You're just not ever going to see that again, cars are so planted, they are running 2.03's in qualifying now. Back then though, you could force the car through sheer will and talent. That was a PSYCHO CHARGER!
Fabulous footage!
I don't want to derail this thread, but this video shows why he was so loved and respected. This is 10 years before the previous video. He is mid-race, working his way back through the field and lapping as fast as anyone on the track. He was just always composed and unflustered. An Australian sporting icon.
(it's also a pretty good lap guide)
Either that or the top 100 fastest qualifying will have 100 identical times.>SSRX Race A next week
So basically, don't even think about qualifying and stay in the back of the field until the timing line?
OMG turn 1 lap 1, it is SO HARD to judge eh. So easy to get it wrong wither way. You all need t tune into the 1000 every october and admire the pros hauling 700HP and 1300KG worth of taxi cab through there. Bugger all downforce and skinny tyres, it's madness.
This is worth a watch, it's total genius, Peter was the absolute master. Look at the lack of grip
Watch carefully at the chase, she gets seriously wobbly, brown undies stuff. The 2.16 was actually competitive back then, V8 and all.
Earlier in the night, I had won this week's Daily Race A. It was my 119th daily race win and my 128th in Sport Mode overall.

I remember a VW dragster that had N2O/Propane plumbed inside the tubular frame. It was as fast as the V8s.Top 20 racing cheats: “If you ain’t cheatin’ you ain’t tryin’.” (msn.com)

Doesn't practice mode in a lobby work for what you need?Frustratingly, there's no way to do a fuel economy test for the N24 race, next week.
I tried Custom Race, but the multipliers won't go high enough.
I tried creating a lobby race, but it won't let me do a Q lap on my own (didn't want to involve anyone else).
Is there a way to do it solo, that I'm not thinking of?
I think it's pretty dumb that we can't do whatever we want to in the Custom Races.
I don't think there's fuel burn in practice.Doesn't practice mode in a lobby work for what you need?

Well, I had to thank The Lord the Scirocco behind me couldn't maximize its speed to catch me. It only had one red bar.Just saw @spacedustdaddy rocking the 86 at Bathurst… how’d it go?
Start a practice/ race lobby. As soon as you create it press start race. That might work.Frustratingly, there's no way to do a fuel economy test for the N24 race, next week.
