My 1 race this evening was awesome. Race A. Recognized most of the top of the grid, rare these days, even rarer in the evening. First time matched with DR A in while.

It was kind of spread out after a lap for me. Just under 2 sec front and back, good pace, car gets super fun. :D

I dont quite have the pace to run with my high b, low A peers at sardegna, qualifying mid to low pack and often looking in my mirrors. But, I am making up a lot of places pitting into open air and putting in 2 hot laps, sometimes gaining 6 spots in the process.

Guys need to chill, there is no shortage of quite fast guys with zero patience, even not trying to be dirty so to speak but want to pass on every corner. You keep doing that and you lose momentum and I just keep on defending the inside. If they took a few corners to line me up theyd pass me....but no.

Disappointed with what guys get away with, the last lap lunges are crazy, guys gaining 2, 3, 4 spots on the tight left hander end of lap by diving in from miles back, pushing everyone off and driving off. Its nuts.

There was some good racing too though, hard but fair, inside...outside, good stuff. Guys in Porsche and nsx, bless their hearts, but they make it fun.

Oh, on pit exit guys need to pick a line, I often trip over guys that sort of half heartily move to the mushy middle, left or right please.

Had two good race C in NA this morning, both with GTplaneteers in them.
The first I started as p4 and had a clean run except one guy dive-bombing me at T2.
Nice to see you in race @ILLEAGLE_34

Second was a faster lobby with several A racers. I started p12 and had a good view to a dirty driver in a Mustang for 4 laps.
He was "subtle dirty" like letting someone through at the beginning of the chicane to sideswipe them innthe end of it or just "missing" the brake marker so he tapped the car ahead in the hairpins.
So when I got a runnon him I knew to be careful. I delayed turn-in after slipstreaming by (he lifted to get a good aim) and he missed me. He barely hung on ro the track but I could leave him enough behind to fewl safe for a while.
He tried again lap 9, and I faked him again.
In that he fell back a lot and finished 8 or 9.

Up ahead @williams_v_r was taking the podium

To my biggest surprise i had one of the cleanest and enjoyable racing of my GT Sport career. Race A, A-B/S grid, leading 4 Clios became a pack after couple of corners. 1-2 and 3-4 switching positions back to back. Just a minimal unintentional tiniest bump at a corner once. Everybody gave room to each other tru the race.

I wish every race would be like!

Edit: Btw yesterdays racing with GOTMAXPOWER was very clean too.

Today i started with the momoz-v2 cheater at first race and dissappointed but the last race was worth the pain caused by the morons before. :)

Agreed, but that first bit is my problem:lol:
I've been fortunate that I've been starting top 4 in most races. If I tip over into the next split and start 6th or below, then I would have a problem. I have qualified slightly above my rank with this one with a 38.9 though - that is +2.6%, whereas my others have been +3.x%.

What's your take on NA vs EMEA lately? Hoping for a BS (lol) assessment.

I feel it's cleaned up here. A lot less useless aggression on the road and in chat. Most incidents I see now are probably accidental.

Or I've just been lucky.

Probably lucky. The 2 weeks prior to this have shown me that it's clean at the front, still bumpy from the middle to the back. I haven't driven every combo during those weeks, but the ones I chose to run had opportunities for DR destruction. Rally week & Seaside II are my references here.

I've found Race A to be very clean this week if you can clear turn 1/2 in the top 3. It gets messy (though not necessarily dirty) below that.

I wonder if it is because both cars can kill you if driven less than ideally, so the idiots have gone for B or C.

If they made all 3 races one week Stratos one makes I'm sure the idiots would run back to their holes and stop playing.

Make an alt account so you can race every week. Just park the main for races you’re good at or enjoy. 👍
LOL.......... I have 5 accts.

My main acct ( one with most wins I made too many enemies early on (some my doing some not) so I do not use that often.

Then i started making accts to see how fast i can get to A+. problem now is I want to keep them there and not lose DR on tracks that either I am a little off pace or get stuck mid pack qualy with all the divers and now with the new ptly system it's a nightmare. At lemans 3 weeks ago always up front had great races these last 2 weeks and now the upcoming week are for me .........EHHHHHH

It's a lot cleaner in both parts compared to when the penalty system was changed.
Still a little bit more dirty in NA than in EMEA but that can just be time of day. I am at B/S both places, I think there's 500 Dr points between my accounts.
Edit: the nature of C with the long pitstop and my strategy of undercutting meand I run a good deal in clean air and do most of my passing when they pit. That of course skew my opinion, hadn't thought of that. I saved replays of C on both my accounts so if you like you can check it out dor yourself, jumping to any part of the pack you like.

