turbonutter69, so perhaps there's something behind that.

All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.

* Dead Nation
* inFAMOUS
* LittleBigPlanet
* Super Stardust HD
* Wipeout HD + Fury

I am thinking Dead Nation and LittleBigPlanet, but I really don't know too much about any games besides GT and CoD. Hopefully these free games will help me expand my gaming horizons.

Does anybody know if other regions are getting similar offers?

I've just tried logging in to PSN again to see if that prompts the system to send a new Email. It gives me the same message as before "An Email has been sent to ___@Hotmail", which isn't clear if it's sent a new one of is just showing me the message again.

I quickly jumped back on my computer but no sudden arrival of an Email :grumpy:
 
Just off the phone with PS Hotline (third time now!! :grumpy: ) and they said it is hotmail customers who are having this problem.

So go and abuse hotmail people, they are the reason for your lack of online playing!! I know I will be right NOW!!

*added bit* Hotmail's phone number - +1-866-6724551

Ring and abuse as many times as possible to get your password email sent through and demand why they held back the emails from Sony!!

Probably a spam filter, that's my guess.
 
i've a problem.

My USA account it's fine, but also i've a chilean account, i received my email for this, changed the password but when i went forward the page said "PlayStation®Store is not available in the selected country or region" and nothing happens, i still can't play on my chilean account and i've everything there!

what can i do?

anyone else have this problem.

I wonder if anybody else is having this same problem with accounts from countries with no PSN Stores...

I have two PSN Accounts:

-1 US account (the one I use for purchasing DLC) - psw reseted ok directly through the PS3. (Unfortunately not an account I use for GT5).
- 1 Argentine account (My GTP tag account). While trying to log in, I get a message indicating I will receive an email with a psw reset link to be accesed via PC. When I click on that link, I get this message: "PlayStation®Store is not available in the selected country or region."

I´m a bit worried about this, as it seems not to be a place where I could reach even when the PSN gets fully restored, because argentine accounts simply can´t login to the store...

Somebody out there with the same issue?

Call THIS number................. 0905 915 0100 it's hotmail help UK I got through first time still nothing yet though

the more that call it the more chance there is of getting this sorted.

Both my accounts back on, had to e-mail link my second one. No issues there, thought there might be as that e-mail re-directs to my e-mail on the other account.

Those free games look good too, have to do some thinking on it.

I see i'm not the only one with a Hotmail account still waiting for the password email. I'm a little bit relieved.

Shame on you Microsoft! This is not the way to face competition!


Edit: I don't know about you but, if i find out that Microsoft has intentionally blocked the password reset emails coming from sony, i'm definitely switching all my social media accounts to another mailing service...
