The race is the reward.

But maybe then people will feel like they're being cheated out of a reward.

New slogan:

where we rather have a good fight than an easy win.

where a good fight is better than winning

You missed the 18-25 character limit I suggested earlier...too long:crazy:

Big picture warning :D

Funny, the girls look great. I also liked the van with DNE lettering and the post with direction indication.
I was at the lounge today but not possible tonight. Will visit tomorrow.

After testing several cars for the past few days, I got a rough baseline for getting 1:29 avg, 1st sector times usually around 34 seconds, then 2nd sector should at least 54 seconds, then the car should at least hit 110mph at the long curve and the last esses.

Top speed at the main straight should at least 120mph before braking into 1st turn to be competitive both on cornering and straight line. The 1st esses should have the car hovering above 65mph, then reaching 100mph up hill before the 2nd esses ( at least 60mph here ) then 37 to 40mph on the 1st hairpin. The last hairpin also should be at least 30mph or above :D

5 of us in the Lounge right now...I suspect a race will break out at any moment...💡

Chuck Norris Edit: First race decided by .001!!!!

Got DC'd...sorry guys can't make it back in.

I sorted out my brake issues. It was one of the first cars I drove without ABS, so it had some crazy BB that was throwing me off.

I'm using 4/3. I always like to have some extra oomph in case I need to react to something on track. Case being running into Johnny tonight. :ouch:

Okay, guys, simple question, what do you wanted to see me racing with ? Cizeta V16T, Mustang Mach 1, Z33/Z34 Fairlady, Yellow Bird, Lancer Evo IV/V/VI, ? The best handling would be in order : Cizeta, then Evos, Z33, Z34, Mach 1, then Yellow Bird ... or maybe a Countach,

I am terribly sorry Ferrari, I kind of bump your rear end during the 1st casual race for fun, you could have won it :(

I got caught by surprise that you went sideways entering the hairpin losing speed rapidly, while I was planning to go inside, I was expecting a smooth sailing 512BB exiting the hairpin, while I am trailing closely behind .... things weren't as expected :(

Then I locked up the wheels trying to slow down in time in split seconds within very short distance ..

Once again, sorry, it was my fault to brake so deep and to Sagaris, I almost cost you too for waiting on the edge of the track ( I was waiting for Ferrari to pass me ), Did not notice that you were exiting the corner and I was in the way :( I did not go to the left side, was afraid I would block Ferrari's path.

Also this :D

DAT BODY ROLL

Hi Cote, we are in a room now, me and iainoflo85, racing his fireblade with my assorted cars, Cizeta V16T, Yellow Bird, Mach 1, Z33 ... good fun, 5 laps each :D

I'm enjoying these early weekend-morning track days. Its nice to wake up and get on GT5 and just have fun cruising around a track with a group of even-matched cars. 👍

Now I found that 370GT Skyline handles like a go kart, well not really close , .... Cizeta, Countach, Mach 1, Yellow Bird, Z33, Z34, Evos, then 370GT, so many choices, all are fun to drive hard. Cote's advice is Z33, it's fast, nimble and brakes real good ... confused ..

Looks like all positive feedback on the [post=7901637]New Banner Sample[/post]. I take it that it's approved?

Hi, Cote, the race I did for 10 laps with tire wear on, I got slower overall lap times from lap 1 to 9 all average of 1:29.xxx then lap 10, I broke into 1:28.xxx high. Almost a second faster on average every lap with tire wear off, same consistency for me. With tire wear on, the rear tires started to get twitchy on lap 4 onwards on the Mach 1, specially felt on the esses up hill just before the hairpin :D

Nurturing rear tire might have a hand on the slower lap times, it's an instinct

Still in the lounge :). can't make up my mind which car to use ...

Being faster overall with one setting or an other is irrelevant, as long as we all use the same setting.
My testing tells me that my lap times are more consistent with tyre wear off.
Probably because with tyre wear off the tyre are always optimum. Hence the consistent faster lap time.
Since all being on a similar consistent pace for the duration of our event is a key component to our formula, removing the variable of the tyre wear can appear to be a step in the right direction.

I send you a PM, Cote. Now I am having fun in karts :D

I also had sent you a PM and replied to yours, all is good, we are all trying to make our league a better league no harm into that.

Karts on Cape Ring South, that could be an idea.

All is well, I love having discussion :D, Iain joined in, he's testing his pink Fireblade :D so, no karts for now, it was great from cockpit view, wonder how scary would that be in 3D ;)

I'm open to removing tire wear if you guys think it will make better racing. From what I know, pre 2.09, taking tire wear off gives you more overall grip and is good for a second or more on many tracks, all else the same. I haven't tested it post 2.09 so it may have changed with the new physics.

It's not something we will do for this week, we'll discuss it over the Christmas break and figure it out. There is good and bad in this option.

The good is, it removes tire wear from the equation and might make for more consistency although I don't think that for most of us tire wear is a concern I know I don't even look at my tires in a race. But I know it gives a little better grip and predictability and that could help with consistency, but it could also mean we downgrade a tire here and there so who knows.

The bad is, it removes tire wear from the equation...lol. What it will do is allow a driver to pick a car that massively oversteers and basically drift around the track without any penalty in terms of tire wear. Although our races are not long, it can be a factor if you have the back end swinging around all the time. Hasn't been an issue so far and probably won't but you never know so I thought I'd mention it.

Was just running a Corvette Prototype race, SH tires, 478 HP, no Aids, and was running a solid 5th after missing a braking marker someone knocked down and dropped from 4th. Got DC'd after about 12/39 laps when 4th was about 3 seconds ahead and struggling for control and grip and 3rd seemed to be falling back quickly and about 2 seconds ahead of him. I couldn't see the front runners keeping that pace and not pitting and I'm pretty sure I could run the whole distance with about 50% tire wear.

DC'd!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

The host was from France and there were a few Euro's there, three Canucks, an American or two I think. I'm going to have to talk to my ISP this week and see if there is anything I can do to make my connection better but this hasn't really been an issue for me since I got a CAT6 cable about 18 months ago. 👎

Looks like we have same issue today, Iain and I got DC's numerous times :(

I did test race with Cote, tire wear off, 10 laps at Cape South, I ran 1 second faster on average than with tire wear on, same consistency. So I'll do off or on just fine :), I have saved the replay for the tire wear off and on ( with tire wear on : average 1:29.xxx, did broke into 1:28.xxx in last lap - I deliberately pushed it hard, but still slower than with tire wear off )