In that case, just sacrifice one of them for fun. You already know you can get the points in try hard mode. Let yourself have a little fun on one of them. :)

To be honest that is part of the issue for me as well. The game for now is not fun for me when lemans was up it was more like I have to race rather than I want to race because of the combo so after that I decided to take a week off which became 2 which it looks like it might be 3. Even with Lemans with all the good finishes driving the DR well up to A+ on the ACCT i was using i wasnt having that much fun.

Thanks for that.

Was having a great race this morning. Wheel unplugged, lap3 I think. My fault, must have knocked it or something so the plug was barely in before the race. Could have waited for the wheel to re-calibrate but got in enough laps for a good time so just got out of the way. :D

That calls for opinion, specs and data.

Opinion:
When I was new, Group 3 was too much car for me. I opted for stability over raw speed.
  • Beetle (it makes a sound like you are going really fast... but really aren't)
  • Hyundai Genesis (it makes a sound like something is going to die... now I find it comforting)
I learned TCS=0 on those at Mount Panorama and credit those cars for one of my early bumps in performance.

Other good stability options are:
  • Mitsubishi Evo Lancer
  • Vantage
  • Lexus RCF
  • Nissan GT-R
Specs:
Kudos does a decent job to categorize the cars here: https://www.kudosprime.com/gts/carlist.php?cartype=1. I don't know if it accounts for BoP.

Data:
Finally, the lap records are here https://gtsport.r1s3.net/laprecords/26/13 , but you need to allow for recent BoP updates.

Great post. When I just started out I was looking for something driveable in gr3 as well. The DBR9 never gets mentioned because it is not usually competitive, but I had fun with it because it was stable. I like the 911 for ease of driving. I know the audi R8 LMS is considered twitchy, but once you get used to what conditions will cause an oversteer buttonhook nose-dive (lol), it is otherwise easy to drive. I liked it at Brands Hatch.

As I mentioned before, the 2 weeks prior to this have been pretty good to me. My points place me in the B DR class. If it wasn't for some other jerk drivers affecting my SR (got me reset), I would likely be DR A. Anyhow, I fully expected those 2 weeks to be more carnage, SR punishments, & DR resets. I qualified for the races I wanted to run & was surprised to find I was in the top 2-3 for each race I entered. From there, the racing was refreshingly clean, even if that meant running away from the field. I haven't touched my sacrificial account for over 2 weeks, because I haven't needed to joust from the middle of the grid. Pick one of yours, say "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead", & try to enjoy the races.

Next week Race B : Toyota FT-1, try it, its fun and fast.
yea I have used that before and probably tried every GR3 at least once. I think the big issue for me right now is i have to find a way to start having fun or even liking the game again. maybe its the stale combos that have been done over and over again ????

In soccer/football you can detect a "dive/embellishment" if the player goes down without outstretching his hands to break the fall. It is simple human nature to protect yourself.

In racing, for an accidental tap, it is human nature to apply the brakes harder. The dirty driver taps and is miraculously "throttle ready"! The replay never lies.

Give some lobby racing a try if you haven’t already. Find a solid set of people that race in your fashion. Even if you get last place every time. Speaking from experience Its still fun and a lot to learn by racing better driver’s. When you figure that out let me know:banghead::cheers:

Had a look at three of my accounts. The Spacedust Daddy is the longest, but so many ups and downs. Mainly due to the penalty system. One big drop, was after I got S/S. Just decided to drop to the bottom and start back up.

The other two(Oh5RX8 and Super Taikyu) steady up up up. This new "penalty" update changed everything.

I too, was able to experience mostly clean racing today. Race B/RBR/Gr4.

The "irredeemable" that punted me the other day... had another race... he finished DFL... SR -24... must have had a rampage. It is very difficult to lose 24 SR with today's pen system. He has not raced since. He may switch accounts... who knows. Others are getting wise to him.

Today was wonderful.

I started Q9. Q10 pit-maneuvered me two days ago. Sigh! We diced a little. At T3 right-hander he tapped me and sent me into the sand but no reset. I got back on the track. He pulled to the right and let me past! He apologized after the race and I let him know "That was very nice!". His stats indicate he was always an SR.D/SR.C type. We will put him into the redeemable category!

And that is not all. It was the second time today that I received a "tap and let-past". The first time was from a clean driver though I did not know him.

It is messy and bumpy but it is much improved. Some bad actors have left the stage. Others are improving their game-play.
