Good evening.
I’ve been grinding the alt back up through B rank these last two nights. All Perrier Mustang by @sturk0167, complete with macchiato for Conrod.
I haven’t qualified since Monday. Decided to run a quick session...I’ve been really getting some amazing ffb from the Mustang. This is a very enjoyable car to drive from the cockpit.

These soft tires are a trip, really really enjoying them...Ffb is great.

After all my chat about practice laps the last couple days, I decided it was time to get stuck in to a race at Bathurst. I first ran a few more practice laps to get into the rhythm, using the Corvette after hearing good things. I just couldn't run a lap under 2:04, everything felt slow and the steering just felt lame and distant. So after about 5 laps of trying to get the feel, I abandoned the Corvette and jumped into the AMG GT3 and my first lap was a 2:03. I feel so much more comfortable in that car for some reason. So, entered the race with my qually time set on Monday (2:02:8XX) and was sitting 15th on the grid. The grid was a really solid mix of cars, maybe slightly favouring the Corvette, but a good variation of makes and FR/MR.

The first lap wasn't great. I managed to get myself into a bad position on the first corner, missed my braking point and went crashing through into the sand. Fortunately someone in an R8 did the same thing, although they seemed to enjoy doing donuts and were 15s behind me by the time I managed to get to turn 2! I gained a couple of positions over the first two laps, getting back up to 12th at the end of lap 3, where I decided it was time to jump into the pits and throw on some RM's for a short stint to do the two stop. I'm not sure what the guy in the GTR in front of me was trying to do, but he caused all manner of havoc on the pit entry and I ended up knocking him onto the grass, fearing a penalty but never actually getting one, luckily!

I then proceeded to have two fairly average laps on the RM's, having some good tussles with a couple of Corvettes and the GTR from earlier, and then jumped into the pits again to slap on some RS's for the final 4 laps.

RS just feels right on this car and this track. RM was pretty slippy. RS just feels planted and predictable. My final lap was epic. I started the lap in 12th and was harassing a Corvette I'd been trying to get past for the entirety of the previous lap - I think he was struggling with tyres. I chased him all the way up Mountain Straight and heading into Griffins Bend I had the inside line, took the later braking point, and managed to absolutely nail the pass on the inside, much to my surprise! Over the mountain, I just settled in and got it done, and down Conrod Straight managed to get alongside a Corvette and Aston Martin who had been having a tussle, and slip past them through The Chase, hanging on through the final corner and taking 9th place!

It's not an earth-shattering result, but it was an epic race. I was so tense the whole way round and made loads of little errors, so if I manage to get back on for more, hopefully there will be less little errors and more stronger results!

Started 14/14 in an A+/A/B room. Punted P11 on the last lap, as it divebombed me and the cars ahead at T5. I was keeping my distance from P8 & P14(was in 8th, but went off on the final corner, after serving its penalty) in a heated battle. P11 went off a lap earlier and was trying to catch back up. It harrassed the 4C(kudos to the 4C, when it saw I was making ground, it let me pass). Battling was semi-clean between some of the WRXs, until that P11.

Worth the 3 seconds and I'm still A/S.

So, my people tell me that this guy is an alien.
I threatened him after the race, and he told me I have no chance of doing anything to him.
Later, I exchanged pm's with him, where he told me he gets off on smashing people who touch his car.
Ok. Fine. Let's dance. :mischievous:
But the aliens don't act like that.
Judge for yourself if this is someone who should be revered.

He is a streamer. Must be your fault.

Looking at his stats he certainly doesn't look like an alien - more like a sand-bagger (DR = 38.9K), as @KiepeYai hinted at - or maybe it's an alt account?.
Btw, good quali time on race A @sturk0167 - your time is better than World Tour winner Rubilar's!.

It’s an Alt, he finished 10th in NA for Nations last season, and was in the last Nations T16 race.

I am guessing SF for C
Street Fighter?
Only used these last time at Bathurst and they were surprising good there. Suzuka should be a good circuit and I've always like it, although got to admit it's not my best performing track so maybe I'll do well with this. Race B could be fun too, but I hate RBR so I'll probably just try and beat my K speed target then skip that.

