Sorry yeah that's what i meant by gt1, the mclaren
I thought you meant the DBR (DBR GT1)...Sorry yeah that's what i meant by gt1, the mclaren
Glad you mentioned that. I often wondered what would be the most maniacal combo for a daily. I figured the Gr 1 Nord would be it. In practice though, the Gr 1 cars are well suited and looks like fun....... snip...
..., why not N24 GR.1. It's been too long!
Try some N1000 cars on sport tires on the NordGlad you mentioned that. I often wondered what would be the most maniacal combo for a daily. I figured the Gr 1 Nord would be it. In practice though, the Gr 1 cars are well suited and looks like fun....
So... in my quest for the most maniacal combo, at the Nordschleife, I switched to the FT-1500 (old Formula 1 1500 cc turbo) and amped it up to about 1000 HP. While it is somewhat manageable at 500 HP the 1000 HP variant is unmanageable and I cannot do a clean lap, further, I have not been able to beat my Gr 1 laptimes but it should be much faster. It layers turbo lag on top of incredible downforce and turning ability. Really hard!
So, yeah, bring on Gr 1 at the Nord. I will be there.
I’ve learned my lessons in the past and will not be racing at Monza this time. I don't want any part of that that mess going into the "first" chicane. People can't navigate it in the first place most of the time. I can't imagine 16 cars all trying to get through that. Suzuka might be my choice next week. It depends if I can get a decent pace in the Gr.1 cars. I'm guessing I will be able to with the softer tire compounds.Next Week:
A: N300 | Tokyo Expressway - Central Outer Loop | 5 laps | SH
B: Gr.3 | Monza - No Chicane | 4 laps | RM
C: Gr.1 | Suzuka | 10 laps | RS/RM | x2 fuel, x7 tyres
I like to bring out the F1 Merc occasionally and do some laps on the Nurb. Shows you just how powerful and engineered these machines really are.Glad you mentioned that. Starting without a Q time, I caught, and passed the leader (cleanly) on the first turn of the final lap.
At turn 4, as you will see, he shoved me out of his way to retake the lead. No problem. I continued to race him cleanly, as I had an ace up my sleeve. I gave him the old sturk Fuji special at the final turn. Look at him flashing his headlights.
He and the third place finisher both freaked the hell out in the post-race chat. Track limits.... blah blah blah.....
But here's the deal: If all it took was one F, and even if I had a pocket full of Fs, guess what?
I still wouldn't give one.![]()

@Pigems I just tagged you to see if you're still here.![]()
I used to do that often, as a 'palette cleanser' and to keep my reflexes sharp (while also helping to develop muscle memory for the 'Ring).I like to bring out the F1 Merc occasionally and do some laps on the Nurb. Shows you just how powerful and engineered these machines really are.
So far I can do 5:40 clean, and 5:20 would be my optimal if I could get that as a clean lap (supersoft tyres tho). I'd be really curious to see what top players could do with that.

My best in the "Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ 2017" is 5:22. I'm by no means a 'top player' but my K' speed score is about 80 and I'm typically decent around the 'Ring when Daily events come up, so it's probably in the middle of the pack. I never really got too obsessive about the best time I could pull off, so much as repetition.
I actually earned that car in a wheel spin! Crazy enough...
(and PS to the moderator: sorry for the double-post... didn't realize mine was the most recent when sitting down again to post reply here)
It isn't actually faster. I've proven it in qualifying. That was an actual LOL and one of the best things I've seen here for a long time!
If I had only known that was the key to a fast third sector at Fuji... could have come in handy a long time ago.
I think he was 'saluting' your excellent move with those headlight flashes.
(and if he has a problem with track limits, you'd think he'd have a problem with the four times he made contact with erratic lines on the prior part of the lap... but ok)
(PS that car looks BA in that dark bronze color)
You may have just inspired me to run some dailies this week after all... hadn't been keen on them at all, but I think I actually did well last time that combo came up, even at a track I hate.
More fun times at Dunlop corner. These two in the mirror, the twins in yellow, the moron bros, had been shoving people around, forcing them off track and generally being a nuisance so I knew exactly what was coming going down the hill. Made sure I pulled way out wide and ..
They're nothing if not predictable
That is funny lol.
It reminds me of a video (nature though):
(how it was able to already generate such speed already is beyond me, but it's só similar)
Me too! I probably did at least 30 practice qualifying laps and had such a hard time getting consistent with it, and no more than I think 2 laps below 1:40.I will practice tonight, Interlagos just annoying the crap outta me.
If I tried the same move in a Gr. 4 or faster class, I'd get the damn track limit penalty. He and the third place finisher both freaked the hell out in the post-race chat. Track limits.... blah blah blah.....

Virtually every race I've been in has been won by a Beetle this week, so I finally decided to try it today. Knocked half a second off my QT, started 14th, pitted end of lap 1, and finished 2nd!Ran a "C" race (used the Beetle with a Halloween livery, lol). I started 18th (dead last) but finished 11th. I had no penalties, pitted at the end of lap 10 (for the unnecessary pit stop), and got a clean race award. Overall a decent outing for my first time racing on that track against actual drivers. I think I can do better on my times with a different car; but I like the Beetle and can drive it well. Plus I did the livery for today just so I could race it, lol.

Good racing this week at Laguna Seca, better than expcted I must say. Spend the week in the Suby and did one last session of Qualification to see what time I can get. 1.22.097 is the time.
This overtake is definitively the highlight of the week and probably one of my best overtake in a long time.
Next week Race B on Monza is a no go for me. The inevitable punt on first chicane and the Sprint Race type will not end up with a smile on my face.
You will find me somewhere in Japan.
