Finally got onto the podium this week for race C. Lobbies have either been fast or super fast with little room for mistakes. I didn’t make any this time.

Also, check out this awesome livery I discovered and have been sporting all week. I’ve been keeping my Jimmie Johnson clean!

The neutering of the Vantage is evident on the mountain. I can get a draft on a Corvette, but when I pull out to pass I lose all momentum and can't pull ahead. The only way to get a clear pass on the straights is if you have a good long run up, then in 6th gear you can slingshot. Straight up the Aston lacks the grunt.

It's a blast. My favorite car in this game. Just be aware of the wheel spin...

The lag is what makes it fun!

It is such a fun car, if you've got a PSVR, I recommend taking it for a lap of the Nordschleife, the feeling of the speed there is amazing, I just wish we had Monaco to do the same!

Well after 2 fairly clean races gives me 14 SR points I get the normal bumper cars and lose 22. Really PD, if I was cynical I'd say PD want us to drive badly it's the only thing that makes sense of the penalty system.

I think at this point in time we can conclude that he PS4 just isn’t up to the task of running a proper penalty system, it just doesn’t have the juice. I say we just turn contact pens off completely and only run shortcut pens, at least the game can get those right more often than not. 👍

I don't want to get into a big debate but I just want to say the fact that the game ghosts out cars who would otherwise demolish others in low SR/DR lobbies suggests there already exists an algorithm that could be used to hand out more appropriate penalties.

The game can sort out when a penalty should be issued fairly well, but what it can’t do is properly decide who should get the penalty, and how severe it should be. A slight bump where no harm was caused to anyone can be up to an 8s penalty? It’s ludicrous!

The best racing we ever had was when the contact pens got turned off for about 2/3 months. 👍

The best racing we ever had was when the contact pens got turned off. Until people started gaming the system. :(

I have a feeling the goal is not a perfect penalty system (which does not exist yet) but a fully automatic, low maintenance system. Which may sound bad initially but overall works in favor of the consumer keeping costs down.

I'm still stuck in the SR hell lobbies. Currently B/A after hitting a Corvette in Race C that spun out while going down the mountain, giving me a 3 second penalty. I hope I can recover and have at least one proper race before this week is over.

I am guessing SF for C

Don't tease me.

If that's the case, you'll not likely see me at Suzuka! Really don't fancy my chances in the SF's at Suzuka! It's hard enough getting them around the track cleanly in the first place, let alone racing them... Race B will be my race I think.

I've had 1 win at RBR & no wins anywhere in the SF19 & would take the SF race every time. Too many people treat RBR like a true bull ring.

Daily race c, explaining some things about it in general but also showing a great battle with 2 top drivers of the game.

Is that the same Kie that went on a rampage swearing, deleting the game from his PS5, & saying it was ACC from now on? All of that in a live stream? Welcome back. Sucker! :mischievous:

It’s not thinking about anything, it’s just giving you a moment to get your affairs in order, before it kills you.

Race one top split. Aliens take each other out.
Get to third, then fourth after pit.
Guy gets run up the Mountain. We go in nose to nose at Griffins he turns in like I’m not there hits himself into wall.
3 seconds to me. I love GTS.

Lmao I think I know that last guy your talking about, should of known better than to try that with you, you had a great run off t1. Feeling the stage fright in front of seabass, got me some fail clips though.

Urrrrrrgh. I was in P3 last night, gaped guys behind me by 2 seconds in 2 laps, i need 4 seconds by lap 4 to pit twice. I am hounding P2 hard, he is very consistent, predictable but I am clearly faster. I am right up his clacker, loses it through dipper and i hit him, 3 seconds.

I lose 3 spots dang it.

There are some tracks where penalties don't hurt that bad...Laguna was one of them last week.

A 2 second penalty in a top split room might mean 5-6 positions lost this week. It's a good deterrent, in theory. Of course, you can also get a penalty for just about anything, including not touching anything, so it makes it a bit harder.

The problem this week hasn't been loss of places due to pens, it's the slightest touch gives a pen. There is no way to race and avoid this type of contact. Most of the time you get those seconds where your wondering if you hit them or not till the big red banner tells you you did. It's a tricky track and this is ridiculous, don't remember it being this bad last time.

@NSP525
Great fun in that last one! Bumper to bumper clean...
My racing times up for now. Very nice sharing the track with you today, look forward to more races with you :)
Absolutely! Hats off to you man, you run consistent clean laps, solid race pace. You definitely get the exits onto the straights better than I am, look for some footage later today or tomorrow!

I'm enjoying the Mustang in Race B. I wonder what WRX users look like, as I catch them on the straights and in the corners.

Next week, Race B I'll use the MARC Cars Mustang. Won't have the downforce of the Mother Chassis Evo/WRX, but I should be good on the straights and tight turns.

people tend to forget that when it comes to the dealing out of penalties, we’re dealing with lines of computer coding. Not a referee in a zebra suit (NFL reference for all you commies overseas ;)). The penalty system is definitely flawed. But at least it sucks equally for everyone. If anything, it’s made us race even cleaner which is never a bad thing.

on another note, I’m an idiot. I’ve been at work all week and yesterday was the first time I could spin some laps. I was damn near ripping out my hair when I couldn’t get below a high 2:03 no matter what!!!!!

.....then I figured out your allowed to qualify in softs :banghead: .

Tried a bunch of cars. Been using the vantage but I think I’m gonna give the corvette another shot. My favorite thing about C this week is the variance of strategies...and the necessity to stay flexible depending on what the field is doing
