Well, its nowhere near as fun as an NSX or HSC, but it gets the job done and that's what matters, plus it runs at 137mph, or 221km/h. However because its light, PD thinks it deserves a high PP rating. (P.S. Its not that great around corners, despite it being only 1060kg)

Extent of "Tuned:" I bought a suspension kit.

This sounded so great that even though there is no possibility I can make the race, I just had to try to tune a car for it. So I made a Volvo S60 go fast and was very close to the time when I got kicked out from my own lobby (PSN disconnected me). :P But wow this sounds like the best concept ever, wish I could try it. :)

Phouchg, I wish you could try it as well, all is needed is a Euro friendly race time and a few racer interested in that time zone.
Iain is from UK and might love the opportunity to race earlier, among your GT5 friends would some be interested? As you realize with the Dead Nuts Even every one is competitive, so many can participate.
I am open to organise an additional event every week if we have the attendance.👍

I can definitely make it if the room is early on Saturdays or Sundays, which would be like 1p.m. to 7p.m. in the UK. I'll ask some of my European friends if they'd like to join too. 👍

Yes, this would be good for me too. Though not always on Sunday, Saturday would suit best.

Fellas, we will be open to additional time slots. Weeknights (Euro nights) are a possibility, a universal timeslot on the weekend is a possibility, or both. Heck, every night is open if there is enough interest...lol. Problem for me is that I can't commit to either of those time slots. Afternoons (EST) are usually occupied and I'm not here every other weekend. So it means someone else would have to take care of the raceday, setting up the room, hosting the races, securing a backup host before the race etc. If we stuck to the same targets for each time slot there would be very little work to do and it would be a seamless entry from one event to the other so anyone qualified for the first one during the week, need only show up to the others and they're ready to go.

I am going to be in the lounge at 16h00 EST hoping to be able to practice/race with other fellow DNE Racer.
Post here if you are interested.

Edit, it is almost 16h00 and since no one as posted intention on beeing there, I am not going either.

Hi, Niko, it's been ages since we raced at Watermelon's room, she rarely online now. I am glad you join up, you will love it here :D I might be in the deadnuts lounge soon, be sure to join in if you are free.

Hey Orido, sorry if I missed you I was busy. But now I'm free but it did seem like the interest was pretty low today right?

I got DC'd while you guys racing, I managed to tune another car, too bad I can't join on Monday, wish you all have a great race :D

Had a few lap and a race with Niko ( Phouchg) too bad he cannot make it on our normal schedule, would be a great addition to the group.
We will have to try a Euro friendly event.

Orido, you need to fix that lag!

Yeah that was fun, too bad i can't make it on Monday.. i got to start messaging European guys to get that euro-series going.

Also, made the mistake of making a car that was really awesome in the corners.. and really unawesome on the straights ^^ got passed sooo easily, would have been last after every straight and then maybe been able to pass one car in the corners. :P

All I can do now is direct connection from my modem to PS3, less laggy ( I hosted no ABS practice public room this way ) but my ping ( send ) can't handle more than 6 drivers in a room but I can still see others smoothly up to 12 drivers ( receive ping okay ), less than 6 I rarely have lag issues ( mic off ). I'll just stay around the lounge during the week, tuning and testing various cars, maybe a few odd races during tuning/testing, I'll be sure to run direct modem to PS3, so with 3/4 drivers, I should not lag.

If you are interested running a GTR in the Euro series, it's got a pretty decent top speed 139mph, you saw it earlier, Nismo R33 GTR LM Road, its an FR :D, at around 427PP and SH, good for 1:13.99x consistently, so I'll drop a few PP to 425, anyone interested to run this car, I'll share the tune I use ( mild - just LSD, transmission and bolt on )

Thanks Orido but finding your own car is half the fun in this series so i'll probably still do that if the euro series get going. :)

That is unfortunate, I wish I knew how to help you. Do you know why you have an issue to start with, is it the connection of your provider that is not stable enough?
It is a shame but having your car moving back and forth prevent any close racing. It was only 3 of us this afternoon.

