My race started really well, was up to p5 and all over the group of 3 just in front, but on lap 3 I got punted off in the second last turn. Punter got a 2 second pen and I dropped to p9. Thought he might have just braked too late but no sign of giving back a place. I caught him after he served his penalty on the next lap and, with half a length lead, held the outside into turn 1. I gave him plenty of room and didn’t attempt to hit the apex. He just decided the quickest way around was to push me off so he could access the outside kerb. I hit the astroturf and spun.

No apology or acknowledgment after the race. Hence the less than polite message.
I saw that turn 1 incident so was cautious around him. He got himself a penalty or something, I just was happy I didnt have to deal with him at all. Shame for your races but it was good to see you out there. Hasn't been happening much lately

Started last in Race A. Got up to 4th by lap 2. Passed 3rd and had a battle with a blocking P1. Slowed us down enough for P3 to shadow us. I got ahead of P1 as it blocks the inside(hey, buddy. Secret: shallow entrance means no momentum on corner exit). Anyway, I'm ahead for the final lap. Into T3 hairpin. P3 divebombs P2 into me. I'm down to 3rd. I get 2nd again, as P2 does the blocking thing again.

Final corner, I brake early because, P1 is expecting me to divebomb. Nope. P1 runs wide!
Oh look! P3 divebombs me and ruins us both overtaking P1. What a knucklehead.

No words after the race.

I haven’t been driving dailies very much for the last few weeks. Work has been taking too much of my time and the combos have been uninspiring. The times I do play are generally too late for NZ folk.

It’s a good feeling to see friendly faces in the dailies though. Sometimes I feel like I’m set adrift in a sea of nothing but dunderheads. I’ve started making a point to thank anyone who races clean so they know they’ve been seen and appreciated.

Don't think I'll be doing many races this week. I really don't like racing at Tsukuba - a clean pass is almost non existent. Might have a go at Race C to practice a bit for Wednesday. What sort of tire breakdown are people thinking - 8M/5S?

Thankfully no work today so was able to get on nice and early.
Race A.
Only got a couple of laps in before matching but steadily improved. I know I can got at least a second and a half quicker because I managed that in the race. Still I was 11th on the grid. Made a good start and passed someone around the outside of the chaos in turn 1. Someone span and I gained another. From there it was a case of status quo as pace was similar in front and behind. Crossed the line 9th. Pleased I kept her facing the right way. Also has to be the cleanest race A I have seen. Only 1 person picked up a penalty. I'm sure this was an exception rather than the rule.

Race B.
Jumped into my R8 as it did well on this combo last time. From my recent Manu races I am starting to love MR Gr3 cars. As such I was able to get her around in a decent pace. Started P8. A few people had issues and I was able to get myself up to 5th by the end of lap 1 despite a wobble coming out of Campsa. The Pug behind was closing a little. Lap 3 I got on the power too early in turn 3 and I went wide which meant I went a little too deep into turn 4. However I ran wide at turn 7 the lap before and had a 0.5 penalty. This allowed the Spaniard behind to pass. However he was too eager into turn 10 and ran wide allowing me back past. He then mucked up the final chicane and this allowed me a gap to finish comfortably 5th. I might try the Pug to see how see compares.

Race C.
This was an awesome race. Set a time good enough for 6th on the grid. Came out of TGR and 2 cars came together. One went off right and the other disappeared as soon as they touched. (Discoed?) Up to 3rd now. The 2 cars ahead tangle between GR Supra and Panasonic. 2nd meets the barrier on the outside. Up to 2nd and gaining on 1st. I set the fastest lap in the first half of the race lap 3 (only beaten by those on a contra strat). After a couple of days where I had to absorb pressure it was refreshing to put some on for a change. My fellow Brit took it very well. They dived in lap 5 and I went to the end of 7. (Tyres felt fine.) My extra 2 laps helped me get ahead of him in the pit phase, but I lost the net lead on cold hards. Then it was a case of before. I seemed to have a better sector 3 and him sector 2. This meant I was always on him into TGR, but he defended very well. This meant I had to follow him home in P2 as P3 was rapidly catching on softs. (1 more lap and I'd have been caught)
Apart from the fact he constantly weaved on the main straight (a penalty for that would have got me the win IRL) it was a very clean defence. We thanked each other for an awesome race after. If you want to take a gander at the race I have shared it with the tag GTP.

Probably a Monday thing, but a good start to the week at least.

Had a trio of races in the Fugu Z late last night, on the Asia/Pacific servers on my alt account. It was quiet in the lobbies, only 7 in my first race ranging from A/S to me on E/B (only done two races on this account before this time). Q4 with a 2:19:9XX, all Japanese Fugu's aside from a 350Z in 6th. Started well, got into third on the first corner, challenging second around the outside on the first big left-hander, and came to realise why people hate the lower lobbies so much! Instantly run off into the grass by the second placed driver, spun and ended up last. Fought my way back to 4th by the end of the race, with my friend from lap one 2s in front of me in third.
So, on to the next race, and there's my friend from race 1 again, in 3rd again, me in 4th. He starts by taking out the guy in second, who forces the guy in first wide, and my mate takes first, with me hot on his tail. Chasing him into the hairpin just before the sector 3 timer, I gave him a well-earned punt into Narnia, earning myself a 2s penalty but happy to have dealt him some justice from the first race. He was in last until the final lap where he slipped into 5th. I ended 2nd, some 8s off the lead car.
I then bailed out for a few mins to get myself into a different set of lobbies. This time there were 10 in the lobby, including 4 aussies and a kiwi, the rest being from Japan. I had a great start from 4th, slipping into 2nd by the top of the first hill, had a great battle with the guy in the lead over the opening lap, taking 1st before the finish line. And thats where I remained for the remainder of the race, taking fastest lap and a clean race bonus.
I actually quite enjoyed learning to tame the Fugu Z on that circuit, so going to miss it a little...

It’s hards and mediums. I’ve done 7h6m pretty comfortably. 6h7m should be possible.

What's the breakdown if you just use car classes instead of models for the N cars? Even though I haven't had the game long, I feel like N400 and above is not used much.

It's definitely not, but I think the reason is the front end on those cars in those categories they understeer for years and I think cause even more carnage. Although the odd special stage route x without penalties has happened

It would be a change from the ones that oversteer for years though.

I may not plan to enter any of this week's Daily Races, but I might just do some qualifying for Race A, if only to see if I can beat my suggested time on KudosPrime. I imagine I'll want the BB set to at least -2, maybe even -5; those Porsches have been known to be a bit oversteer-prone, and certainly in my experience.

I went -2 and the car was fine.

Is 2.32.824 a good Q time for Race A?
Should put you top of the leaderboard I'd think.

Another week ended with the Fugu Z. Spent most of the week racing in A from the back, because the car is a hoot! DR climbed all week, but SR took a hit early, and was a challenge. The new penalty system is rewarding bad behavior. Had one race end with me running 2nd and closing on the last lap, and a non-driver in 3rd, who had been knocking me around earlier, took me out and into the wall at the hairpin and he got a 1 second penalty for it (finally!) I caught him going up the hill since he caught the dirt on exit, and was going to try to pass either in the downhill right, or undercut the final left. He was all over, blocking and brake checking onto the straight. I managed to avoid the penalty then, got to his outside on the run to the finish, and he knocked me sideways and into the wall. I finished in a spin, with a 2 second penalty, which dropped me from 2nd to 5th. No additional penalty for him. Typical...

I did end the week with a no Q run from 11th for the win, 4 seconds clear of the only A driver in the field. Got a little help early on L2 when the guy behind me tried to spear me at T3 and came back on to tangle up everyone from 3rd on back. Ran down 1st on the climb up the hill at the end of L2 and did a low 17 on the final lap for the win. First win from the back in a while. Gotta try to climb back from SR-A this week somehow.

Question:

Like you I have seen other make the statement after "... and then I made a no QT run". By that I understand you have removed your QT time so that you can run from the back. How do you delete the QT time? Or, are you using an alt where no QT has been set.

I have started doing some of those no QT runs on an alt to experiment and get the feel for the race dynamics.
