No qualy in the TT, for two races in my original(from GT6 days) account(B/S). A/S players and some S/S. First race was fine, until another TT, which doesn't know how to be quick in it, despite having a flash Audi SPort livery (My Audi Sport livery is much better :D), decides to bump me to slow me down. I was giving it courtesy after it straightlined the chicane. Didn't show the nose at any point.
Once it runs wide on the final lap, I'm gaining and moving over for the pass at the back straight and it taps me hard, but not to punt me. Then, towards the finish, it moves over to the flag as if to celebrate a cheesy 8th place.

I typed, "You don't want to race fair?" and the player leaves.

Next race, was way lively. More RCZs and it's tight all race, from 6th to 16th. Plenty of courtesy, even though there are some bumps due to GT physics. Not really any divebpombs and players behind/in slipstreams, were slowing before corners!

Anyway, I moved up from 14th to 8th, by way of penalties and cars going off ahead.

I ran two B in EMEA this morning, took the opportunity to get my name on the top 10 ( lasted maybe 5 seconds, but was enough to get a screenshot that I shal frame and put on my wall) and ran the first race in the Stang, for same position and the second in the WRX for one up. But it's so boring to drive.

Hopped over to NA and brought out the Stang again, my 2:06 gave me starts from p6 to p8, finished 4, 5, 4 and 4.
Got showed off once by a fellow in a Jaguar, I choose to see it as a mistake.
Then one guy in a RCZ tries to force my Mustang into pitlane when I get a better run out the chicane. That was futile but I returned the favour and he went off in last turn.
Good fun morning. Mostly clean, but right hard racing.

Edit: same time was worth p16 in EMEA on my main that is 3K less DR...

Race C at Suzuka is quite fun tbh. Always a challenge to race around Suzuka. Had a couple of fun races with a nice German driver.

Just remember you have to use both the hard and medium tyres. I started on mediums and did 7 laps and changed to hards, whilst most stopped on lap 6. Seemed a nice selection of cars, I was in the beetle, but had Lexus, Renault, Audi & Supra all in there. Even got to see Basic Ollie, but he crashed :)

Not much time between races though, you can only get 1 lap (about 3 mins when I tried) in so is difficult to improve your lap time if you want to do races. Will probably have to get down to a 1:57 if I want to race later in the week.

On the topic of controllers, anyone used the PS5 controller for GT Sport? What's your experience with it? I got a PS5 but was so used to using the DS4 that I've continued to do so..
I do, but can't give you a comparison, as I've never held a DS4.

If you use the point of your thumb on [] and your other part on X you don't need to move it.

There is also a back-,button that can be attached to give you buttons underneath

I use joint of thumb on X and tip of thumb on [] for gears up / down and can easily use triggers for brakes / acceleration.

Been doing some race C this morning at Suzuka. Familiar with track but still trying to figure out the car I want to race. Tried a bunch and leaning towards Beetle GR 3 at the moment just because it's fun to drive at this track while still being somewhat competitive. Still some more testing to do so that may change.

Might try race B later as I quite enjoy Nürburgring GP layout. Don't expect I will do it too much 4 laps is just not long enough

Tried it for the Nations kart race. Feels good but PD would have to update the game to get the full features of the new controller.

NurbGP should be fun. Don't care if it's a Scirocco or RCZ Cup. Just hope the ToD have headlights on.
ToD?

14 RCF's!?! That's gotta be some sort of record.
More importantly, is there a collective noun?

I have the day off work so I was able to grab some Monday Morning Racing today. Not the best of starts.

Race A. Qualified 9th with my average lap. In the warm up a random Dutch guy said hi. I didn't recognise the name or recall racing with them before. Maybe a lurker here? A bit of fame I'm not ready for. (I doubt they recognised me from my appearance in Warhorse.) The start went well until the double left handers before the hairpin. As expected with the grid start things bunched up. I got hipped in the first apex and lost positions. But I was still on the back of those ahead. Two cars came together into turn 3 and I was able to go around them heading into the double left. Got shoved again. This time I spun out to the outside. Got going again DFL and several seconds behind. I was thinking about how I was going to call out the Slovenian's dirty driving. However the next lap he pushes a car wide at turn 3. But he waits for them and proceeds to have a private race with them about 15 seconds behind. I then realise it was just a mistake and he isn't inherently dirty. He just picks who he waits for. Either way I cross the line 10th ruing what could have been.

Race B. Decided to take the WRX out as it should be similar to the Lancer at the top of the leaderboard. Of course my 2:05 was seconds too late to count so I started 7th instead of 4th. But from the practice session I could see the track limits seemed to be quite brutal here. (Apart from the ridiculous use of turn 4) Race started o.k. I was able to stay with the pack. But I did keep going backwards as I braked for slipstream and those behind decided to be aggressive. Then the car just decided it didn't want to stop in turn 10. Next lap I got punted into turn 10 and I knocked the guy in front. We all went wide and I decided to take revenge and try to pit manoeuvre the culprit in the RCZ. They exited stage left but must have held it well as they managed to get the better run through 11. (My entry was compromised.) He did get a 1 second penalty from somewhere from running wide. I then also got a 1 second penalty from cutting turn 3 a bit. Either way the race never recovered and I crossed the line 8th as others found trouble too. With a handful of C's in the room I was quite nervous of dropping a load of DR. I somehow even managed to loose some SR.

