I just received my G27 Tilton pedals.
I had some minor difficulties installing them.
Most likely due to tight tolerances.
Had to purchase longer bolts also.
Now that I have them installed, it's taking a bit to get used to them.
I have Mixim springs coming, so I don't want to change anything just yet.
Now on the button boxes: Where do the rotary controls come into play?

Not sure how others use them but I have used them for Brake Bias, FOV, Increase/Decrease Value on settings ...ARB, Fuel etc.

I change my labels/graphics when I feel I have a better use for the button or if I focus on a particular sim that would benefit from a different arrangement. Note: This is not a custom box, I simply swapped out a few of the buttons as I like color for reference. The older you get ....:)

Hi Derek,

Any news on Tilton Style Pedal Pads for T500 Pedals ?

Thanks..!

I have the CAD data for the part, but I have not committed it yet to tooling. The original pad is curved, and the pads I make have a flat back. I'm still considering some things.

It may be necessary to enlarge the holes a bit and use fasteners with small washers to attach the pads.

Use rotary encoders anywhere you'd want to use a function which is dual in nature; e.g. brake bias, ARB +/-, sound volume +/-, etc.

I like those labels! I can see where the FVS went ;)

Thanks, just ordered one.

And it just shipped off to you - thank you :) :gtpflag:

And it may not be the last BB I buy from you either, particularly since you keep making cool new designs. :) What happens if you make one that just makes my whole rig prettier? lol

I'm certain simply your presence in it does that without issue ;)

You did a great job on the graphics on your BB. I too change the buttons to different usages, when I find a better or easier use for them. How the heck did you get the graphics so straight?

Hey stranger :), All on one strip, only way for me to do it. When I make individual labels for each button it ends up crooked and somewhat disorderly. Although most probably wouldn't care.

So I tinkered with it in Photoshop until I had the individual, button to button spacing correct (just for this button box) and made a 'template'. Now I just open the template, change the word/icon/box color and re-print. (BTW, I use photo paper.)

Since I use rubber cement for adhesion, you can move the label into position, wait for any ooze out to dry and it will roll off easily. Same thing goes for removal. It peels right up and you rub the residue off easily. No damage or anything left behind. Trust me, have done it countless times. haha

It was worth it ...considering how many times I change my mind.

Cool, You did a fantastic job. I purchased one of those "Brother" label printers and sort of did the same thing as far as the spacing goes. The only problem really is the tape itself. My two top rows are white lettering with a Black background. I like that but the other tapes are Black BG with Gold lettering <sigh> I wanted Black BG with Red lettering, I can get it from their website.

Have you been doing any iRacing? I remember you were racing the Sim Bin series I think? Reason I asked because Johnny, Jack, Tom and a few others from ISR were practicing on Sundays. Just racing all the free content basically. The MX-5 on some good tracks, Johnny is an A license and one of the better racers their so it was good experience, he gives out a lot of good advice. This is really good practice in a real relaxed atmosphere. You probably seen the threads over there, you should join them. :) I made it to one practice and it was a blast for the most part. There was this one guy who was drinking beer all afternoon and his driving skills were not all that good. :D

Thanks for the invite Darren.
I finally got started when the guys over at CMS invited me to join their fun series. They were racing rfactor 2 and I for one, can not get enough of it. The feedback on the T500 is what I would call "usable", meaning I understand what's going on with the car. Having that sensation and feeling just makes me a better driver I think. I'm still plenty green but it's a great atmosphere to learn in.
I'd give iracing a spin if I didn't already feel like I had more to learn than I have time.

The rig is nice, but I can see why people just start from scratch and build their own. You just keep getting ideas and realizing what works better. But it certainly works ...just got to stop looking at pictures. haha

Love what you've done with the labels lopsided. Like Darren , I have used the Brother label maker but I have done them all seperate..... and all crooked ! I think I'll have to start from scratch after seeing yours :D

Thanks for the inspiration and also the tip about the rubber cement.

Just a little update on the pedals.
I've been driving using soft sole shoes in the past.
With the Tilton pedals I was having some minor issues.
So last night I put my hard ortho inserts into those shoes, and like magic
problems solved. I'm really starting to get us to them. 👍
Now I've got to work on making pretty lables

I purchased a set of DSD Tilton Pedal Pads. These things are great. I love the feel underfoot. Never liked the pedal pads that came with my CSP, and tried all sorts of home made "mods" to get a good feel (non really worked).

Derek's pads were the perfect upgrade in my opinion. I will be making future purchases fo sure 👍.

I love me some pedal pads! Thanks for your post, Publicsafety! :gtpflag:

Open wallet, send to Derek :)
Super fast delivery of my Button Box.
I've installed the Nixim G27 springs, and they really show the improvement
Derek's pedals make. Button box, really help getting things sorted on the grid.
Sequential shifter is down the road, once I get my rig finished.👍

Derek, is there any issue with mounting the Bent rod shifter on my left side and having it bent in towards me - unscrewing and turning the plate the other way round so DSD is facing the right way ? And also both left side and right side screw holes can be used for mounting ?

Thanks..

Just ordered a shifter ;)

Thank you much! It's packed and ships out in about 20 minutes :gtpflag:
