DeadNutsEvenRacing - where the fun of racing is not about standing in the podium, but the adventures to get there.

Maybe we should have a side thread for all the great photos from our races. Some of these are really great, and certainly show, photographically, the philosophy of DeadNutsEven Racing.

I am going to be in the room soon, if anyone want to join in :D I am testing some new cars, Cizeta, VW, and some odd classic rally cars :D

I might be around later tonight, not totally sure though... I'd like to do a couple of practice races with my car before Monday to see how it's gonna behave in traffic.

I would like to practice races with my car before Monday as well, impossible tonight, but some time late afternoon tomorrow could work or Saturday in the afternoon.

I work tomorrow, so that's out for me... I am off Saturday and Sunday, so anytime would work for one or both of those days.

I'm thinking about joining the lounge to get some testing done with the YellowBird. Kind of cramped for time today, so I don't know when that will be.

Looks like Cape Ring is going to be a stellar track. I love the last corner and how sharply you have to brake into it. Its going to be a perfect spot for passing.

With Ferrari's help in the photo department I've been working on our banner photo. Any suggestions?:

possiblebanner2.png

Any suggestions other than "Where anyone can win"? That's 20 characters and appears about the right size but I suppose we could fit as much as 25 or maybe 30 characters in there and it would still look right, although I'm thinking 18-25 would be perfect. Any more and it would be a little too small I think. So something along the lines of "Come and Join us for the closest racing on GT5" might be a little lengthy:sly:.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I am thinking of entering Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI GSR T.M. SCP '99, premium, will it be considered stock or tuned, the only changes is BB and AYC value, which comes standard with the car. The car still has only 3 miles on the odo, 469 PP.

how about:

Where all racers are equal.

We brake for p**n...

We brake for p**n...

:ouch: ....although it would fit quite nicely wouldn't it?

I need feedback on the slogan for sure guys, but don't forget the rest of the layout. I'm open to suggestions on anything and everything. I have zero confidence in my artistic abilities...lol. The other day I was out looking at some bolts of imitation leather that had some padding on one side for my Dad and I asked the woman "what's the difference between these two". She looked at me funny and said, "one is black and one is brown".

Doh:scared:...so you see part of my limitation at least...lol.

When I get in from work later, I'll list all the feedback I've received through here or PM so you can all see what others might be thinking.

I think the graphic looks great, it gets the point across... And "where anyone can win" has kinda been the slogan since DeadNuts was started, so go with it. 👍

EDIT: Maybe add a couple of " !!! " just to make it more exciting? lol

How about:

Where being the fastest is not enough to win.

I am trying to find something that is true but also intriging.

I would suggest a different picture as it does not represent the typical variety in cars

I thought for sure someone had a signature that had a catchy little DNE phrase that I really liked. Can't seem to find it though. Did someone recently change their signature?

Summary of feedback so far:

Slogan

Keep it the same (where anyone can win)
Where all racers are equal
Where being the fastest is not enough to win (doesn't fit size criteria)
Side by side racing
Integrity before victory

Artistic Changes

Different picture/more variety of cars
Use the "Tuning Tips" font
Don't overlap "DeadNutsEven Racing" across the NSX
Smaller GTP logo
Rounded edges on the picture
Separate the slogan completely from the picture so that "Where Anyone Can Win" is completely in the white below

Take a look at Ferrari's pics and see if there are others you prefer. If you have photo's you want to submit feel free to do so, just be sure they are taken with magnification on 2x as this doubles the lines of resolution creating a sharper image.

I really like Orido's pictures, the 11th one would look awesome in the logo if we can get more cars in the shot with a smaller gap between, preferably from Monday's race.

Is that the one with Fireblade at the front and Z33 following closely ? I can take the picture again with 2x mag or when the 3 of us nose to the tail in similar style :D or the last one is also pretty good.

I still have a lot of the replay from previous events, is there is a way to transfer them, maybe Ferrari or Orido could extract interesting pictures. Let me know.

I would need it reshot with all the cars in focus and with space on the bottom right and top left to fit in the graphics.

Those are the WRS instructions for sending best lap replays. Not sure how big the file would be for a whole race or what to do with the file once you receive it...lol.

What's the Canadian GT5 region codes ? You can look at it on the game box spine, mine is BCUSxxxx, NTSC. We need to have the same region and video system replay files so we can share. All you need to do is simple, go to replay theater, choose the replay, export as save files. Go to XMB menu, under save game data files, there should be GT5 replay files, it usually starts with RPL00x, copy this to a USB flash drive. It will be copied to a folder like this : X:\PS3\Savedata\BCUS98114-RPL001 ( mine for an example )

Copy the folder to PC, compress it into zip or rar file, then you can attach on a post here in GTP, there's a limit size for zip files, I think it's 2 MB, so for bigger replay files, you will need filehosting service.

I have made some new 2x Mag shots, I will post the pic later on here, I can't find a good shot will all three of us very close to each other :(

I'm Canadian and I sent my replay to WRS using the method I quoted above without looking up any codes, so it must be compatible. Same method you summarized above, but they go into more step by step detail, which I need:sly:
