Holy cow, just now I was in race with none other than Coque Lopez! Race C on Fuji. I checked his twitch now just to see it's not fake and nope, he's on twitch right now driving and name is correct.

And if you can believe it, I had one of those ghost races where everyone stands still at the start whole race. Started 12th, finished 10th, drove pretty bad and everyone calling me dirty in the chat after race including him LOL 😆. I am A but half the field was A+.

This was my first race btw after 7 days hiatus. Incredible.

Yes the shrinking player base is definitely an issue. I got matched with D/E today and have had 9 player rooms. Hence also the problem of having the same people on pole all the time. Even when the dirty drivers get caught and get a red A or B even, you still get matched with them next race :banghead:

Evenings have more people playing but it dwindles a lot earlier as well. By 11 PM EST matchmaking starts letting lower SR in again to come to a 14 player room. There isn't much room left between dirty hour and dirty night racing.

It also seems DR A is disappearing? I see so many rooms with 4 or 5 A+/S racing against B/S and lower. A/S is in the minority. I guess the competent players that play a lot all advanced to A+. A side effect from the month long races.

These 'weak' rooms certainly aren't good for anyone chasing DR. I got one disconnect today, wiped out a week of (tiny) DR gains lol. I'll be on in 25 minutes, 7PM start, dirty hour :nervous:. But at least populated rooms!

@Sarajevo89 I think you're looking for the GT7 thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gt7-daily-race-discussion.404847/page-299#post-13839378

This is race C this month :)

I'm glad I did one more race (that one) to meet this driver. Side by side without issues. This is what keeps me going with this game, meeting people like this Argentinian on the track. Never judge a driver by his DR letter (he is B/S) Unfortunately I binned it in the end, an inch too wide to the final straight. I manage to safe the car but the slipstream was gone. Incredible race!

@Sven Jurgens Nice piece of racing, I had a similar experience this morning.

4 races this morning before leaving for work.

8.00 is too early. Only 5 in the room DR.B-C-D. Easy win, good warm-up and race at TC.0 instead of 1.

8.30 still too early. 8 cars on the grid, second is DR.A but could not keep up.

9.00 was better: 11 cars. Unfortunately P*** Flow is there and I had to deal with him again but it didn't turned out his way. I kinda forget about the brake checking thing even if I posted the video yesterday! I have to change my memory tag to "Brake Checker" instead of "Dirty".

After that, I clipped the grass with my rear left in Klostertal and slide all the way to the gravel. Rejoin just in front of @Sven Jurgens and try to keep my cool and just do my things but he eventually pass. Followed him for a while but the dirty air got me at the fast right of Flugplatz and I went wide. Good for a 3rd place from a 2nd starting position.

9.30 was the best one. Started 4th, Mk Range in 3rd. After a rough turn1 with 2 dirty driver, I manage to catch up to Mk Range in 4th and followed him. By the end of lap 1, just before the straight, the American in 2nd miss the turn and we both pass. I felt more confortable following Mk Range than overtake him and have him on my mirror for the whole lap2. So bump draft MK Range on the straight to close the gap to second and escape from the American.

Lap 2, we are closing on 2nd place and at the top of Ex-Muhle he went off, hit the barrier and came right across the track sideways just a fraction of second before us. Close call. Keep my car right behind Mk for the rest of the lap and proceed to draft pass him on the last straight and I got the 2nd place finish.

PSA. Had to find a picture to figure out the bends name. I might be wrong.

@Mc_Yavel I'm racing some more before picking up my kids and this time of day is dead as well. 2pm time slot, 10 people showed up, all ranges, 7 quit before the end. There was one fast A/S driver which I caught up to and passed. He's pretty fast and clean, finished 3 sec behind me. No quitting guaranteed a podium finish

(MK Range was the one that dropped back when he saw that grid line up)

Got to race in the evening to get full grids nowadays. I hardly ever start past the bend anymore.

Back to racing in the evening and yep #1 and #2 starters, dirty. It seems the end game of no penalties is no more clean drivers willing to compete for the finish. Most have left, the rest either doesn't qualify (I'm still starting mid pack over 2 weeks in) and drives clean and patiently from the back (well most, there are exceptions but far fewer than before) or drops back at the start... The awesome driver I was racing with last week has not shown up anymore this week :(

GT7 is likely headed the same way. Online racing already has a bad reputation, online gaming in general, and without moderation plus a proper penalty system, you can't have a fair sustainable sport. And if you call them out they can sling insults at you like Cerdo HDP (Mother****ing pig, I had to look it up) which apparently doesn't breach code of conduct according to Sony.

