Tried to post the other day and my phone e refused. Been cruising mainly bathurst this week. Only seen 1 or 2 really dirty drivers. Others are just optimistic or making mistakes trying to push the thing too hard. Been down to SR C and back up to SR S.

Driving down in the lower SR ranks is amazing. Had someone try to take me on through the dipper. No idea why they thought that would work. I got a penalty. They tried it again on the last lap and were angry they got the penalty this time. And they raged and killed the other driver. Just amazing.

Finally getting consistent though, and finding that being as smooth as possible is the real key to speed. As well as knowing your turn in points on some fairly blind corners.

Bathurst is not as tough as it seems, people are just impatient. There are two legit passing areas, end of both long straights. If you are lucky you can pass into murrays and hell corner and mayyyyybe forrests elbow but that is immensely tricky. Anywhere else is absolutely off limits, nothing but pain. In a 9 lap race, trying to pass me through mcphillamy with a 215kmh apex is just stupid, come on man be better than that.
I drive the M6, the end of the straights is the only place it can't pass

I have been thinking about this often recently, but across the board for GTPlanet members (GTPlaneteers? By Our Powers Combined!) in the Americas region. When there is a combo I like, I cast a pretty wide net during the week with my daily race schedule being a race before work, one after work, and a few after my wife goes to sleep. I rarely recognize names from here, though I know the other names in your videos well. I sometimes see TPC_ names and that seems like an indicator of GTPness(?), but I don't know who that connects to on here. Its probably just as well, though. I could run several fast, consistent races in a row, but if a GTPer(?) shows up I get all nervous about impressing them and usually do something dumb.

Running your own race & not worrying about another forum member is the best advice. Last week, @sturk0167 & I shared a race at Brands. I spun my car & he passed. I ran behind him for the rest of the race until he lost it at Dingle Dell & I went back by.

I think the issue is most folks do not use their GTP name, I do though.

I do. Both of my alts have it too. Needless to say, I’m not hiding from anybody.

Nice! Excellent communication. A message is heard more clearly when is starts with a positive. It works in GTS too. The corollary is to pay close attention to everything after the "but" as that is where the real message is.

So, you're saying that the girl (I'm assuming) that started a message to me with, "What a pig!" is lacking in communication skills?

I need to reference a map to know the corner names at Bathurst. I though this was a pretty cool rendering...
Finally, I can see these names that everybody keeps throwing around by memory.

Thank you

I'm glad you mentioned this because I thought I was the only one.

I was scared to go into these races at the beginning of the week because of the mayhem I expected and I have been pleasantly surprised, shocked, more like it.

In roughly 20 races, I have only come across, MAYBE 2, dirty drivers.

I was wondering if the reason is that that's a technical and dangerous course, perhaps most of the dirty drivers don't want to even attempt it?

No, I dont think the technical nature is keeping dirty drivers away. It just means that there are more penalties being handed out due to the follow the leader natureof going over the mountain that they cant rebuild SR easily. Any accident often claims both. It is very easy to have contact come back to haunt you quickly with the walls. I am having a blast there.

And also enjoying race A here and there. Although I've seen several people insist on taking the qualifying line only, no matter if someone is there beside them. The results get interesting at that point

For some reason, that map looks a bit old. It neither points out The Chase nor does the shape reflect it. Try this one, although it doesn’t show elevation.

So I thought I saw this earlier, but sure now. If you have a pen but the game times out it doesn't count. So I just finished a game and was just on the line as it timed out, the guy in front got 1 min and kept his position. Now the way the pens are handed out here I wouldn't have a problem with a 4 sec and not getting the place, but the one pen that truely is deserved needs to be applied.

Mine is close but not exactly the same, if I meet someone from here I usually don't realise unless they say. But even doing the same races as people I know are about the same rating doesn't mean you'll be in the same game.
For a good while I was seeing a decent amount of GTPlaneteers? (GTPlaneteers gets my vote) Then, last week or so, I stopped seeing names I recognized. Same raking, and same time of day as before. Well, it was good while it lasted

Well, the grind continues...
I had on player 2 stop, lost a hard fought race, then next race they choose Mustang.
DNF
no tcs lol

Decided to run some more time trial laps of Mount Panorama last night.

I'd been working on a new livery idea for the 458, so I thought why not give that a thrash around the mountain? Well, that didn't go too well. What an absolute handful! Coming down through the esses is just pure luck, getting over McPhillamy without getting air and/or unsettling the balance on ending up in the sand relies on an early lift off. In the end, I managed a few "clean" laps, although all of there were in the 2:05's, with one lap scraping under that with 2:04:899.

Decided then to jump into the Aston DBR9, seeing as loads of people have been raving on about it. By comparison it felt like the tyres actually had some resemblance of grip, and it felt completely planted and balanced all the way over the hill! I only ran one lap, but that was a high 2:02, with plenty of room left for improvement! I can see exactly why this has been a solid choice in the race - it just feels so predictable and reliable!

Yes, no finish time means no penalty and someone with a penalty who finished can't drop below anyone who does not finish the race, since you have no time and the game does not know if I would have taken you seconds or many minutes to finish. If you don't want this to happen you'll have to drive faster as most potential fixes are just not worth doing.

Back in an old favorite(with my old XR8 livery :)).

Dispatched an Atenza and RCZ, both would nail the throttle and run me wide. Once released, set FL and caught the Cayman(from the CAyman rear bumper cam).

Edit: Jimini Cricket... Pole(A/S) in a D/S room. P2 is the GT-R(B/S) on R/S. We get to T2 And The Gt-R is side by side. We get to T3, it's on the outside. It won't work. The GT-R cuts down on me and I hit the indside wall. P3, in a McLaren, tries to avoid, but slightly tags me and I'm perpendicular. I nail the throttle and straighten up. Poor F1 gets 4 seconds, the GT-R only gets 2 seconds.