Race C. I wasn't going to try the popular R8 as with tyre wear it would try and kill me. As it's a Honda track I thought I'd try the NSX for a change. In the words of Nuke, 'It did not go well.' It drove well but decided to be loose on braking at times and thus I knew it would not keep me safe for 10 laps with wear. Decided to jump into the RX Vision instead. Much better and managed to get my laptime down to 2:00.5 which was closer than I normally get. (I was able to do multiple mid 2:00's so my pace could be good and the RX felt more stable. (Thank you BOP update!) My unrealistic goal for the week will be to get a sub 2 min time.
I qualified 2nd and most people were seconds behind so I felt good going into this. I was able to stay with the leader for a lap. But he cut the Casio Triangle a bit and got a 1 second penalty. The lead was mine I thought though the Greek behind was putting some pressure on me. However I cut Degna 1 too much and got a 0.5 penalty myself. Damn. Then coming out of Spoon I got on the power a smidge too early and spun going a bit too wide. I was facing backwards. However the car didn't want to spin around the right way and I lost at least 15 seconds before the game took pitty and reset me allowing me to get going again. And not to mention the PZ was there too. I was now outside the top 10. I had to concentrate on getting my head down and relying on my pace. A few people fell off and I caught the 3 cars fighting ahead. I was right behind a Frenchman going into 130R in his GT-R. Whilst I only lift through there he tapped the brake and I of course tapped him wide. I made sure to stay behind him and let him carry on. I stayed close and then into turn 1 he went wide. I don't think he spun it as I would but it did allow me past. I pitted at the end of lap 5. I got a good outlap and pulled away from the group behind struggling on their tyres. Others pitting got me back to 5th. The next lap I went a bit wide through Degna 1 and the car twitched to the inside. I held it but it put me onto the grass on the inside with the braking zone now here. I held it but could only sail into the barrier. I reversed and Got reset thankfully at the exit of Degna 2. However this put the Frenchman from earlier on my back. He was obviously quicker on softs now. He was better into turn 1 and got me. He at least raced well and broke early for Casio Triangle to not punt. So fair play to them. Now it was my turn to try and stick to his bumper. I know the GT-R loves slow corner acceleration and predictably he pushed it too much out of Degna 2 and spun it allowing me back past. He was around 3 seconds back now so I took it steady for the next 2 laps to cross the line 5th. However 3rd forgot to use hards and thus I gained 4th. The Frenchman also got the 1 min and thus our battle was moot. Thankfully my pace made up for my errors. Podium was easily there but in a more competitive lobby I would have been DFL. Thankfully the good placing allowed me to gain some DR.
Will be staying at Suzuka this week I think. See ya there.

Daily Race B is something for me this day.

Due to my somewhat desperation to try and rack some wins and recover some of my lost DR, I decided to cave in to the meta and use the RCZ for this week in hopes of racking some wins and recover DR.

And luckily despite me still getting used to how the RCZ performs, was able to rack some wins and recovered 3K DR for today. It's a sign of good omen for things to come.

Had some close racing too for today like this for example. I look forward to racing more in Daily B.

Worth a shot, but I don't like your chances. The game probably looks at your last track location for the respawn and since you don't get control until well past the bridge (if the old clip I found is accurate) you will likely get reset to about the hairpin. Such a dumb bug to have persisted in game for so long.

Race C has been really good with me last week. Manage 3 wins (1 from the back) and pretty much on the podium in all races. Clean races for most of them.

Had one race with @KosmoKazi and we unfortunately made contact. Hope to race you again soon!

I put a total of 2 560 kms (1 590m) on my brand new Supra.
Climbed up from DR.29 000 to DR.45 000
Even when starting from the back I ended up with best possible finishes, those still in front of me had much better FL than me.

This week will be depressing compared to this. This morning Race A was a punt fest trough the whole first sector. Starting in Top 3-4 only to end last by the end of first lap. Tomorrow, i will try my luck at Race B.

It works just fine, I use it when I don't want to haul my wheel and stand out. It doesn't use any of the Dual Sense features though which would be cool. It would be nice to have the force feedback triggers for accelerator and brake.

If anybody is wondering if their time is good enough to enter a daily race you can try https://gtblade.com it checks your time against other people with the same DR as you and lets you know what the average time is for that DR and if your time is better than it or not. It also shows you how many people are faster/slower than you by DR rating too. (Full disclosure, I made it so if this is classed as spam then feel free to delete it but think it might help people)

whoa, that's pretty cool. I like it. Well done sir.

Yes, from memory it's at least 20 seconds to the next car (19th) once you get going, it's a very stupid bug, maybe it'll make an appearance in @Tidgney weekly race guide later on.

:gtplanet::cheers:

I'm no programmer, but I'm sure the glitch has to do with the track crossing. Seems to me that all they would need to do is group the cars a bit tighter at the start so the last car isn't on the bridge, and it wouldn't happen. They could even go to the same spacing once they started moving.

Edit: On the subject of bugs. I swear I didn't quote Jim's post, though I did like it. Not sure how it got here. Maybe I missed the button??

Hey, you are on here after all! It was fun racing you... I think we shared a few over the week, including my Alt.

You were too kind to give back the position after that contact in T1... it was as much my fault as anyone's... that guy's one-red-bar network glitching was making it impossible to hit your marks when running close to him, and I overcooked it into the turn and he turned into me, I think. But thanks for being a sport about it... that finish put me at 40,001 DR, crossing the 40k mark for the first time. Hope to catch you again out there, we are pretty evenly matched on pace, and I know you race clean, so fun racing with you.
