YOu've always been BS
ME??

are saying I am full off it LOL..... or my rating has been a B/S not sure which you mean But all accts are at A/S with a couple at A+/s. I usually dont last long at A+ I can creep in at 52 to 54 but just not fast enough over a period of a week or so to maintain

I lost 37 SR last night in one race, due to other people hitting me lol. First 3s pen was for a GTR in front spinning out and I had no where to go, even after hitting the brakes. Second 1s pen was after serving my pen, a guy behind caught up and bumped me instead of lifting. 3rd 1s pen was for being side by side in the second last corner and the guy on the inside slightly touching my car. How are you supposed to be able to actually race like this?

It’s the last race on the stream, starts on lap 1 T2 lol.

Bathurst is really tough, if someone is on mediums and I am on softs and guy behind on softs, there is nowhere to pass cleanly across the top but you need the guy behind to behave and they invariably don't. I lost a raft of SR points being nudged in the rear then pushed into the guy in front. People are clueless on how to race.

Being on the outside at that corner is horrible, it's almost a cheat to lightly bump the car when you're side-by-side on the inside.

This is why I'm going to try and 2 stop more, I need space to just run my laps. I usually end up in some incident otherwise and lose more time than if I had made the extra stop. Still situational as you need the gaps to be there after pitting.

Now, which car should we use to accomplish this?

Mustang, DBR9, M6 (not so much this week...) AMG, Vette (some people)
No Subaru Porsche Ferrari Lamborghini and certainly not Misubishi...

That’s worst case scenario, penalized lap 1...That was SUCH bad luck with the GTR going back and forth across track outta control right in your way. NOWAY to predict it going back left...

I’m convinced the penalty system is not a fixed set of rules. Somehow it adjusts situationally for some reason. Sometimes after 3-4 clean bonus in a row, it’s like you become immune to penalties, other times it’s like it locks in on you and ANY incident is all your fault.
I think car choice affects it also. Like track limits at LeMans, some cars are magnets for pens...

I need to test again tonight but it seems like I found a little trick to getting max performance from the racing soft tire.
I’m not sure if anyone’s done this but if you get them too hot too soon and push them you can feel how mushy and vague they get in the ffb, no grip! but if you avoid slides the first corner or two you get nice tight steering...
Have you ever noticed this?
You can feel the difference in ffb...When the tires are ‘right’ you get a little tighter steering with better grip...

Crazy I never see more of you guys in lobbies tbh, I see a lot of those names in my lobbies @Pigems but never you lol

I have been thinking about this often recently, but across the board for GTPlanet members (GTPlaneteers? By Our Powers Combined!) in the Americas region. When there is a combo I like, I cast a pretty wide net during the week with my daily race schedule being a race before work, one after work, and a few after my wife goes to sleep. I rarely recognize names from here, though I know the other names in your videos well. I sometimes see TPC_ names and that seems like an indicator of GTPness(?), but I don't know who that connects to on here. Its probably just as well, though. I could run several fast, consistent races in a row, but if a GTPer(?) shows up I get all nervous about impressing them and usually do something dumb.

You should just race. Last week I made a fool of myself out there in front of I think @Jwptexas. I think I crashed, then lifted and signaled to try to let him by, causing another guy to hit me, was slow those races, got into a fight...Took out a bunch of cars...
My world didn’t end.
The main thing imo is to just race the best you can and if you change things up more likely to screwup.
I will say I’m extra careful around GTP folks and if I see them get hit I will takeout the perpetrator if possible...
Just be yourself all is well. I tend towards what happens in sport mode STAYS in sport mode haha, also I don’t make vids so no worries there...Also to anyone say hi if you see SEA BASS.
This way I will know not to punt you on my way to the front!!!! LOL (serious tho)

Tried a Race C this morning. Gave up after 3 laps.

Pretty dicey in the back. Nobody uses brakes. My impression is that everybody thinks the other cars will ghost. I guess they eventually do, so they're not wrong.

I raced a guy for a few nights at brands and got him first 2 races at Bathurst too and he cost me a TON of SR points. I finally let fl at him in the post race chat and he responded to me via PM. I responded with the text below and he took it well and agreed he needs to calm it.

I raced you a lot last week at brands too. You are very fast and not intentionally dirty but wherever you are on track you are surrounded by cars with penalties. Just pick your spots a little better, you have the pace. At Bathurst yesterday we were both clearly quicker than the car in front but I had nowhere to go across the top, it is impossible to cleanly pass up there. You hit me three times, the third time i hit the guy in front and got a penalty which put me back with guys that cannot control their their car and i was hit a lot by them too. It's a long race, pick your spots, don't swerve when defending, pick inside or outside and stick to that line. You will win more races by not getting hammered by penalties.

I think the issue is most folks do not use their GTP name, I do though.
I shortened mine for this forum and other online profiles. I mean to honor David Bowie, not violate his copyrights. I haven't encountered another Ziggy on track, so I think I'm the only one.

Good advice. I've gotten lots of good advice here since I joined last May and went from a sloppy, bottom tier racer to a consistently clean one that's almost to A+ (45K and climbing). I just want to show y'all I don't suck anymore, but you're right that I shouldn't let that affect my race focus. I'm slightly above average now!

What's really interesting to me with racing a lot of the same guys every week is seeing who excels at which combos or who is quick every week. Some weeks I race more or less depending on how I like the combo.

I try to just enjoy my races regardless who's in the lobby. If I make a fool of myself I could care less, it's when I miss my braking and bump into someone too enthusiastically I feel bad and ironically those are the ones that usually go unpenalized. What's worse is when you miss their name so after the race you don't even know who to say sorry too! Locked up so bad yesterday at the bottom of the mountain and spun a Brazilian I had to issue a Canadian apology afterwards. Most people don't have bad intentions on this game but race craft, track experience and knowledge go a long way in finding success every week. Bathurst is just a brutal beast, if it doesn't eat you alive the competition will surely be trying their best also.

I do remember this race, lol... when you braked to let me by I wasn't expecting it and swiped you but surprised no penalties then the car that was behind me looked like smoked you right off track with 4 second penalty

When I first got to top split I'd always give the aliens the free pass since even though I out qualified them I wasn't stressed about points like them so I'd let them by and just nervous I'd make myself look bad. Now a days I'm just an a hole and if you want a spot go earn that  I got faster when I stopped worrying about others.

Bathurst is not as tough as it seems, people are just impatient. There are two legit passing areas, end of both long straights. If you are lucky you can pass into murrays and hell corner and mayyyyybe forrests elbow but that is immensely tricky. Anywhere else is absolutely off limits, nothing but pain. In a 9 lap race, trying to pass me through mcphillamy with a 215kmh apex is just stupid, come on man be better than that.
