Daily races are now WEEKLY races (POLL)

Do you want DAILY races or WEEKLY races?

Yeah, so actually what happens is that people spend alot more time on qualifying and less on racing. What were they thinking.. I hate qualifying. I run a few laps at most and then start racing. Which was fine for dailies, but now I start further backwards every day.

Oh well I just spend in qualify total 1 hours from Monday, I still racing in game around 3 hours per day.

Why are there only 2 1/2 "daily" races anyway? (The NXXX races I count as a 1/2 because it seems very half assed - why have dozens of N-class cars that you never get to use in the "Sport" part of GT Sport?) - If there is a week turn-around, at least a few more races would liven things up a little.

Before change the general time investment into qualyfiying was more or less the through the players the same, lets say 15 - 30 min in average, 60 min as very maximum because we simply had not the time. With Kudos or the companion app you could check where your position is in the rank in order to predict if it is fast enough or not.

Now all the times are much more faster, because there is so much more time for qualy. People push each other further. That leads to the fact that after few days the times are so pushed up that you can't jump into the race after 15 - 30 min qualy anymore, you are forced to do your very best lap to be competitive.

And I don't think hours of hotlapping is in the majoritys interest.

I'm already down to 5 races last night from my usual of 10 during the week. It would have been 4 yet I did one extra since my SR dropped to 97 from getting punted and bumped. I'm bored of St Croix now and next week looks dire to me. GR.4 on NGP awful. GR.3 Interlagos sprint race, no thanks. One-make on Big Willow, I like the track yet N400 is slow, plus a one-make for an entire week :(

What a terrible change! When is red dead redemption 2 coming out.

The obvious solution is to put both weekly and daily races. But won't this damage the quality of the matching? As it would be harder to get matching DR/SR as the player base will be divided among more races.

As for me, I love weekly races. I don't like the tracks of this week, but it's a perfect excuse to finally learn Suzuka. I usually didn't bother with tracks like these, because they would change the next day. And a day is not enough to really learn a circuit. But I can totally do it in a week.

1. We are all complaining about both sides of the story. But we should at first complain to PD for changing it without explanation. Maybe there is a simple reason and in 1 month its back to dailys. We really really need to get a number of that communication manager that has been hired and fired.

2. A lot of talking about dailys and weeklys but there is also a middle way: 2-daily or 3-daily races. That way you get the positive things from both. Without the main negative parts.

3. Some people cannot read statistics, or at least interpretate them. Chosing both does clearly not mean you are oke with weekly races. You are oke with them along with daily races. So its clear the vast majority is against this. Although I would rather see a bit more clear poll question like “no weekly races, unless they are combined with daily races”. This should shut the discussion down about the outcome of the poll.

4. For people that miss the dailys because of the groups, meaning who dont think gaining DR is the main reason for sportmode, we have this subforum around which can be used to create our own dailys with 16 max. I suggest people start using these possibilities more. You can never compare it with sportmode, but there are more ways to enjoy racing. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/board/gts-online-racing-leagues.427/

5. Wenn PD is sticking to the dailys, please let them make the A races possible with your own livery !!!

Last time I checked I was fastest among my friends at the St. Croix event. But that's still a whopping 15 seconds behind the top times. Since it seems I'm routinely paired with the fast guys, I just don't even feel like giving it a go.

GR.3 Interlagos sprint race

I actually quite like Gr.3 at Interlagos (sprint or enduro). It affords me the opportunity to avoid the meta and get the WRX out, which very few others
use, and surprise people!

Then again, I have done circa 19,000 miles in the Gr.3 WRX around the Nordschliefe, if I can't drive it fast by now its probably time to hang my racing boots up!

However, having said that, I know for a fact that, despite my love of the Gr.3 WRX and Interlagos, I'm going to be bored of doing just that after one, or maybe two, day(s).

If it was GR.3 Nordschleife or N24 I would be on it all week, 5 hours a day or more. Yet Interlagos is one of those tracks I get bored of easily and thus start driving too casually ie slow. Plus even if I qualify I already start in the back field on that track and the back field there is usually awful to drive in, especially in a sprint race.

Despite Nord and N24 not having been featured often I have done 92 and 184 sport races there. I've done a 133 races on Interlagos and really only want to do GR.1 C races there.

Why not learn it?

