Decide to contact Porsche today.

EA kill gaming with throwing huge somes at licenses and then wacking in clauses to prevent use.

Fifa & Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer is an example, Konami will never be able to afford to match the huge somes that EA will stump up to secure the single rights.

Same thing EA did too Nascar, NBA and Baseball and i'm sure that lists bigger

That is pure speculation, so please not post it as if you know it to be a fact, because unless you work for Porsche's marketing department you are in no position to state the exact reason.

Its just as likley that Porsche have an issue with the GT series containing Ruf models and may not want people to be able to make a back to back comparison with them

Scaff

Not to mention the inescapable link between GT and the GT-R which is known to be a source of discomfort and overt defensiveness for Porsche.

LMAO, wrote that e-mail 14 years old boy?

Next time, contact Porsche in Stuttgart and write more constructive letter.

Proof that the highest price does not always get you the highest quality.

This thread made me learn that when one refers to a language, the first letter should be capitalized. Not that way in portuguese ... ops ... Portuguese ;)

it's his opinion.. he said it.. besides before you click the Gran Turismo 5 sub-forum you will see this:

Gran Turismo 5 (412 Viewing)
News, rumor, and speculation about Gran Turismo 5.
you're moderator.. you must know it.. just to remember.. 👍

@Wildchildpr: thanks a lot for your effort and dont pay attention to those who are whining about your "bad spelling" message.. you did something that some couldnt and wont do 👍 and that might put pressure on that manufacture (to avoid comments from spell checkers 👎) to enter in GT series someday.. i'll send a message too to help ;)

He edited his post after Scaff pointed it out, to say "In my opionion" (sic).

you're admin.. you must know it.. just to remember.. 👍

There are two Admins. Neither Scaff nor I are amongst that number.

There is a world of difference between speculation - "Money?" - and statement of fact - "Money.". We are in a position to speculate, but not to state fact.

Yeah I didn't do it to undermine him,I didn't realise that's how it would read, i just thought it would come across as spammming to acknowledge it then edit.

I edited it in acknowledgement of his post.

Sorry, for the misunderstanding M-A-Y

And that's exactly how it appeared to me. You said something, someone pointed out an error, you amended it to eliminate the error. No problem.

I don't care if you speak English, French, German, Spanish or Portuguese. Porsche is still spelled Porsche with a capital P and a c, and if you can't get that right in a letter you're sending to Porsche....

Yes, be konstruktiv liek dis kid :dunce:.

C'mon - the guy tried and English is not his first language, so that gives you scope to call him a child?.

Oh - and there should be a 'who' and an 'a' in your post somewhere.

Anyways. NFS-S isn't exactly a great representation of how cars act, but I am having so much fun with my Porsche GT3RS that I have decided not to modify it - it's that good. If PD has the potential to capture this amazing drive if they were to make a Porsche (who knows, maybe they already have secretly for fun), then I would love to see their attempt and I'm barracking for it and anyone's attempt to ask Porsche to let them. However, I cannot help thinking that the Yellowbird (if it were to make a comeback) would be just as involving.

Yes, but is that all you have to say (like some members did) about the OP's initiative? I think the "problem" here is more about attitude then about spelling.

I speak for myself, I try as hard as I can to write properly in English, but frankly I try at least as hard as that to have here a nice, friendly attitude towards others, even when I don't agree with what they say, do, or how they behave.

And - again frankly - I regard as more important my "attitude" effort than my "spelling" effort.

EDIT: Then again, I forgot to capitalize the name of a language ... corrected now :dopey:

he made a mistake... no one is perfect! and people shouldn't put him down by that type of issues... it counts the intention.. and they replied very well (it really doesn't seams an automatic message as someone already said)

Waste of time. Do you think they don't know all you suggested? They are licensed to other developers, simple as that. You simply got a standard reply, and the reality is nobody else at Porsche will read that e-mail.

Yes, he used his initiative, but if he'd read the "Should Porsche be in GT5" thread (which, if he really wants Porsche to be in GT5, he should have) he'd know why they're not in it as the Interceptor had already sent a message to Porsche, and received a good reply about how they should be in GT5 but can't be because of licensing issues.

he made a mistake... no one is perfect!
5 times. You can't accidentally miss-spell a word 5 times.

im not saying it was accidentally.. i said he made a mistake! but i think he got it at this moment...

lets get on topic

Ahem!

You guys might have missed that I already did contact Porsche Germany, and that I did get an extensive reply. Read this thread from here on.

Let's focus in the goal; As I said before, if many people try maybe Porsche change position and make deal with PD; But if we stay checking spelling or else and don't act, Porsche never knows how many people are interested in this licence issue.

Just send an simple email to Porsche USA, MUSEUM or GERMANY (5minutes), the more people doing it; Porsche will take note. We have nothing to loose.

Another thing is that y reply to Sara from Porsche showing her videos from others manufacturers (FERRARI,MERCEDES), inclusive send this forum adress. Let's see their response from my reply. If any of you forum friends wants to try to achieve something positive, give a try.

Even if it was possible to get Porsche's in GT5 the best bet would be DLC. However I doubt there will be Porsche's in GT5 at all because of the deal with EA who knows how long that deal is. Plus i remember reading something that kaz said about porsche exclusive deal with another company. He obviously contacted them and tryed to get them in. Im sorry for you porsche fans out there I like porsche but there not the top of my list of companys im stoked that Lamborghini and Ferrari is in thats good enough for me.

I just got the 2nd answer from Porsche!

The story so far: I sent an e-mail to Porsche, asking them whether they can afford not to be in Gran Turismo, on which they replied that they have an exclusive license with Electronic Arts which they don't want to break (read here). Then, I replied that there are non-EA-games (like GTR or Forza) which do have Porsche cars. Here's their answer:

Dear Mr. XXX

thank you for your reply of September 14th 2009. We are happy that you own "Need for Speed - Posche unleashed", as you said.

You are correct. Indeed, it does happen that Porsche models appear in computer games. On the one hand, there are cases where Porsche cars are included without our approval. We usually file a lawsuit against that.

On the other hand, there are a few sublicenses handed out by Electronic Arts. This happens to be the case for the Forza Motorsport game series. Due to our close cooperation with Electronic Arts, we accept their entrepreneurial decisions to give out sublicenses. Electronic Arts operates in the area of entertainment software, we operate in the area of producing cars. In terms of a good partnership, we only deem it best to let every one of our partners operate freely in their respective branch. Even if that means that there will be decisions which we would have met differently.

We hope to have helped you with these informations and that the fun in gaming will furthermore be yours.

with best regards
XXX XXX

So EA is to blame! Shift is a good game, but i would prefer to drive Porsche cars in GT5, since it has the better physics and a higher overall quality.
