I'm no fan of new american cars either, if that's what you're getting at.

Its nice to know that Scandinavia makes good cars.. (Volvo is just about it. Scalia and Saab are well.. Gone)... No, seriously, the US SUCKS at making cars. As if we can't copy the next big thing, in which China or some other country like Malaysia will do it after the US but cheaper...I'm no fan of new american cars either, if that's what you're getting at.
More reading was found tonight.

Basically from the second article, I saw that Mr. panoz was the only one left to work on the project. (Of course Michelin helped but that was only in monetary funds I saw) I have still yet to find where it says he owns the patents and rights for the car... Because all I have found is that he owns the name DeltaWing, and the car itself.
And now to the money part of this. Whether or not the Panoz legal team win the infringement, there is most likely going to be a big price to have it in any social media or video media ... Anywhere.
Here is a direct quote from him with CarandDriver: "That car is a favorite of  the fans, which draws interest, which draws sponsorship. So many people tell me they have trouble telling the prototypes apart, but they instantly recognize the DeltaWing. That's important, because I like selling cars. We are in that business." His second word, sponsorships... Last word: business. It's all about the money to mr Panoz, and nothing else to the fans (only to get more money from product promotion [this is economics.. Duh]). Well, the fans of what? The car or the sport? Greed comes in all forms of fashion but this is the mortal form of it here. I hate to bash people and especially ones who have more leverage to things in which I don't, but this is just for the money.
"When I retired, the value of my company was greater than all the banks in Ireland." And then he says "But my wife and I are certainly not billionaires."
This is coming from the man who created the nicotine patch... You don't think he did it for the money, but for the well being of society? Who is that to be the one to prove but speculation can say otherwise.
All I can say to the rest of us is that Mr. Panoz WILL make the DeltaWing available but for a price. It's the same with many other things in life. If you don't have the money, you don't get the honey... (Why can't the us government just listen to that now)
IF that's the case, then I fully support PD removing the DeltaWing and not paying Panoz the million dollars. Why? Because I prefer not having that car than giving more money to such a colossal...femenine hygiene product. It's still a big IF so let's wait and see how this story unfolds.

You know what would be great to see? If at some point PD has the option to pay Panoz the $1Mill but instead goes to the net and conducts a poll of GT fans like this:
We have $1,000,000 to spend, please pick one:
1. DeltaWing
2. X number of additional cars we could model with that same $1Mill.
Well in modelling time. The average pay in California for modelling is 35/h Japan probably isn't much different, there are 40 hours in a week and 6 months... 35x40x24 = ... 33600 For the modelling effort of one car, and then there is the sound and the programming and everything. Equipment... say 50,000 per car, to recreate. Average licensing to put it in the game? I have no idea, but it I would guess 50-100k, so each car in game is maybe on average 100-150k, the price of a new Audi R8... O.o
edit: personally, I am modelling a car (240Z?) for a future animation, I have worked on it about 10 hours now, and it doesn't look very high quality... It is about GT2 in HD quality.
6 months is routinely given as the time to model a car in GT but it's never been confirmed that they mean 6 months of time spent on modelling. It could mean 6 months from conception of the idea until it's ready for the game or it could mean a lot of things. Regardless you're probably in the ball park in terms of the cost of a car, so several cars could be made for that same $1Mill that may be spent on a Deltawing license/permission. I'm guessing most people would vote for multiple cars over the Delta![]()

There was always DLC for Siena, too...Damn, that's not good. Well there's hopefully DLC for its return.
thats a huge (& low) blowWardez (who's on the SEMA floor right now) just let me know that the DeltaWing is definitely out.
They're not letting him know much more than that, right now. But don't expect the DW to make a miraculous comeback. Such a shame, I wanted to drive that car the most.

Honestly, I never felt that ever had a chance as long as those people are running things (and at the pace PD was doing DLC). The Deltawing on the other hand, still has a chance After launch, just depends on the outcome.
Did Jordan report back yet?
If there was a GTR in the list, people would pick the delta, but GTRs probably don't have any licensing fee.![]()
It was passed on to me by a sportscar racing insider. I'm not sure of the veracity, so I've only ever mentioned it with a disclaimer attached. However, I'm not sure where this 1 mil is popping up from, as I haven't found an article with a number or a license. I read on this thread that famine said so, but I don't see the said so part...