Well here it is my fall from grace yesterday. No idea what I was thinking for strategy but I tried a 2 stop that turned into 3:confused:. Should of been more patient at the start but grboxer was on meds and I got a run up to the cutting but 2 into 1 don't go and the rest is history from there. Was trying to get away from the lead pack by pitting lap 1 but it didn't work out at all. Enjoy!

Just had an excellent clean race C, totally bad driving at the beginning dropped me from Q3 to 9th and I'd given a pen to some poor sod. Started on meds and did a 2 stopper 3/3/3, by lap 4 I'm back in the mix and fighting for 5th which I later give to the guy I'd penned earlier. He then got another pen so I had my 5th and could feel good too, passed 4th and we fought the last 2 laps. I was slightly faster on corners, but he was close enough to slipstream the straight. Last lap Conrod on the tail of 3rd, he muck up the corner and I pass on the chase, but not far enough in front so I have to take last corner wide and he gets the place back. A pretty clean race overall, yet I only gain 2 SR points.
This week has been bad for SR rating, even sitting at the back and just driving slowly it's not easy to make points. It's super easy to lose 20-30 if you try to race though.

WOW my 1st lap at Bathurst was a 5:18.920 and it was the fastest. By the time we started there were only 10 runners, I was in 2nd from Q3 and 1st was obviously paused and timed out. Easy win no racing involved, I went off at Skyline lap 1 and did a nice pirouette at the esses without touching a wall on lap 2. The rest was clean and I won by 15 secs and fastest lap. Still only got 12 SR points, but that's 2 games in a row going in the right direction.

absolutely not a person to be revered. Fast yes but I have had many run ins with him where he will just wait for you to destroy your race over nothing. He will go so far as to wait for you on track then start ramming. He will also tell you in pre race lobby of what he intends to do then do it and will carry it on for the next several races or even days. He is the sole reason I have multiple accts. Fast yes... POOR SPORT YES..... REVERED ... NO

Mediums fest again next week, Good move PD , Good move :)

And No BOP :boggled:

It's awesome that they have finally listened, and allow softer compounds... I certainly enjoy the racing more, and the pit strategies in the C race are finally meaningful... Also you will notice more variety of cars, since tyre wear is now a critical aspect of which car is faster over the full race distance.. Great work PD.... That's a big "thumbs up" from me.

ps They often say "no BOP" when dedicated cars are provided. Buy you can't change the settings in the provided cars (and you can't use your own livery).

Could be RBJ
Edit: or the F1500-TA. Now that would be epic!
Please, please be the F1500T-A! Though that might also be too short of a race. RB Jr. would be cool too. If Race C is the SF again, I'll be spending all week in Race B trying to make the Corvette work against the Supra METAs. Yamagiwa Gr.3 is one of my favorite combos in this game, and it should be even better on Mediums now.
Yamagiwa sounds like Beetle, Evo and WRX to me.
META will be the Supra unless one of the cars that got buffed is now faster than it.

I'd love the F1500T! Haven't had the chance to really race one yet, would be a really fun week.

The Corvette is such a revelation on the Mountain!! I have been driving the DBR 9 all this week and thought I'd try the Corvette just for fun. And boy it is FAST! Got my first win for the week at Panorama with the Vette.

I was stuck at 2.03.083 in quali time with the DBR 9. Within 3 laps with the Vette, I dropped into the 2.02.8, and then much lower with a few more laps in. This meant I started on pole in a B/S lobby and took a WIN with a 2 stopper.

Now, while the Vette is FAST and better than the DBR 9 almost everywhere on track, the esses down the mountain need to be taken carefully. Push the Vette too hard and it snaps immediately and will wipe out any advantage it had over the DBR 9. Took me a few laps to learn how to go down the esses, but once you are past that, it is SUPER QUICK! The best part about the Vette is that you can brake much later down the chase and carry more speed into the left-right handers. This is FUN :)
