There is very little strategy with Daily Race C this week. Fuel isn't an issue, and there is no point to pitting as far as I can see.
Only thing worth thinking about is protecting your tyres. I chose the Mercedes for my race and drove gently for the 1st 5 laps or so and then started to try and push, and my tyres seemed to be better than the other cars around me. It is a little bit rear endy on a couple of corners (I had the BB set to 5 to the back) but I was much faster through the middle section of Interlagos than the cars around me. Huracan won the race so that is an option, but I don't know about how their tyres lasted.

Kie mentioned trying the Megane Trophy because of the way its tyres last, but I haven't tried it and it is probably very slow in a straight line so might get murdered on the straights.

Just did two races at Interlagos with the Huracán, tons of track limit penalties and people going all sorts of wide but imho much more enjoyable than any of last weeks races.
Doing the pit stop seems like the superior strategy but I'll have to do a bit more testing before I can say for sure.

Had fun with the gr2 class. I think I did fairly well on the days I've been on...

Giving race c a go in the wrx.

Had a few qualifying laps at goodwood and ran a couple of races at Interlagos. Goodwood will be fun but a bit touchy, like last time. Tires are definitely in play in race C. Had an awesome race with an 8 lap battle with another driver. Fantastic, few back and forth bits where we had to build up a run on the other, consecutive corners side by side with room. I won the battle but would have been fine losing it, was great.
Next race not so good. Got a great start ina field with 10 A or A+ drivers. 1 in front tanks the last turn lap 1 so I go by on the outside. My right wheels on the track limits as he kept pushing me over. Nope, keeps pushing. I back down at turn 1 and he slides it again. Then I go by and slip on the curb into him. All this means someone behind punts him hard, which sends me to nowhere good. No penalties. I am now 19th out of 19 instead of 9th where I was fighting. Lost it grumpy after that as it was so early in the race that I was last by a good margin. Ended up 16th. Overall it wasn't so bad in the end result as I was one of lowest rsted drivers there but really grumpy I didn't keep it straight and just get the clean pass done.

Tires were definitely howling mad by the end of the race so keeping smooth and steady lines early makes a big difference. Seen an RCf and a megane win. I was in the jaaaag for both races, ok as the straight line speed helps but front tires can be a liability. Now to figure out what race I try the most this week. Did well in A last time they had it but mistakes are punished brutally, and it got to be a smash fest by Friday. We'll have to see.

which Megane? The pocket rocket i presume?

Jeez, first I miss the race entry by seconds thanks to the daily workout, then my wifi extender crashes seconds after entering the lobby of the next race. -5 SR, -1500 DR. At least it was on my end this time, no such thing as reliable tech nowadays.

So 40 minute wait to start a race lol.

I only had 6 races all last week due to busy real life. Managed to improve my Q lap in DT and never actually raced after it so missed the chance of some decent grid places. Last night I found a 15 to 20 minute window of opportunity so jumped on to try and sneak at least one race in. Daily work out car starts to arrive with it's tortuously slow whirly table only to uncover some POS that I have 20 of and need to clear out of my garage. Glance at the clock, still enough time. Hit accept. 2nd Daily work out car starts to arrive. I'd played through midnight the last time I was on and was getting two cars from both pre and post midnight miles. Another POS, time lost and my only chance to race gone. Cobblers! I would like the option to turn off daily work out booby prizes.

You weren’t kidding. Just finished some test laps in the Ferrari and the pit delta looks to be 1-2s tops because of how fast you can enter as well. And pushing the last ~4 laps I was seeing pretty consistent 0.5-1s increase in lap times as the tires fell off.

Hoping that a 1-stop strategy around lap 6 is competitive in the actual races.

Great job
thanks for that analysis - strangely enough one of my go to Gr4's is the Megane so i would have tried QF in that no doubt. Veyron? ;)

Not having tested at all for this week at Interlagos I do know the track and the class of cars. I'd agree with a lot of what was said by @EinsTheOne but add to what @Leftcurl says. I do very well at the Gr4 FWD Daily B races that appear because I seem to be one of the few players that actually enjoys and does well in the FWD Gr4 class. The Megane will be very good on this track. The only weakness may be tyre wear. With the pit stop losing so little time it may pay to use the very fast Megane and take the 1 stop option rather than nursing tyres on a nice RWD car for the last couple of laps.

It's a pity they did not make fuel and tyres more of an issue for this race. High tyre wear would have nerfed the FWD cars. If you make RWD / AWD the better options I'd guarantee the grid would be much more mixed.

Bigger picture, the Gr4 FWD cars need to have their straight line speed reduced.