Oh well, my kids only play in parties with their friends, no randoms for them. And there are still plenty clean drivers left, just not at the top anymore. (Some exceptions, yet 99% of races has someone nasty at the front) It defeats the drive to get better. Once I'm past all the clean drivers, I stop pushing and finish the race in whatever position I'm in :/

Second race, 4 dirty drivers at the top. One gets send to the bottom. Another one I gambled was clean rammed me off on the downhill part for 3rd place giving me a shortcut penalty sending me to 5th place. Got to keep looking at the bright side. First lap I had an awesome race with Aunt Myrna, perfectly in sync until he went a bit wide at the sand trap and I managed to squeeze through contact free. The Lexus is OP in the final sector so I easily put over a second distance on the Corvette, entering the straight out of reach.

The evening ended great. (after a certain someone disappeared) The 11 PM race was very clean. 11:30 slot started a bit ehh

A good example of why leaving room and not pushing cars on the grass is always a good idea, as well as not following too closely, especially when there is lag involved. Seeing that in the rear view mirror did look very funny.

I finished that race in 2nd. I had a small chance for first as I was gaining on the two. With the right spacing and timing, jumping by both on the straight could have been possible. However 2nd lost control at the sand pit, swerved back and forth, regained control and then we misread intentions. He swerved one way to make room, while I swerved in the same direction to avoid him. We both kept on, but I guess he felt embarressed or annoyed and quit. I had lost a lot of momentum so first stayed well out of reach. Fun race nonetheless.

@Sven Jurgens, you qualified! Good for you! You deserve some race with similar paced people.

Watching from 3rd was really nice, the gap was never more than 0.3 between you both in front. Well done!

Did you go all out on your QT or do you still have some under the pedal?

I'm afraid it's gonna be a lot more about dodging dirty A-holes than racing. Unfortunately. I don't understand what's satisfying about winning by punting or ramming your competition off? It's way more fun to be on their bumper and force them into making a mistake without ever touching them. You know, racing. And the dirtiest ones are ALWAYS the ones calling everybody dirty pig if they don't win. Yeah, I've been called Cerdo HDP several times myself. I had no idea what that meant. Now I know. LOL. Always the same guy. What a pathetic human being. There is a lot of these "A+" players out there now (on all servers I bet). Players that are only A+ because the player base has reduced drastically and (I guess) they are so proud of finally making it to A+ that they will not let anyone past them. What a toxic attitude. You're on them for half a lap (being respectful and never even touching them) and when they finally make a mistake and you squeeze through, it's like you have just raped their daughter in front of them or something. You immediately become a target that needs to be eliminated asap. How can you be proud of yourself by winning like that? That's just pathetic. Luckily there are still players that have no problem with you being faster as long as you are clean and respectful. Not at the front of the grid though.

I did 2 qualifying laps, 8:10 first one, 8:09 second. I likely have more under the pedal, but don't really like how the car feels during qualifying. The loss of weight affects the handling and I don't want to get used to that. I also hit the limiter in a couple places during qualifying where I don't bother to upshift during race conditions as there you stay under the limiter. Even the top speed on the straight is higher during qualifying.

The first race after qualifying I flew right in the sand trap in T1 as I had no idea when to brake starting from pole . I had L behind me (his 3rd account now) so didn't want to brake too early, instead drove off, ended up second to last and had my usual last to front race haha. Luckily in further races I managed to stay ahead of L, then he requalified to start in front of me but got into it with someone else and sent to the back.

Yes the front has the most trouble makers. Lucky for me there was a squeeky clean equally paced Brazilian on pole for me to race. We've swapped positions contact free a plenty during our races. I beat him a couple times, he then figured out that letting me ahead for lap 2 was the way to win. The Lexus can pass a Supra on the straight if timed right, yet if the Supra comes from behind, little chance for me. So 'all' they need to do is hang on to my bumper for lap 2 lol.

He had the sportmanship to not intentionally slow down at the start of the straight to take the slipstream in our prior races. Thus last race when he came from behind I didn't push too hard for a side by side downhill run and conceded the final turn. I wasn't fully alongside so didn't want to risk ending an incredible race with contact. A double undercut through T1 to then go through T2 side by without a problem, that's good driving.

I won that race by 0.043 sec. In a later race I lost him early because L and M were fighting. But pushing to catch up to him delivered me my fastest lap 2 yet, 8:14.34.

