Based on this - whilst it looks very exciting for future cars (potentially), I’ll once again be preparing to collect more pinches of salt in the meantime otherwise I’ll get carried away.

IF (and it’s a massive IF) these cars are indeed coming to the game in the future, how many updates do people reckon it would require - 2 years worth (24 months) perhaps based on the current trend of car updates so far?

Interesting to see the Impreza STi Version VI on this list as that car appears in the game already as a coupe. It was also produced as a sedan and wagon, but you'd think the filename would mention the difference.

Ya, we can all dare to dream, but as has been stated, they aren't necessarily going to be released.

Really, every high res car going back to Prologue COULD show up in the game.

I'm interested in the ones that were never high res, like the 190 EVO and the Chevelle.

There are around 80 cars on the list.

3 cars * 12 months = 36 cars
3 cars * 24 months = 72 cars

Really excited to see this. We have old classics returning such as Skyline Silhouette and Escudo Pikes Peak. But mostly I'm grateful for a bunch of Lotus cars coming up, considering the British sportscar maker was missing altogether.

Source, so that there's no clickbait attempt:sly:

Edit: corrected title
Too much old times cars from (GT4,5,6) (sweet memories) and some of the most precious wish list cars (new entries) !!!!!

They were actually programming the EB110 already. There was even a wireframe model of it, which you can see @04:22 mins:

Indeed, but I think the important take away is that it wasn't in the final game in any playable form, nor has it appeared in any GT game since which is a shame.

When we're looking for indications of specific cars coming to GT it's important to remember that even when we have evidence that they've scanned/started modelling or modelled entirely for that matter, is not a given that they will apear in the game. Such information makes it better than a simple wishlist of cars of course, but we still should'nt twist it into something it isn't, which is a guarentee of appearing.

The list is quite nice. Just add the new RS5 or/and RS6/RS7, the road version of the Sport quattro (not only the rally versions) and the facelifted 2020 R8 Performance (just different bumpers so not much work added and the car looks much better) and I'm super OK :)

One of the 2.5 turbo 5 cylinder cars would also make sense, although PD don’t seem to give much attention to things like the RS3 or TTRS. That engine has become a bit of a game changer in the drag/tuning scene. Not just in Europe either - Iroz have built some absolute rocket ships.

Worth mentioning that the "RGT_16" is a Ruf which has never been in the franchise. If Ruf is allowed to coexist with Porsche, there's some fun stuff.
Ruf is already in the game. The list not only comprises of the RGT 4.2 you mentioned, but also the CTR '87, which would pair with the Ruf CTR3 already in the game.

Suzuki is strange when it comes to stuff like this. For instance after the flop of the SX4 WRC program, they ordered for every single one of the WRC cars to be destroyed. At the time iirc Tajima was still working with Suzuki and not his own Monster Sport company. Maybe since the 98 and 99 Escudo didn’t win the event it suffered the same fate, unlike the 95 car which did win.

EDIT:
Never mind, one of the cars is at least apparently at Suzuki Plaza, the company’s own museum. Good to know it’s not in a junkyard crushed into millions of pieces.

That photo was taken at Tokyo Motor Show '99.

There are no other photos of the car in the last 20+ years so it's either sat hidden away somewhere or doesn't exist any more.

Most of the cars in the leaked FH4 code made it to FH4 itself and FH5, and some will make it to next FM. Why can't GT be the same? PD is slow but, aside from Lotus, none of those brands have licensing issues.

I know, but the CTR3 is a unique car. I want to believe Ruf is no longer in the games (or only with unique cars) due to lack of interest on the developer's part, not because of a Porsche veto (Rufs are always faster than Porsches).

They could always add Ruf under "Professionally Tuned".

Looking closer at the list, I can definitely say it looks realistic, as in a lot of those cars are something PD would add, judging by GTS updates.
But Lotuses there are the clearest indication those are nothing more than strings in the files, which PD love to have in their games. I definitely wouldn't call it "leaked upcoming cars", more like "leaked possibly maybe probably one day coming to this game or maybe not cars".
To be honest, can kinda make up a similar list based on GTP's wishlist section (PD clearly used it for inspiration for some cars in the past), GT6's cars, both premium and standard, and just overall pattern of previous updates.
Was this one even confirmed by other dataminers?

It’s probably just a list of cars that exist somewhere in some registry and that were imported at some point during the development of the game. I mean, I find it highly unlikely that they would add the Renault Avantime to GT7. That car was perhaps kind of interesting when it was new, but that was two decades ago.

If the list is genuine, then I would say that the cars in that list that are most likely to appear in GT7 are the ones that have never appeared in a GT game previously. Most of the other ones are probably just there because someone at some point clicked on “import all”, because it was much faster than going through the list and selecting only those they actually wanted to bring back.

A Ruf isn't a Porsche. It's not tuned, it's its own manufacture.

"impreza_wrx_sti6_99" refers to Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STi Version VI '99, which is the sedan variant, at the time the primary variant of the Impreza.

I would be surprised if none of these cars made the cut but at the same time, I don't see the majority of them making it. Perhaps a few from GT6 like the 507, Audi RS6 Avant etc. I really hope the Maserati Merak is in 😃

Now I noticed there’s no C5 Corvette on the list. Odd.

Porsche and RUF (Yellowbird and Rt 12) are in the original Assetto Corsa. No reason why GT7 should be any different in that regard, and already having the CTR3 is probably a good start.

The man who would probably know best is Tajima himself. He still has his 1995 car & the cowl from the legend itself. It gets a quick little highlight in this article from 2014 touring Tajima's shop.
To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the "XL7" and "SX4" bodied cars he set records with in the 00's and early '10's weren't just an updated version of the 90's Escudo bodied car.

When I first got GT7 (didn't own GT sport) and noticed there was very few RUF cars, but we have porsche now, I thought to myself that maybe part of the agreement of having Porsche would be to exclude RUF cars that used the traditional Porsche shells, with the CTR3 being unique enough to pass. Not every game is held to the same contract terms.

Of course, I have zero evidence, and I didn't give it too much thought. But hey, nearly everything us average joes talk about is just if buts and maybes

Some really cool cars in this list, the Sierra R500 caught my eye, such an iconic vehicle! 😮

While I somehow doubt everything on this list will make it to the game, hopefully this list is not definitive.

I was personally hoping for more 80'/90's performance saloons, like E34/E39, Toyota Chaser, Nissan Cefiro etc.

You're telling me they've got standard cars from the PS3 era in the game code? Why on earth...

They'll probably be getting brand new premium models once they get into GT7. They'll get a full interior and full details. They'll no longer be standard cars, like with the Pennzoil Skyline which was a GT6 standard car. Once they gt that Castrol Mugen NSX in there, it will be getting a brand new model and full interior.

Probably, I still see some serious hexagons on a few cars in the game. :sly:
