You know what would be great to see? If at some point PD has the option to pay Panoz the $1Mill but instead goes to the net and conducts a poll of GT fans like this:

We have $1,000,000 to spend, please pick one:

1. DeltaWing
2. X number of additional cars we could model with that same $1Mill.

use the 1 million to get the R18 e-tron and the toyota ts030

Looool, this is like really bad German, used google translate huh?!
german cars all the way, doesn't translate that well ^-^

'Das beste oder nichts' <- quote of a good german car maker is much better than above :)

actually i just took it out of an English to Deutsche book...

R18 Ultra(diesel) > e-tron

nahh... the sounds when they braked to go into chicans (especially forza chicane at Le Mans) were epic..

It's worth noting that Polyphony actually very rarely pay much - if at all - for licencing. Generally car manufacturers want to be in the games because it's free advertising to youth (well... 15-25) markets who grow up to buy cars based on brand soft-spots developed from Gran Turismo. An almost guaranteed 5 million homes with familiarity of driving your product? No brainer.

I'd be very surprised if PD paid seven figures just for the Deltawing roadster. I'd be much less surprised if a relevant department at Nissan just lumped it in with the agreement for GT6, figuring that they owned the commercial rights to the Nissan Deltawing (after all, it was a factory entry and Nissan sold a lot of hats, posters and T-shirts) and that this has ended up being the source of the - hopefully temporary - dispute over the Deltawing name to which Don Panoz owns the rights.

As the people who lose out here it's fairly natural to feel bummed out, but I wouldn't say it's Don Panoz's fault (he took a risk with Deltawing, so his property rights should be recognised), Nissan's fault (Nissan ran the roadster as their own factory team with tons of capital behind it - and one very upset garage 56 when Nakajima totalled it) or PD's fault (they spent tons of man hours modelling it in good faith). It's just one of those things.

They'll sort it out.

and that is the plus side to it as well.. i am quite sure that the game has already been in printing process and they will have included it in game. We can all righlty expect to see the day one patch kaz mentioned a while back, but with the inclusion of the deletion of the Deltawing. If it all goes well, I am sure that a simple uncover code will be released as an update, and we'll be able to have the car. It is a waiting game now..

I would have thought (uninformed presumption) that the GT6 discs will have already been manufactured with the Deltawing present. In which case, if you don't connect your PS3 to the internet then it won't get deleted.

Or all GT6 discs are scrapped, they have to manufacture them all again and GT6 release gets delayed until February.

What mean? R18 Ultra more beautiful of R18 E-Tron? (Because E-Tron is more fast...)

maybe he doesnt like the coloring. When it first came out i never liked it. It was a bit ... "posh" to me but ive gotten to really like it after about 6.23x10^23 bugs are splattered on it..

I think they should have started the printing already, which means there's no going back. Im sure we'll see a day one update with the deletion code to take it out or at least hide it. But im not so sure im going to do that first... i sorta want to have my 30 mins of fun around le mans

According to one of Jordan's posts from the Willow Springs event it isn't actually 'gold' yet - although it is feature complete, bar testing. So my guess is the copy we get on day one will be sans Deltawing :(

maybe, but speculation between talks of company to questioneers can always occur. its a lot of copies they have to make and then ship em out so we will see

That's what I fear, someone will hack the game and unlock t

No I like the looks of it, but diesel produces more torque, I have no problem with hybrid technology, I just think diesel sounds better.

I dont think ill be too worried about hackers.. id actually want to see it in the game. But for the R18...

there is nothing like the sound of it braking and going through 5th gear

Man, I wish Porsche could see that, I bet in the long run their exclusivity deal will cost them more than they make on it. Especially when Forza 4 fans have to pay 20$ to get them back.

Please enlighten me if I missed that information, but is there any official confirmation of the Deltawing being left out of the game besides disappearing from that provisional list?

Aesthetically it's a perfectly legitimate opinion.
I find the appearance of the E-Tron slightly more sober and i prefer it to the TDI version, this does not mean that the TDI is bad, far from it :)

It was previously listed on the official gt site. It has now been removed.

DeltaWing Racing replied to my tweet:

@DeltaWingRace - original DW was slated for inclusion in Gran Turismo 6. It's been removed tonight on the car list. Is it a licensing issue?

DeltaWing Racing ‏@DeltaWingRace 12h
@TheOnlyMrCoady Alex - I believe so...

@Jordan, when you published the GT6 car list, this confirms it. Licensing.

Well DeltaWing themselves say its licensing.

Can't this be solved just by using a different dealership name in GT6?
Probably, but Nissan might then spit the dummy out. If it was this simple, they they probably would have just sorted it, but my guess is it will take some months. They would also have to remove all the Nissan branding.

After chatting with the SCEA folks at the GT Awards, I can confirm all the aforementioned legal issues with the car are the reasons it has been removed from the game for now.

The production team is obviously not happy about that, and they are well aware of the public reaction and demand for the car and hope to get it back in as soon as possible. However, it's really out of their hands at this point.

Dear Mr. Panoz: I hate you. Very much.

Thanks for the info @Jordan. Unfortunate, but I guess I can deal with it. Like I've said before, there's another 1200 cars to play with in the game. :)

Just like I thought, thanks Jordan.