It's 'funny' I had trouble with that driver before while racing from the back. It's not that A+ or the front is dirty in general, most seem to treat the back field as beneath them. Or maybe it's a case of red mist when they fall back, got to protect that DR at all cost thus run people off to get back. The other difference is that when they fall to the back, I'm still behind other cars and taking the utmost care not to touch the slower drivers. They don't have that patience nor awareness and keep bumping into me, bumping me or the car I'm following off. Yet while I was right in front of L with clean air in front of me, he never started anything. (I already got 2 of his accounts temp banned so that might also be a factor lol)

Anyway my goal was to start in front of 'no one shall pass' blocker M. Goal achieved, great racing from the front last night!

This is matchmaking now during prime time: (8:30 PM EST, 5:30 PM PST)

I hope there will be anyone left to race by the end of the month!

Awesome race with @Mc_Yavel this morning. I had just put my kids on the bus, not fully awake yet, only 6 players entered and I though I would be a snooze fest pole to flag. Then I saw who was sarting behind me

Not a flawless race, but close start to finish. The F-Type needs to be either 0.8 sec ahead onto the final straight or coming from behind to beat the Lexus. Since I couldn't make the pass on the middle straight, I squeezed out the victory. Great race!

The race after a Corvette started in between us, a slower player so it could have turned into a repeat of the first one, however @Mc_Yavel got punted in T1 :banghead:. I simply ran away from 2nd to win the race.

3rd race was against the same Corvette player starting in 2nd again. This time he took the inside in T1 and managaed to beat me to the apex. I followed him, tried to pass after Flugplatz but the Lexus couldn't quite get ahead of the Vette. Then as my wife was leaving our awkward goodbye (damn husband addicted to racing) cost me 2 seconds so no action on the middle straight. I caught back up in the second half, passed him on the straight, he hung on and passed me again after Flugplatz. I had a run on him on the middle straight but he stayed in the middle. The Lexus can barely get fully alongside on the road, with a wheel in the grass only halfway alongside. So I draft bumped him instead of taking unnecessary risks and planned to pass him on the final straight. He buggered up the mini karoussel, I passed and entered the straight 1.2 sec ahead, done deal.

4th and last race I defended the inside in T1, he didn't try anything in the GP part and fell back a bit before Flugplatz. I thought about slowing down a bit to have a race instead of a time trial but M in his Ford started 3rd. Do no want any more interaction with him, so I just ended up doing a time trial. M got to 2nd and finished 8 seconds behind me.

Great morning for me, 4 for 4 wins.

@Sven Jurgens Good fun with you this morning. Since we were flying from the field I felt a bit more willing to attack if there was an opening. When you put a wheel on the grass I went for it, a thing I would never dare at this place, against an unknown driver and on the outside! Once in front I tried to relax and not look to much in the mirror, I know you have genuinely more pace than me so it kinda get into me. It was not my best driving put I kept it on the track.

Cool to watch the race from your POV. I didn't know you have to shortshift and save fuel with the Lexus.

Next race I got punted in T1 and half the field got in front of me. Immediately realized I was in for a wild ride seeing how people race in front of me but then the skies cleared up.

At the end of second lap I was drafting the Corvette in 2nd and I put my balls of steel and went for it in the downhill section before the big braking zone.

Let's say I need to work on that a little more.

Then as my wife was leaving our awkward goodbye (damn husband addicted to racing)
Same, wife leaves around :45, last two months fitted perfectly with the pit stop.

Good racing this morning @Mc_Yavel!

You just need to sort out the first sector of the Nordschleife and you'll be able to hang on to my bumper until a straight to draft pass. Looking at the split times during the race we're prettty evenly paced throughout apart from that first bit of the Nordschleife where I break the slipstream each time.

I was going full out to stay ahead of Mr Fox, his 8:14 laps are a bit fast for me. I'm getting a bit too careful I think since I rarely hit 8:15 anymore. I did an 8:14.8 with clear track on Saturday, had a 8:14.3 earlier but now seem to not be able to reach that anymore. Probably because I'm trying to keep my clean streak going :)

It was reset on Sunday again from this fellow

Every race he started in front of me driving slow. One race he had us down to 8:27 first lap, going slow to make sure he could keep his car in front of me. Once I find an opening to pass him that up there happened, every time. Always a punt attempt after an overtake with lots of side pushing.

