I've not been keeping up to date and so have only just noticed that you have a Euro friendly time slot. I can't make it this weekend but I should be able to do every other one.
I don't think it have existed before maybe yesterday.. So you're not that late. ;)

Sorry, haven't been on the forum in days, four pages ago. And I haven't worked on a car for tonight at all. Have fun, good luck.

Hopefully there will be more.. it's almost a week left for them to sign up anyway :) (and for me to make up my mind)

Yes, I am not worried, I also understand that it is not so easy to commit, real life gets in the way all the time.
We have a good core for the Monday's now, and it has been well attended for a while now, but at the beginning it was not always evident.
The good news is that this formula gets quickly adictive, so most racers who try it become part of the core.
Starting the week end Euro friendly time will require patience and every one's imput and activity is greatly appreciated, thank you for your support. 👍

When I get home I'll make a post in the Spot Race Forum advertising this Euro Friendly race with links to our main OP....might pick things up a bit.

Just did a kwick race with Flesx, tonight should be particularely good, with the map in view one, I could keep an eye on him, specialy in turn one as with the draft, some decision will need to be made, lap after lap. :)

The thread is up in the Spot Race Forum. If you take a peek and there's anything I left out, let me know. I tried to keep it short and sweet with a link to this thread.

I've been dreading this post, but here it goes:

I've got the flu! I've been sick in bed with it for the past two days, and I'm finally getting better. However, I don't really think I'm up to par for racing quite yet. Everything is still a little cloudy.

I'll probably show up early tonight and maybe do a few laps to see if I'm all there. I just don't want to compromise someone's race because I'm doped out on cold medicine, and failed to react. So, I'm just putting in a warning so you all aren't surprised when I don't show up/ decide not to race. I'm really disappointed too. 👎:grumpy:

Very well done, thank you JP, short enough to be interesting to read but still covers all the important points.

I'm actually thinking about joining tonight since i don't have school tomorrow.. since i already have a car and all. Will post later when i'm sure.

I know how that feels..I sat out a couple of weeks ago for the same reason. Hopefully you feel well enough to race, if not, well enough to spectate. We might need a steward for the first corner...:ouch::nervous::scared:💡

Hope you can make it Phou. Just want to put some emphasis on the first couple of races, the short sprints. These are more for sorting and figuring out how your car will run in traffic and if you get a couple of clear laps and exceed the target, you can adjust PP accordingly. We don't record them or anything like we do the longer heat races. Most of us tend to take fewer risks in those races, or at least that's the theory behind it anyway...lol.

:dopey: Maybe! There still isn't a better way to watch a race than in the middle of it, however!

Thanks Johnny I'll remember that if I get to race tonight, otherwise it'll still be useful when i finally get the time to join you. :)

I'm heading into the Lobby shortly to get a few laps in my Jag and do some last minute refining. I might take off for a bit so if I don't answer your messages it means I'm not there...:dopey:

I would like to join your race series if I can tune a car appropritely.

I will start out with the Nissan 350Z GT Academy '08 and see what times I get.

If I read your rules correctly, I need to be able to run 1:14 laps and no faster at Grand Valley East Reverse?

Thanks

I really enjoyed tonight's racing once again. I think we have a winner in the two compound formula. It did not seem to matter what car or driver was ahead of me, the pace seemed very consistent in the corners and in the straights. Not exact and it never is of course, but so close it's hard to believe sometimes that we are not all perfectly equal drivers...:)

Congrats to Sag and Iain on a stellar performances tonight with two wins each.👍👍 In one race I passed Iain for the lead once in the closing laps, he passed me back next lap, then I passed him in the tunnel heading into the 2nd gear right hander and he outbraked me on the outside to take the lead for good!!!! Tremendous racing!!!

Good to see a couple of new faces on the grid..thanks for coming out Niko and Sail...hope you come back next week!!