Track limits at Interlagos are super broken. You can just force others out and the game will almost always give them a penalty, but you will get away with it 90% of the time. It is especially bad at T6, where it will give you 3 (!!!) seconds for getting pushed wide.
Some idiot kept doing this to me last race which not only cost me numerous positions, but it also completely murdered my SR.

This is going to be an interesting week...

Anyone get understeer during the first lap at Suzuka? Holy snaps! Cars were going off even at cautious speeds. I got off the gas to coast around the last right of the esses. Tyres said, "Oh wait... you wanted to turn right? Hold on... let me take this call first..". What the heck? Fell from 10th to last and finished 11th.

Did Race B in the 86. Not too bad on the straights. Had to defend from a Huracan(DNF'd) for a lap. After that, pulled away from an Evo as well. Penalty on last lap for track limits at "fall-away corner"(T4), the end of the straight.

Qualified in the RC F. Went 1.3 seconds faster than the 86, for a 1:39.114. That F-Type bolted after the Evo tried to pass. I moved to 2nd and couldn't keep pace. Tried not to battle the Evo as the cars behind were catching back up, but the Evo is slow in a straight line. The 458 & Atenza sped off into the sunset. RC F was not kind on its tyres. Started 3rd, finished 5th. Did I mention I really want that GT4 Supra?

Quick look at strategy for race at interlagos

Nothing too surprising but hopefully helpful for a few folk out there

I do think PD missed a trick to make this race more interesting

It's become obvious that PD have gradually been creating the 'dailies' as more of a throwaway race that you shouldn't really care about DR/SR and just jump in and race. They're open to all levels and they're there to be enjoyed. We used to at least need some sort of strategy on Race C to test us, but now it's just a case of waiting a day to see what the meta car is and away you go. Whereas if you really want to test your race craft then get involved in the FIA stuff. In fact, you can't even really use the dailies to 'get your eye in' in preparation for the FIA stuff because everyone is scared to death of pummeling their DR/SR.
I still think i'd prefer the dailies to be dailies and just throw out as many combinations as they can to keep everyone on their toes - this may push me to get involved with the FIA stuff more, which as yet, i've never done a single race with.

Agreed! Pure and simple I've never been available to race any FIA race as they simply don't suit my playing times. Brands Gr4 was perfect for me as I had loads of practice in the Daily B there a few weeks back and did really well. If they want more people to race FIA then they need more time availability. IMHO!

Managed to get the Mustang on the leaderboard (Race C) and there is also an RC-F on there too, hopefully that encourages some people to try cars other than the Huracan. :)

To stay on the boards will need a time quicker than anything currently on there though, don't think I can do that. :dopey:

I Ran some test yesterday evening, just laptimes on Interlagos. I was within 2 tenths between the Mustang and the LC F. But I am a full second faster in the Hurracan. And I don't want to race in that...
Maybe I just go for the car I want, the lobbies I am in it's often more important to be consistent than being really fast.

Man, these Gr.3's feel heavy and tank'ish at Suzuka today. Time to adjust from from the Gr.2 downforce beasts again!

While the EMEA leaderbord is almost full of R8's, it's the AMG i saw the most so far at the races in Suzuka. They're very quick over there. I'm doing a good job in making them feel honest in my '16 Lexus.

Yes use what you are comfortable with and this applies to everyone really, unless you are good enough to challenge the regular top ten drivers.

To be honest, I probably couldn't beat my Mustang time in the Huracan, I've always been a bit average in that car, which is why I used another car. If I was good in the Huracan I'd probably be driving it too, like most of the grid will. ;)

That's happened a few times to me. No idea why we can't skip the roulette wheel, I know I'm going to be given the Mini out of a Gr.1, VGT and 20M car. No need to delay the inevitable.

What's with loads of people not even putting up a qualifier time and starting at the back? trying to game points or something?

I assume you mean SR points. That's one of the reasons: to recover lost SR by avoiding other drivers and staying out of trouble. Or people like me who start racing at the back for the first few days to have a feel for the race and it's enjoyable for me to see how many places I can gain from last position.

Lastly, I see 1 - 3 people max in races without qualifying times (less so as the week progresses) so I'm surprised you see a lot. The only time I've seen more is at Nordschleife which is understandable, it's a long track. People might not have had adequate time to set a QT before the race.

It's fun to start at the back and be able to overtake, if everybody starts in pace order the races can be a bit processional. The only gain I can see through points is dropping your DR which helps with the FIA races, going from the A+ lobby down to bog standard A means you can score well over a 1000 points extra without driving any quicker.