I'm glad I crashed at Flugplatz after you showed up. That 3 or 4 way race was amazing. I didn't want to catch up with CL so it all worked out perfectly. CL got his victory and finally left :)

I have been toying with the idea to drop back at the start yet every race I recognize names of drivers I've had trouble with, and every race ends with red Bs etc in the room :/ I guess I'll stay up front. Some of the ones starting in the back always target me ugh.

@Sven Jurgens , I tried my best to keep up with you but I always mess up somewhere. At least you had Mr Fox to keep you entertained. After Karoussel, the twisty bit in the forest I took a look at the gap between us every time I could and you gain 0.2 every two or three turn. You don't make many mistake either but this is no surprise.

Still, I'm getting more confident in the scary places and if everything goes well I can lap under 8.20. My best lap is 8.15.9. My top 3 time are in 16-17 no draft.

That's plenty to challenge me, I normally do 8:16 to 8:18 laps, 16:36 race time. As long as you stay in slipstream I won't be able to increase the gap in the twisty section and it will come to the straights (or who ever makes a mistake)

I do make mistakes, but I usually catch them before they can get out of hand. Otherwise I would be doing 8:14 and 8:15 laps :) Stringing an 8:14 lap together again has proven very difficult. I did that without help of slipstream but with the focus of chasing a much faster player trying to catch up.

@Mc_Yavel No idea what's going on this evening, full moon? I've never seen it this dirty in the top split. I already dropped to the lower SR S bracket twice this evening from brake checks, and racing is much cleaner there... The 99 SR split is mental this evening at the back. Pinball until the middle straight.

If I don't show up for a race, I'm either in the lower split or setting a qualifying time. Last race I got nailed so hard I was trailing in last end of lap 1 still. Reset 3 times, intentionally spun out. That Brazillian acting like he did nothing wrong was a big part of starting the pinball mess. Pushing and bumping cars into each other. Avoid.
Yeah that full moon energy can be brutal at times, everyone has fierce energy battling with each other. It reminds me of a world war back in the old days.

@Sven Jurgens ,yeah, you do make mistake! I was on it yesterday evening. Really happy to have a win from 3th and beating you in the process was a little bonus  with a best lap of 8.16.

Next race I was ready for the overtake on the last straight but I put one wheel on the grass under braking. I should have kept a little more space between our cars.

Yeah I was struggling a bit last night. That second race I kept getting a wheel too far on the side hence I was kinda slow in that last section while you came flying in hot! A bit more distance and you would have easily passed me.

I got my confidence back in further races. A faster driver showed up in pole, but kept falling back at the start to race from the back. He couldn't catch me and thanks to him falling back I had a couple nice 4th to 1st runs. Last one I got dive bombed twice though, only 12 players in the room (half D/S) so the fast driver on pole caught up with me that race. We had a good battle lap 1 but then I lost his slipstream lap 2. I got a .5 sec penalty going bit too wide after Flugplatz (I protest, still had 2 wheels on the road but oh well) which he saw so he slowed down on the middle straight to let me pass for a fun race to the final straight :)

@Mc_Yavel You were on fire last night, great racing!

Bah, disconnected during match making. One of these decades PD might sort out their net code.

It's been a long time since I watch replay or take photos. Forgot to save the replay of my win but saved the next one. I purposely forget to take the picture of my off track run.

@Mc_Yavel Good to see you on the track, good race! More fun, the previous 2 races I just watched Johny increase the gap on me. I can't even hang on to his slipstream by the time we get to the Nordschleife. He does 8:16 for the first lap

That F-Type catches up a lot on the straights, luckily I still have some cornering power left in the RC F :)

Next month's races are up
A. Tokyo Central Outer, 5 laps, N300, SH. Maybe something for @sturk0167 :)
B. Monza no Chicane, 4 laps, GR.3, RM. In case you're looking for a DR reset
C. Suzuka, 10 laps, GR.1, RS+RM. Faaaast

I might go for Suzuka unless GT7 serves up something better (unlikely)

@Sven Jurgens, I'm just missing a bit of speed to catch up and overtake you. But I'm definitely faster than last week.

New daily races will be welcome. Gr. 1 will be a mess in the first few days though.
Suzuka, @Sven Jurgens are going for Group C car. I don't think they will be competitive.

Toyota will be Meta and will be my car of choice.

