Good luck with the replay.
And I hope that those settings work for you, I backed them off a bit from a true time trial setup into something that is more manageable over a race distance.

Jet Badger
Tommorow I finally have a day off, I will probably submit my time if I don't get the message about the replay 3rd time. Plus I still have to test Bopop4's settings and improve my laptimes
If you do get the same message around third time, just add those missing laps to your total time, it's better than not submiting at all. :)

First of all, sorry for the double post. Secondly...

Results updated. Check post 1 for further details.

Congratulations to our winner !! As always, most intensive battles were held at top positions.

Special thanks to all who contributed to this challenge. It was a very fun experience, I hope we all share the same feelings. :)

Sorry. Maybe next time... :guilty: I was pacticing a lot this morning, then I had to do some work and then the sun came down. Anyway I failed to beat even the 1'20 mark, not talking about 1'19  Need more practice.

I had a feeling my Mercedes would be taking the top spot. It simply was in a class of its own with the gobs of horsepower and torque.I'll have to check, but I think it ran consistently in the low 1'18's and my best lap was a high 1'16. The suspension tuning probably shaved off 2 sec/lap.

The Skyline was 37'45.973, just 3 seconds behind the other Nissan. I'm really happy the 4WD could compete as well as it did.

Oh, I also ran a 38'05.746 in the Lotus.

It must've been haulin'.
And all of that my NSX suspension tuning for nothing, ah well, next time at the 50 miler.

Congrats to everyone who entered, especially thc118 for taking out the top spot & also to Matej for hosting.

I was a little surprised by the results, I thought that a car around the 1200kg, therefore 400HP range would be the best way to get a quick time. And hence, I really thought that Bopop4 and a NSX would be a pretty unbeatable combo, but thc118 sort of disproved that.
I guess when there's no tyre degradation more power and weight (at least until you start wheel spinning everywhere) is probably the way to go.
Though I guess it's all track dependent as well.

FYI; The database I made had the Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car as the best car (best overall was apparently the (non eligible) JGTC ASL Arta Garaiya) for this comp. (though the SLR was only ranked 188th so maybe it wasn't as great as I would have liked)

My average lap with Tamora was about 1'22. Very balanced car, but sometimes feels too sluggish (something that I cannot associate with TVR cars in general :indiff:).

I tried the TVR Griffith 500, and it's lap times where around 1:23's, so when Bopop4 mentioned he had a best lap in the 1:18's, I thought I should try something else. (I know I'm not that much slower than him)
The Nissan 350Z I ended up using just felt more "pinned down" and I got my best lap time down to just under 1:20 because of it.

Does anyone else here want to do the 50 miler?
It's run under similar rules except that the cars are slightly randomized.

Seriously, anyone has a doubt that I'm a bad driver? I need some serious practice. I won't deny Deep Forest isn't among my favorite tracks, but this seriously proves it that I simply can't compete with anyone. I'm 5 seconds slower per lap than everyone else. (5 seconds compared to the CLOSEST COMPETITOR. If you compare to 1st place it's way, way, way, way, WAY more.)

If you want to get faster the best way (well my opinion) is to go back to the license tests.
If you want to be competitive with the front runners, you'll need to be able to get gold times for all the license tests.
And they're good for learning how to improve as they have a wide range of cars that you'll need to master, as well as the demo runs (and your prev best ghost replay) to aim for.

In summary the more time you spend driving in GT4, the more speed you'll gain.