Earlier, I was using PS3 to PC connection, so the lag was there, should have used direct modem to PS3 ... the ping is weird one, I can play in Japanese room just fine ( up to 10 drivers in the room ), some UK room does lag when there's more than 6 drivers, probably just unstable connection, nothing I can do right now, I am limited to 6 driver in a room in order not to lag :( I'll check my modem, see if I can update the software or fiddle with the settings.

PS3 to PC connection? ethernet or wireless? why?
This the first time I hear about such a connection.

For me, my connection issues stopped when I got a Ethernet connection to my Modem/router all in one box. I had to change my modem, as before when the modem was connected to the router and the PS3 was connected to the router, it was not good enough.

CAT5 Ethernet, I am using my PC and PS3 together for internet, my modem also acts as a router. I can play other games online this way just fine, Battlefield, Sega Rally, most PSN games ...no lag even when my PC is downloading P2P ( torrent). Only having this annoying issue with GT5, and I am NAT 2. When using direct wired modem to PS3, GT5 seems less laggy and more stable, but only with less than 6 drivers in a room :(

Then it sounds like it is the service delivered by your provider that does not do the job. Have you looked at the DMZ link I posted the other day, it seems it has helped other challenged GT5 online players.

Yes, I did, I have also open ports used for online gaming, other games work fine ( I played Battlefield BC2 with 24 players and others using mic, no lag ), it seems I must have missed something that cause lag with PD's server when using peer to peer connection model ... I haven't tried to play with fixed host type connection, I might do that soon.

Sorry about the connection issues Rido, hope you get it sorted out so you can race with us again.

Top speed has been a hot topic of discussion around here the last few weeks. I started posting my top speed a few weeks ago in my standard Q car, the BMW Z4 and then last week we instituted a max speed and two compounds so that if you need help cornering you can get it from the tires without having to dramatically increase your speed to meet the target time.

Experience tells us that the best racing usually occurs when we are closer together in cornering speeds and as a result, top speed as well. A faster cornering car is a great front runner but not such a good car to move through the field with unfortunately.

Try to use my posted top speed as a guideline, you really don't want to be much below that if you can help it.

Just want to state my interest in a euro friendly event as the concept of this series is pretty damn good. 👍

However I'm very restricted on what times are good (weekends, 2pm-5pm).

Yeah I realize that now.. At first I actually had a good top speed at a couple of kph under the limit but then i started improving my driving drastically and had to cut my power from 100% down to 80%... if i would have added weight instead of removing power, would that have been better for speed?

It's worth experimenting with and I think it varies from track to track. I believe you have to go to extremes though to get any real dramatic effect. Adding 100 kgs to a car for example, barely affects handling at all. Keeping it at stock weight and adding 200 kgs would be more like it.

I think certain cars, the upper echelon of handling cars, should be avoided on most tracks. The NSX's (sorry Ferrari), Elises, Evoras, RX8's etc. handle so well and carry so much speed through the corners they will naturally be much slower in a straight line for the same lap time. Only the really twisty and tight tracks like Monaco or Autumn Ring would favour cars like that. I used an S2000R1 there and was very slow in the straights but did quite well overall.

On the other hand, consistency is very important. Our race lengths leave no room for error and the pressure is on from flag to flag to be at your limit because everyone else is. You can't lollygag for a couple of laps getting warmed up...lol. Small mistakes on Comfort and Sports tires create passing opportunities for good handling cars and the higher someone's top speed is, by default they have to have a poorer handling car.

The discussion has just opened up on a Euro Time Slot so we'll see what happens. Hopefully at some point in the near future we could add a weekend time slot for both NA and Euro drivers.👍

For those of you that aren't aware, Ford has written the most comprehensive [post=7779752]Guide to NoABS Driving[/post] for GTPlanet and it's well worth a read if you are even considering driving without ABS.