Yeah, GR.C is of little use at Suzuka. I don't know how much I'll race, it's probably gonna be a hybrid fest. But I guess I'll dip my toes in from the back. Got to lose that DR again somehow :)

Speaking of DR, I just took a look again. I gained 10 DR from the last race I won today lol. It doesn't look like I can get back to where I was when I got disconnected during a race. Most of the competition now comes from DR resets.

I started N24 at 33.2K DR, a little more than doubled it in the Lexus lol. Lots to give away next month

Since we have new races coming Monday, today is my last Daily races on The Nord. I'll be out of town for the weekend starting tomorow.

Started the Nurburgring stint on Sept 1 and DR went steadily up from the moment I qualified. Total DR gain of 8 700. From DR.A to A+ sitting at 57 200, an all time high.

My couple of very good laps are around 8.16-17 and my confortables one are 8.20-22. Had many wins (did not track them :banghead:) and not all from pole with slower people. My general pace has improved and the racing standard were high at the front.

Being 3rd in a group of four five fast racers is hard on the nerve, no place for error. My girlfriend had to tell me to breath sometimes!

Now I just hope to have similar good racing in Japan next week. I'm already minded to a difficult start of stint. Gr. 1,you need to be sharp and Suzuka has no mercy. I don't think I'm gonna race from the back long but I'm willing to try.

I'm getting fed up with the dirty drivers at the front, it's getting worse and worse. All the clean drivers left I guess since I keep getting matched with B/S on pole, fast like A+ but dirty as SR E. Swerving on the straight, not leaving room, pushing you off on the grass. Maybe it's time to start pushing back, get a DR reset myself. This driving at the front at A+/S is cleaner is total BS. It's 50/50 at best.

It just seems cleaner since there are less people in front of you, if that makes sense. And the ones that are actually faster, you only encounter after they crash.

I'm having big reservations whether I'll continue with GT Sport or not. GT7 was worse, likely still is. Maybe I'll just go awol again until N24 is back. If my best and most favorite combo is already making me dread racing at times...

Thanks @Mc_Yavel, I needed that race to wipe away the race before that one :) And I've been rooting for simplemind to win for weeks. I'm glad he kept it together. Not sure what happened where I shot by you, luckily managed to miss you and no wall penalty either. (Which I did get from the one I mentioned before the race started after he knocked me into the grass)

@Sven Jurgens did you play GT7 since they increase the car damage?
Not yet. Not looking forward to getting damage from people hitting me, nor inadvertently give other people damage when I miss a braking point. The couple FIA races I did in GT Sport with heavy damage on were awful. (it was on Fuji so double awful!)

Mixed bag for me at the Ring this month. Lots of filthy driving out there, and lots of mistakes by me as well. Couple podiums, couple top 5s, couple DFL's lol

It's crazy how different GTS feels on my gear to GT7 though. Almost like I have to relearn things when I boot up GTS.

TL;DR - Me + Gr.3 + N24 = FAIL. Sorry if I screwed up your race, not intended.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 'Ring taught me a lot this month...most important one being personal limits...:D

Was doin' alright out there, scored A win and a handful of podiums in the early morning hours. Then evening came, and when darkness encroaches, the talent arrives. I ended-up taking out a whole bunch of people (@Sven Jurgens I know you were in the mix, still feel bad about that) in T1, of course, and it made me realize I'm not Gr.3 ready at the 'Ring yet. At least, not when I'm put in top A/S splits. The little things become very, very big things out there because nothing will expose your weaknesses quite the way that course does...

Kinda glad I jumped ship because Maggi' and I get along just fine, and the WRX likes her, too. Been putting down some strong laps and sullying Scirocco podium sweeps for a couple weeks now. Racing is tight, clean and the rooms are running 10 - 16 strong. Met some great people in there, too.

So, my big take-away was a good one...know your limits and stop messin' w/other peoples races. Just because I like the track doesn't mean I can play well with others on it. Sorry if I ruined anyone's race(s) but please know it was 💩 driving, not 💩 attitude, marginally better as that may be.

Thanks for the racing, everyone!

Are KudosPrime or GTBlade working for anyone else for GTS? It looks like they lost connection to the data...🤔
Kudos is working for me.

Snooze fest at Suzuka. Grid is no more than 13 at best even in peak hour. Yesterday, 4 DR. A with no QT and the front of the grid is 5 DR. B, so kinda reverse grid.

Today I jumped in Monza and it's full grid. I have a dummy QT (cross the line in practice) so I start just before the other no qualifier.

@Chris30 just got a nice podium in 3rd and I came 4th. Well done and nice to see you on track.