If they wanted to try something different they should have made them change every 3 and 4 days (making 7 days total for a full week rotation.) Maybe 2, 2 and 3. But this change is drastic and will make some weeks boring.

I'm having a great time with the weekly races. I'm a D level, now I have the reassurance of 5 (or 7, not sure) days to work a good qualy trial. Yesterday, after 1 hour of testing I got a good lap in Suzuka with the Ferrari and went for a race, started 4 finished 2nd

I know that today I can sit and improve my time to perhaps get pole, test other cars etc etc. I love this change

My feelings are that this is the worst change ever in Gran Turismo. Are the lobbies full? I dont know because I only ran 2 laps at Suzuka to see what the new tire model felt like. If the lobbies remain full the week long "dailys" will last, if most like me are avoiding the "dailys" they will need to make some changes. When I like the "C" race I will be back to GT but not until that point. Time will tell
Why not leave it like it was and add 2?? more races to the 3 dailys that each last a week.

I have only done Race A and B so far this week when I've had time to play but all the places in the lobby were full and all drivers have stayed
till the end of the race regardless of position and I have played every night bar Tuesday when GTA Online new event week started.

Don't think we are going to see any sudden change back, I will get a better idea on the lobbies over tonight and the weekend as have time to play.

Lack of response from PD so far despite the comments suggest we shoudn't expect a quick change back, these are the only two things I have grudges over, the sudden change to the penalty system last month that made things worse for me and this being announced the day of the DLC. :banghead:

This big change deserves its own thread. Are people happy with this? This has ruined my day! We had this set up at the start of the game and people didn't enjoy it. Isn't that why they changed it daily races? Think about it. Lets say the weekly race list is a set of three tracks you typically despise. You might not pick up the game for an entire week now instead of a day? Doesn't that push players away? Doesn't that hurt the player count? This is a horrible, not asked for, unnecessary change. We needed an EXTENSION of the daily race slots. Not a continuance of crap tracks for a week. I am furious. How do you feel? Discuss.
I Agree, This is a major step backward.
The daily race should be set daily.
I for one am bored with Suzuka already.
Please revert back to different circuits each day.

how can we release a self-called online game, when only 3 races for an entire week ? As if in an online FPS, you could do ranked matches only on 3 maps, for a week. I waited this update so much ; now it's here, i've just stop racing because of this DUMB decision. Please let's all tweet to kaz!

With daily races, people were earning too much money.

No they were most certainly not. Sport mode has the lowest payouts of anyway to make money in this game. People have regularly suggested they be increased to attract more players online.

I almost exclusively play Sport Mode.

See that major drop in Cr around the 150 day mark? That's from the Super GT update. It took me ~100 days to recoup the ~6 million I lost. I've done over 600 sport mode races. I've never racked up enough money or anything close to afford the most expensive cars in the game.

I can make that Cr much quicker in gt league or by grinding at BMB. But I'd rather race against real people, so I don't do that.

yall forgot to add on the poll ,who cares cause I don't sorry my opinion:D

Then why even comment? I hate comments like this. Wanna know what happens when I open a thread and realize I don't care? I close it. I don't go around being rude to those who care about something I don't...

With daily races, people were earning too much money. To keep it the same would've eaten too much into their microtransaction revenues

Making too much money in sport mode??? A person would need to grind for a couple of years to make enough money in sport mode to buy a $20 million car. Im making money and credits staying away from sport mode right now. Sport mode races run since the change to a weekly "daily" for me=0
Races I will be competing in in sport mode with the current week long "dailys" = very few unless a race c combo appears in the near future that I like, I dont do the 4 lap crashfest races, I dont like going for the lead at T1L1. Since the only game I play is GTS I may drift away and not play anymore after I finish all of the campaign stuff and get bored.

They patched out/reduced higher paying events a while ago so yeah, you’re wrong.

Have you literally never played GT league before? You make way more money in sport mode.

I have played this game for well over 300 hours and my lifetime Cr (most of it from sport mode) is 38 million. We have 3 or 4 cars worth 20 million in this game and its taken me nearly a year to be able to afford two of them (and thats if I never spent any money)

But because theyve added cars I've wanted to this game, the 8 million Cr I had right before the July update is the most I've had at one single time.

The assumption that daily races were turned to weekly races based on sub 2 million cars being added to the PSN store is laughable. Most people don't even play sport mode anyway.
