I'm curious what the top times at RBR will get down to this week. I ran some laps tonight and got down to a 21.6. I guess being at a track I know well helps. It took about 20 laps to get there, but I knew I would get into the 21's after about 5 because I could tell that it was just a matter of puting it all together and getting a clean lap. I hope this means I'll be on pace to run up front in a couple races. With my pitiful DR and SR ratings right now, maybe I'll get some rooms where I can get up front and not have to worry about penaties. Not really my idea of a fun race, but I'll take a few run-aways to get my ratings back. I'm sure once I get back to SR-S, and closer to A, I'll get plenty to challenge me.
So...what seems to be the prefered number of stops? I've yet to run on hards, but have seen some say it's worth the extra stop to run mediums most of the race.

At the RBR tonight, statistically my best track and I finished with 2 wins and a second. But yeah, was reset last week so I'm beating up guys not quite at my pace. Managed a 21.7 in qualy, ill take that.

Race pace a real concern, even on the mediums I am not turning good laps, with a 21.7 qualy id expect to be turning mid 23s but I am often in the 24s. Pretty clear I am going tobget my rear handed to me as I get my sr back up.

I get murdered out of the second big stop, the slow uphill right, just murdered, lost a solid half secondba lap there to the guy that beat me.

Daily Race C...

I started out with the Epson NSX - the only Gr.2 I had - and it ended up horrible. The moment any wear or oversteer reaches the rear tires, it becomes near undrivable for me. Maybe a more skilled driver can get more out of it.

I have a lot of issues with the track. My main ones come out of turns 3, 9 & 10.

First, turn 3 is the prime divebomb location. People will try to go for the overtake from 0.5s - 1s back, if you leave the inside open. And it will be extremely awkward to exit once they make it stick. Since this sector 1 and half of sector 2 is so slipstream heavy, it's actually very annoying to race against someone who actually goes for it regularly. I'd argue it's better to make the move before the corner to save the headache. Lots of time to be lost here...

Turn 9 comes up fast and you can easily overshoot both the exit and the pitlane. Coupled with turn 10, you can get the car to spin on the kerbs and receive a penalty for track limits. Simply don't mess around and let the rear tires near them.

In my first race at Red Bull today the car info banners drove me nuts. All the traffic is lined up left for the first three straights and turns and the high 100 markers were blocked by the banners in all three spots. Of course it was worse because I started 16th and was in a never ending train of cars. First track that this was a big problem for me. Going to have to turn the banners off I guess... Can I turn them off??

I've now realized that the new schedule first appeared on Sunday at 11PM PST, not Monday the following hour. It was around that time I entered Daily Race A and won it in a Peugeot 208 GTI. Eleven hours and ten minutes later, I had won Daily Race B in a McLaren F1 GTR. In total, I had at least one daily race win for five consecutive days.

I tapped a car going into pit lane and got a 4 second slowdown :dunce:

Lesson learned, do not follow unknown drivers into the pits who are liable to slow down randomly...
Not following them in is just as dangerous since they slow down on the apex without any warning.

I ran some qually laps in it last night and put myself right in the middle of 6 GT-R's on my friends list. It should be competitive...
Door #11(I'm A/S). A+/A/B room. 18/18. 1RH/6RM/RM. Finished 11th. Could have been in 7th, but a known player was blocking me and another early stopper. However, the other early stopper raced me fair and square. We both had cracks at the blocker. The blocker tried a last attept to slow early and punt the other player, but backfired. We had RMs and split the blocker(on RH) either side of T2 and bolted.

From yesterday. It's clear what people consider META...View attachment 993722
Almost as bad as Tsukuba the other week - I was in a Huracan in Q10 with a Alfa 4C, an RCZ and an M4 behind me, the first 9 cars were the WRX. And that's almost exactly how the finishing positions looked, except a few names switched around in the top 9.......

Had been running the RC-F, but new day so thought I'd try the other 2, alt can't afford all 6.
So NSX, terrible game, punted at 1st corner then continually getting pens for hitting the slow guy in front...it's B FFS braking early is maybe expected but half way down the straight? Think the guy was out of his class rather than dirty though...well until later when he tried to punt me, but aimed for where he would take the corner not anyone else. Was slower than the Lexus, but the killer was the tyre wear, doing 5h/8m and the last 2 laps were dodgy. Might try again, but for me very doubtful.
Lastly the GT-R, tyre wear was probably the best and 4/9 might be poss with even 3/10 for those who are good with tyres. Times were a bit slower, but I think that would change, the big difference might be Remus as I wasn't getting bogged down in 2nd when I took the corner a bit off. Still if I took it right everytime in the Lexus that wouldn't be an issue.
Will maybe try the GT-R again, but honestly I'd say there wasn't enough difference for most of us to gain from. Good players might get faster times from the best car, but most of us get the best times from the car we like most.

I always use the car I find I can drive hardest, even if there's another car which is faster but I can't tame it. I find the GTR pretty epic but it can be very twitchy, so I tend to go for the Lexus. I can't get on with the old NSX - the new one is much better but I still put that third out of the new ones. For me it's 1. Lexus, 2. Nissan, 3. Honda...

Sounds hilarious. If you have the replay send it forwards for the Idiots of the week videos.

I've got no brakes :(

Damn. You'll have to use other cars. Seems to be a common technique. Probably why I'm slow.

I'll try to break down the individual incidents to give my side of the story:

Incident 1: This one surprised me, usually the ghosting system is fairly reliable (I wouldn't say good because I think it should always be turned off, aside for jumpy connections). I've never seen a car rejoin at that angle to the track without ghosting, weirdly nobody took a penalty for it.

Incident 2: I think the first part is pretty self explanatory, the SC430 moves over when I'm already there and committed to the corner, just a racing incident but a penalty for forcing him off the road seems harsh! The RCF was almost an accidental overtake, once I was off on the dirt it was pretty much drifting.

Incident 3: This one I could sense trouble so hung back but when you do that in low DR lobbies the car behind will always go for the lunge. 3 wide a bit of rubbing is inevitable but it all looked pretty non-consequential.

Incident 4: Somebody else will have to explain this one to me, I thought side to side contact penalties were off in sport mode, the blue car caused a crash at the next corner but that's not my doing.

Incident 5: He said he had been punted from behind but the penalty system decided neither deserved a penalty (0.5s is always track limits).

That's how to lose 22 SR in one race
