Done a few practice laps at Bathurst and I’m liking the Veyron. Tyre wear might be an issue for it, but pace and stability is good. Cannot stand the Scirocco around here. The understeer is irritating and the gearing feels wrong. I’m looking forward to running in all the FR cars across the week.

Edit: If it starts with a V it will be super competitive on the mountain this week.

Did 2 Race As today. Started near the back in both. Moved up 2 spots. Clean races. Zero incidents around me.

2nd race was quite close. But connection was jumpy. Really good driving all around to compensate. About 3 seconds apart front to back almost the whole way. Many sliding to the back, knowing they could move back up. Good fun race.

Again, I really loved the Viper at Suzuka. Totally surprised by its pace. Should be sharp around the mountain.
Wonder about other alternates: Supra, 86, Atenza. I think the Huracan has been out of the loop for a long while. Will find out soon.

Edit: It's night time conditions at Bathurst. I smell death.

edit: that was wack. Need to qualify. i messed up early. Car just wouldn’t turn left Full lock. Anyway, dude I’m the Lamborghini was wack. I let him recover after he was going crazy. Last lap, he’s slamming the walls. I catch up down Conroe and he’s blocking and weaving. Asked why block? I left as he was typing. Don’t want to read that crap.

unexpected pole position in the next race. TT got me a 13 flat. Again, different car and it wouldn’t turn left. Checked my controller again ater the race and no problems during free practice. Anyway, tried the Megane F and dropped to a 12.9. Entered P4 and got disco’d.

Good stuff by Dragline, to get the win, when I was in the TT.

3 race C this morning on my NA account.
Good seeing friends in all of them.
I ran Mustang, Mustang, Jag. Prefer the Mustang.
Podium in first race but in second race a guy in a Veyron ran me clear off twice, both times dive on inside and he would never make it without my car as a barrier.
Third time he wanted to run double wide I lifted to avoid a third run-off. Then a Slophy punts him off at Forrest Elbow and I get past him.
And that means what? Yep, run off at Murray's Corner, so hard he too went off.
After the race I type "I owe you".
And he calls me idiot??

I have yet to see a well controlled Veyron in race.
The FF's drop back by lap 4-5.
M4 seems.strong.

I’m in the Veyron on P3 this next race. 458 P1 and Huracan P2. Scirocco P4.

edit: rage quit. Time for the alt.

gave this scirocco room down Conrod. Dude still bumps me off. Two cars pass. I flash the lights because I’m going to unload him. He’s blocking another sciro up mountain straight. Still another scirocco in the queue on my right drops back slightly. The car ahead unloads the Scirocco into T2. I follow to finish it off.
Make my way with some clean racing. A known player that’s okay goes off, I pass it as he’s recovering. Follows me for a lap. Up mountain straight, hits me in the braking area. Even if it was unintentional. I quit. Now I remember why I don’t qualify.

That whole race was disgusting. I got punted through the chase. I think a ballistic driver punted the driver behind me into my bumper. I recovered and made my way back to p3 before the ballistic driver pushed me off at consecutive turns . I caught him into the cutting, he ran wide and I threw it up the inside. He tried to wedge me against the wall, but the Veyron simply does not yield. I managed to stay in front of him until lap 7 when he punted me into the sand at Murray’s. After the race another driver called him out as well.

Overall, the Veyron is a beast here. BB+5 and it’s a dream to drive. I haven’t come across another car that seems quicker in the race.

Yeah, I wanted to try the Megan’s as it has a nice 3rd gear exit with tight mid-corner speed. I got the Veyron to a 13.2. .3 slower than the Megane. Was counting on the 4WD towards the end of the race, but nope.

Tried Race A. One and done. 10th to 4th, with one of the fastest Austrailian players P1. He finished P3 with a penalty. No more of that race for me.

In the Alt Race B. Turnip in a Vantage proceeds to divebomb the RSR ahead of it, into T1 at the start. I give the RSR a bump draft to get ahead. He does, but outbrakes himself. Spins out and renters hitting me. Sending both of us last. Nice.
Recovery drive as it looks like the Vantage is taking others out to move up.
Last two laps, an F-Tyep recovers. I pass it and have a little battle. A Supranational is recovering and as we’re coming to the PZ, he moves right into my path and I hit him. We both sail left, over the curbs and again at the final corner, giving us both penalties. He quits.
then, I get bumped left on the final two corners by that F-type, but he backs off to let me keep my placing.

Ran just the one race tonight. Q2 with the M4, a Megane on pole. I follow him around for the opening lap knowing he'll have tyre issues later. He runs off at The Chase, I follow him. He overshoots the rejoin and drops to 3rd behind me and a Ferrari.

Ferrari gets a run on me up the start straight and passing at T1, only to get a poor exit. I draw alongside up the hill and retake the position at T2, he doesn't like that.

He divebombs me on the right hander just before The Dipper, had the rear of the M4 not stepped out on me, I would have been in the wall. Instead he sideswipes me. I follow him back down the hill onto lap 3.

He gets a poor run out of T2 and leaves enough gap for me to put the M4 between him and the wall, I'm once more alongside to his left so have the inside line, he tries to turn in on me. Not happening, a Ferrari isn't going to push a BMW off line. He tries his divebomb trick through The Esses again only to miss me and pick up a penalty.

I think he ended up punting another driver off at the start of lap 4 as I saw a flash of headlights in the mirror as I was going up the hill and he got called out post race.

He did finish 2nd although a distance 10 seconds back as he spent most of the race trying to get back to me, but kept hitting walls (and probably other cars as well).

Another win for the tally and a great start to the week.

Had 2 races in the Americas to test the waters at Bathurst first race I just had trouble getting past a slow Scirocco, but just had to be patient to find my gap, perils of non qualifying. Second race was just nasty. No room given by lots of players, even if it means they turn in and push me off wide on the straight. Polesitter in a Veyron was walled on the way to the cutting at EXACTLY the right spot to spin the car around. He ran down to finish p3 but it was messy.

@05XR8 I'm having the same turn left issue. Ran the Mustang both races and it handled lovely. Except for 1 lap each race where it flat out refused to turn in at Forrest Elbow. I was slow enough in second I was coasting and it went directly into the outside wall at something stupid like 40mph. Did it in the second race as well. Both times braking way early and coasting for the early turn in but getting no turn at all.

Not sure how many dailies I'll do this week, but Bathurst at night looks very nice.

The problem with the handling cars is that they make up all their time across the mountain. In race that’s pointless because you can only go as fast as the car in front. The power cars are generally going to be a better choice because their advantage is where the overtaking zones are. I have repeatedly overtaken Meganes up mountain straight from over half a second back. I will be trying the Viper and Vantage next.

@05XR8 @Redneckchef Forest Elbow is weird. About once or twice a race I have to virtually stop to get around. Almost like there’s marbles there.

Two Bathurst, no qualy, in the SLS. 16/18 to 17/17 and finished 9/17.
Next race. Moved up 12 places for the win. So many offs. So much dust and lag. The FFs were sitting ducks half distance.

The M4 is weird. It always feels so, so good to drive except for the brutal reaction if you hit a kerb the wrong way. Despite feeling great, and fast and really on it, the stop watch inevitably says it is slow.

I suspect the Megane or VW for qualifying and maybe the Jag or Hyundai for the race.

I see comments on Forrest's elbow again. I SWEAR last time we were at Bathurst there was a bug there and I am seeing comments again about the same thing. Some laps the car JUST WILL NOT TURN IN.

I don't get it.

Wait that’s a bug? In my last race, I was mess up there like crazy. No wonder. I thought I needed a break or something.

I decided to take the challenge of winning this week's Daily Race C with a Dodge Viper Gr.4 where I'm not familiar with the car that much until now.

Only managed to do one race today because I spent the whole day trying to get my qualifying time down to a 2:12 and I managed to do so by getting a 2:12.6 which is enough to get a pole position in this race I did.

Started in pole position and in the first three laps I had to deal with a Megane Gr.4 which was keeping me in check for those three laps until something happened where it was a Genesis Gr.4 now that kept me in check but as I expected the Viper is better than the Genesis so I just had to keep my composure for the remaining laps and from there I managed to land a win with the Viper.

Didn't try Race A today due to a Disco. But the races seem good.

Race B.
Set a good time in the Vantage. Started P9. There were 3 A's in the room and 2 D's along with an E! :scared:
Got past the A in front at Remus. All was looking good until lap 2. The A got a run on my along the pit straight. I expected a move but he backed out. I brake and they punt me. I loose 4 places. I make up a few due to spins and another move into Remus. Cross the line in 10th. I do beat another A driver though. First one in Sport mode. The A who punted me finished 3rd and with minus SR so I think they didn't want to finish behind B's so barged their way through. They don't deserve the A.

Edit: If it starts with a V it will be super competitive on the mountain this week.
That's why I went Viper. Just had a good feeling about it. 😎

Then onto Race C.
I set a lap time, but I know there is more. I cannot get the Esses right currently. I either am too slow or holding a slide. I am 1.2 seconds up on one lap as I do get a good run through the Esses only to muck up Forest Elbow. I am 5th on the Grid only to get Disco'd.
Ah well. Turned in a few laps for practice for Weds FIA whilst waiting for the next slot. Able to improve around a second during qualy for the next slot. Starting P4 this time and a couple of places ahead of who was P4 in the Disco'd slot.
I'm holding station for most of the race. The Czech ahead and another Brit seem to be at loggerheads. The Czech falls back a little so I bump draft them along the Conrod in the hopes they act as the grenade in their battle and I get 2 places for free. 😏
I unfortunately slid down the Esses. I hold it but somehow pick up a BS penalty for track limits. I hit the wall but that's it. A little annoyed. I just hold on after the penalty down the Conrod. I am now 4 seconds behind the battling duo ahead. I close a little, but more importantly gap those behind again. Perfect timing on lap 5. I catch up massively onto those ahead. They seem to be knocking 7 bells out of each other through The Chase. The Brit goes spinning on the exit and I am onto the tail of the Czech. I am faster along the straight but they hold the inside so nothing doing. They seem quicker up the mountain but I am quicker over it and down it so catch them along the Conrod. I can't get them Lap 7. But lap 8 they glance the wall at Forest Elbow so I overlap. They pick the inside for the Chase but the outside for the kink. I give them space and I am hoping for a cut back through the Chase. It doesn't happen because they outbrake themselves and I pick up P2. Happy with that.

Would have done Race A after my first attempt at Race C, but I wouldn't have made the next Race C so I'll have to try it later in the week.

Four more cars, now up to 11 of the Gr.4 cars tested. Top five are:

1. Hyundai Genesis
2. Dodge Viper
3. Ferrari 458
4. Audi TT
5. Ford Mustang

It might just be me getting better with practice, but that Hyundai felt absolutely rapid! Although struggled a little at the start of the descent and at Forest Elbow. There's a full 1s between the Genesis and the Mustang for me, with the Hyundai clocking a 2:13 flat!
