After chatting with the SCEA folks at the GT Awards, I can confirm all the aforementioned legal issues with the car are the reasons it has been removed from the game for now.

The production team is obviously not happy about that, and they are well aware of the public reaction and demand for the car and hope to get it back in as soon as possible. However, it's really out of their hands at this point.
Has GT6 started printing yet? Could there be a chance that the DeltaWing could be buried in the code ala The Red Bull 5G, car?

Mr. Panoz is a b****
He has a very understandable position to take on this. Imagine being involved with a whole group of people with a revolutionary car, and suddenly all of those people abandon the project leaving you the only one left to keep it going... then you see that all those people got together to make their own car which is almost completely identical to the one you were left with.

I'd wanna start exploring legal action, too.

As I said before, I wouldn't be too hard on Don Panoz - it's just unfortunate that gamers have been caught in the crossfire of a pretty reasonable image rights issue.

Remember though, without Don Panoz, Deltawing wouldn't even have existed. Nor would North American sportscar racing as we know it.

But e-tron version screams when you brake. It's like the car doesn't like to be slow down.
Thats what makes it awesome... The TS030 never screamed... Maybe the Porsche will sound similar?

And talking about that, I haven't found any news with regards to their LMP project.. At all.. Since June.

Back to the Deltawing. It is a shame that the Deltawing is included in this, and it isn't just between the DeltaWing coupe. Although I'd prefer to have all three of these vehicles in game, I'm not sure if I'm ever going to take the time to appreciate the DeltaWing coupe as much as the Deltawing.

PD should learn from this by the use of public affection. As you can see, there is a LARGE majority of us who would really want it in game. Well, so what. What is that supposed to mean? Well it means that for some reason, we are feeling a distinguishable affection for the car. It might be the fact that it never raced that much in front of all our eyes, or that it never had a shot to win (overall), only to compete in its class (a class of its own). So what we need to see done now, is cars that are made with a distinct love for something, that makes us fans go ballistic for it.

And I think in the Vision trailer, they almost hit it spot on. By grabbing some of the most famous motor companies attention and asking to do something totally unique, there is something that captivates our minds as to what is under that cover? It makes us think about everything that one company did, all it's greatness, all it's positive things that we love, all combined into one car, and we have over 20 who are partaking in this. What PD didn't do, was grab the cars they already make.. Aston Martin for example, are in this Vision project. They of course we all know, make some of the most beautiful and elegant luxury sport cars, we have ever seen. Well that's all cool and stuff but where am I going? Well we already know that we got the One-77, something they love as much as we do. But what we didn't get, was their heritage. Racing is directly transmitted into production road cars. So we got that one car called the V-12 Vantage right? Well, what about those little inlets on the hood. Where did they come from? Well if you look when they first brought the V-8 in 2008 to the ILMC, it didn't have the inlets, however, in 2009 after testing and data gathering, they added stuff to the GT racer and tadaah... We get inlets on the hood. Sometime after that (from 2010-2011) AM introduced the inlets on the Vantage, and other models.

So long story short, the vision project is cool. In fact, it's more than cool, it's frickin epic. But I think PD could've squeezed out more from Automakers when they went up and said "hey, we got this plan that's going to make money in 15 years when everyone grows up and pays taxes. You in?" (That's probably not what they said).

Anyways, that whole post was basically saying that I would like the AM LMP1's, and the Lotus/Rebellion LMP1's. I just added some fluff..

Thank you for the update @Jordan! Hopefully we'll see the Deltawing return once all the legal matters are sorted out.

I would trade the DW for any of LMP2 cars, can't say I'm sorry for the loss ;)

I would like to see lmp2's in the game but not at the expense of other cars..

I also just had a flashback from June. I wonder if PD added the Michelin board at the end of the pit straight..

On this you could see the engine turning. There is a TDI on it...

PD should compensate us with another car, maybe one that is supposed to be on DLC.

Yeah... I'd like to see a prototype of equivalence... I'm about to do some hunting for one similar

Holy crap... I've seen a few of the videos from them but not that engine video... Hard to tell what that engine will be but I assume its a V-6. Looked quite tall and no where near the 120 degree angle the Audi TDI sits on. Cool to see its powered by an electric motor up front, but IMO, I think it might hurt them. I'm no engineer, (yet) but it looks like the center of mass is exactly where the driver sits. Those motors up front are super tall, and I thought I saw a splitter on a splitter but then I looked back to the R 15 and the R18 and they're practically as close as the Porsche.

I wish they'd give it a name already. Not sure though if that means it will be licensed only to EA, because EA has no where to put a car of its own in. It's a waste of a sponsorship and Porsche need to realize, more money can be made. Think of all the sims and arcade racing games that are out and would feature it in theirs. Now count them up again because I'm sure you missed a few..

Actually, it's TDFI. Could be Turbo Diesel Fuel Injection or Turbo Direct Fuel Injection.

Sadly, I don't think that we gonna see that car in GT, or even in Forza, pCARS and what have you. EA 🤬. If this turns out to be true, it could be one of the most beautiful prototypes ever. (I think that the car will go with Red Bull on it. Alcohol sponsorship isn't allowed on France, where Le Mans is)

About compensations, I would like to have the Toyota TS030, the Lola Rebellion, or even the Astons that raced couple years ago.

I fear the disappearance of the DeltaWing pushes release date.

If there are events dedicated to this car or whatever, it'll take some time to correct.

Can't they just patch it's appearance? ie. paint it camoflage or black, and rename it the Don

Just until legal issues are sorted

Yeah, its as if you dont have a set sponsorship for something, Red bull will take anything.

"Who ya gonna call?" ... Im just gonna stop there

it's more of a body copy that Nissan and Ben Bowlby did, not so much as just a transfer of names.

Not really, if they are half decent developers, it will just be dropped from a possible list of cars to appear. I doubt its 'hard coded' in to any extent. Modern games often make heavy use of scripting for things like events etc. They probably don't even need a rebuild to take a car out.

The release date is stuck now I think, they are committed to it - if there was any delay we would know by now. Any problems will be patched at this point IMO.

I wont be surpruse if MS, T10, or EA has anything to do with this.
What mean? R18 Ultra more beautiful of R18 E-Tron? (Because E-Tron is more fast...)

You're unlikely to see the e-tron version in games at all for a while, reason being is the amount of secrecy and rule-bending on that car, it's got a clever means of by-passing the anti-exhaust blow diffuser rules as well as several other examples of hidden trickery.

Game is already in print, date won't change. If anything they will just have a mandatory patch Day 1 that removes it from the game.

Exactly. Why people keep thinking otherwise is beyond me. This game is compact and far more flexible then GT5 so removal of a car will hardy affect the release date.