Well, well, well, I made up my mind upon the new formula, it rocks.
Tonight we had, in my point of view, the best ever, also one of the most attended event, also one of the most international.
Life was good tonight in the Dead Nuts Even Racer loundge.
A particular mention to Niko for racing with us in the very early hour in Sweeden, same for Iain in UK, we are not taking it for granted, and last award for Ferrari who drove even if was sick.
Also welcome to Sail, for his first appearance, we hope you enjoyed yourself and will be back for more fun.

Yes the new formula is certainly working - the gaps are not so large between front and middle, and middle and back. Plus the racing is much closer than I ever remember, as well.

Let's hope the Saturday slot can be as full.

Wonderful racing tonight, the old spirit of Parity is coming back, I believe. Racing Phouchg was awesome, we were side-by-side through many corners. Excellent performance for the first time in the group. 👍

Not to get all mushy, (maybe its the cold medicine) but I really enjoy the group we've got here. The races don't seem so stuffy and professional like some other series. TB and I jokingly run into eachother as much as possible when the timer starts, and we all can enjoy a good joke once a race ends. I believe this creates a respect among the drivers: we're more forgiving of mistakes or bumps once in awhile, because we always know its unintentional. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to next week. :dopey:

Target time achieved with 1971 Mustang Mach 1, 404 PP and full stock weight + full ballast, CS Tires, tire wear off.
Top speed at end of front straight - 209 km/h (130 mph)
Maximum Speed 218 km/h (136 mph)

Heat 1: 5 laps, fastest first
Heat 2: 5 laps, reverse grid
Race 1, 2 and 3: 12 laps, reverse grid.

Note: This is a dual compound race on CS and SH Tires. If you cannot meet the target time under the Max Speed on CS Tires, you must switch to SH.
Car selection is limited to American Muscle only pre-1979 including the Trans Cammer. We'd like to stick to street only for this race but if you need a race car to make the target that's ok too.

Apologies for being too fast during some of the races. I got faster and faster as the evening went on and I lowered my pp from 405 when I entered the room down to 393 for the last race. I won twice, but they were both undeserved as my car was a few tenths too fast in both. I'm most proud of my last race, were I drove great to finish ahead of Fles and Ferrari.

sagarism / Toyota Soarer 2.5 GT-T '97 / Standard / 399-393 pp / Bolt-on / SM / ABS / 139 mph

I tried to race a car that handled poorly with SM tires instead of a better handling car with SH. The difference between the tires is about 1.5 seconds. I tried to get a better picture of whether better handling or better grip is more conductive to better racing, my feeling is that grip+top speed seems to be better/easier than good handling to be successful racing here. But there is no clear advantage either way.

The track-map arrows are pointing the wrong way.

You would notice that...lol..I was hoping no one would. The last one was the same way and it slid by...lol...:).

Thanks for the apologies Sag. It's great to know that in a group that qualifies for races completely on their honour and with no checks and balances within the game, that we are honest enough to call ourselves out when we perform a little better than expected. 👍👍 On a side note, now it makes sense how you got that piece of crap to turn...lol...I didn't realize you had SM tires on.

Sounds great next monday, would be great to use my green Camaro RM from Nurb GP/D FITT shootout :) I'll be in the lounge during the week, testing and tuning old muscles, maybe a short race too.

New Rule: Green is only allowed on British Cars...lol..

Thanks for the good words from some of you, I had so much fun all night and the racing was tight all the time! :) Had some fights with Ferrari so he'll get a special mention, side by side for 7 laps in one of the races.. that is why you play these kind of games. :)

Oh and no I did not post an official entry because my car wasn't ready until just before race start. Had a great handling car before but the top speed was like 210.. so i threw out the suspension set up and increased the power a lot.. that's why my car handled like a dog. :)

Anyway here's what i was racing..

Phouchg/xNikodemusx/Volvo S60 T-5 Sport '03/Standard/463PP/Mild tune/SH/ABS1/223km/h

That mild tune would be 0,5 in camber because I wanted it to actually turn a little when I told it too.. but couldn't do too much or I would have gone too fast again. (other upgrades on my Volvo included, weight reduction stage 3, ECU, semi racing exhaust, clutch and flywheel upgrades)
