These car are the best ever! Me and Sagarismic had some really tight racing with cote occasionally in the mix. :)

Probably won't make another Monday but if these are driven a time i can do, this is my car:

Phouchg/xNikodemusx/Plymouth Superbird '70/Standard/436PP/Bolt on/CS/ABS1/217km/h

(Bolt ons are ECU and titanium racing exhaust)

Sorry I got black screen with GT5 logo after race then DC'd - got back to menu :(, I am back in the lounge now, tuning more muscle.

Hey I know Tim from ReadyOrNotRacing. Hes a good clean driver, never had any problems with him. I think Hell be a great addition to the group.

Great, when you have a chance, put it in the descrition of your car.👍

DNE Racers, about Saturday special event, would it be better to run the muscle cars or should we stick to what we ran Monday?

I don't mind which - what time is it again?

sagarismic / Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 '70 / Standard / 430pp / Tuned / CS / ABS / 135 mph

Great fun with the practice races earlier. Should be even better with a full grid.

The only problem is I see is that the pony cars and sports cars will be at a disadvantage alongside the true muscle cars. Unfortunately, these monster cars have such poor handling that it requires a massive amount of power and straight-line speed to get near the target time. Thus the acceleration advantage over mustangs, corvettes and camaros is huge. And yet, cars like the Plymouths and Chevelle are the core of what we know as muscle cars and such an event would be strange without them. For the best racing, I'd suggest we either all move into muscle cars or we all move into pony/sports cars, as a mix might be interesting but could upset some drivers. If we leave things as they are, I at the least would have to warn those in pony/sports cars that it could very well be a difficult challenge on Monday.

Yeah me and Sag in the Superbird and Chevelle had a massive advantage over cote and Orido in a Camaro (?) and a Challenger. Just flew by on the straights and even though we were slooow in the corners they couldn't really go round us and as soon as we got the power down the cars flew away again. But if you want a challenge then that could be an alternative. :)

True, I tried to draft both of you on the main straight from the left corner exits, I got left behind before crossing the finish line, my top speed was 131 mph /212 kmh, managed low/mid 1:17 on CS driving the Challenger. The only opportunity to pass is around corners or outbraking into the corner ( tunnel exit ). Passing right after the hilly esses is impossible, and the last chance would be the last left turn.

I did bog down on the start of the race as I forgot to time the rev :( if I did launch well, I could have kept up behind very close :)

I might use the standard cars ( C1,2,3 Vettes, GT350R, GTO, SuperBee ? ), they have better acceleration, less handling and needs SH tire to reach target time, but should be able to keep up with SuperBird and Chevelle SS.

I had SH on the Superbird first but it was too fast so i had to change to CS. Now I'm laying smoke clouds in every corner. :) But yes if you can get a good first and second corner you could pass in to the hairpin at the tunnel exit. and if you get ahead enough ahead of the straight we won't pass until after the finish line.. seems inevitable that we pass every time on the straight though.

In light of the comments about probable disparity between various muscle car model we shoul;d probably stick with what we raced last Monday for the special Saturday event, 9h30 edt/ 14h30 UCT, and go for the muscle car next monday and the following special week end event.
If times allow and participants are willing we could still do an additional muscle car race after the official special event tomorrow.

1. Cote Dazur
2. Naptown25rs

4. Ferraridude308

Now that I've worked out what time that'll be - it should be great, early afternoon here.

I think it is still worth running the muscle cars Monday night. I doubt the disparity is any greater than some of the other weeks we have had. I bet the cars a bit closer in real racing scenarios than we think.

Whats going on Saturday?

perfect thanks...and thats the limit right, nothing below 1:14.00 right?

yes, you are correct, you are not supposed to be able to lap faster than 1'14.000. Also very important that you can maintain the pace ( 1'14.xxx ) consistently and with some control.👍
Keep an eye on the top speed as of course you do not want to be faster than the max top speed allowed for the event, but you also do not want to be to far off it, look at the other racer top speed posting. In other word if you favor handling over speed too much, you will be in the pace but might find the race less exiting.

It is Muscle Cars on Monday, that hasn't changed.

I'm doing this from my phone so I'll keep it brief. The cat is out of the bag!

GTP_WRS Online : Parity Racing (Deep Forest - Register for Feb 16)

Yes its the folks at WRS who are giving the DeadNutsEven/Parity League Formula a go. You'll find all the details in the link, but take note that you have to be a qualified GTP Registry Member to enter the event. I highly recommend giving the Registry Qualifier a go at some point, its well worth the effort and the group is very positive and supportive.

Thanks, Johnny, Cote, and Track for supporting us in stealingborrowing your great idea!

I can't wait to get started, so as Cote and I have just been PM'ing about, I'm going to try hard to get a car ready tonight, and try even harder to get up e..a..r..l..y tomorrow to try and join the GVER races. Either way, good luck to those who make it. 👍

For Saturday I got the Soarer onto the pace and below the top speed limit on SH tires. Just. Car can barely turn no matter what.

sagarism / Toyota Soarer 2.5 GT-T '97 / Standard / 412 pp / Tuned / SH / ABS / 142 mph

@Ridox, nice choice. 👍 I think I'll check it out right now, even though I'd already narrowed it down to:

BMW 120d '04 (yeah, diesel)
DeLorean S2 '04 (yeah, BTTF)
Merc 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution II '91

I'll update later tonight with my final choice, but Marty McFly is looking good at the moment.

Awesome! I've been looking for a decent tune for this car for ages... Definitely going to give it a drive tomorrow morning! 👍

I should probably be going to bed if I'm going to wake up so early tomorrow. :sly: Maybe I'll qualify the new 370z thanks to Iain & Cote, its definitely not going to be 0/0/0 for long!
