Thank you :)

It's shipping Monday (or maybe today if possible) :gtpflag:

Derek, will the Seq Shifter work off a USB hub (non-powered) or will it require a direct connection to the PC ?

Just so I know whether to purchase an extension as my PC sits in a rack away from the rig.

Thanks, Fred

The device is USB - I recommend to connect it directly to the computer. Fortunately extensions are quite inexpensive.

:)

I'm wanting to get one of your boxes but I'm not sure which one. I can't really figure out what you would use the toggle switches or the rotary decoders for. I know this sounds stupid but could you give me an example when someone would use them in iracing?

I have this thread on iRacing which has a number of customer examples and is my support thread there:

Any function dual in nature is a candidate for designation to an encoder. Volume inc/dec, FOV +/-, ARB +/-, Brake Bias, Pit stop functions, etc. are all types many use on their devices.

Just wanted everyone to know that after many hours of staring at Derek's button boxes on his website, I finally ordered a Black Max II this afternoon. Luckily I live in the same state as Derek, so the torturous waiting game won't last very long.

Thank you, kindly MaXKiLLz! :gtpflag:

Your order has shipped off today. I am going to guess that it should land at your door Saturday :)

Test my new site - AND WIN a DSD Velocity - DSDFTW!

Hi folks,

I am putting the final touches on my new site and want to do some initial load tests on it. It's about 80% complete, but there are things I want to sort out before I make it live and migrate my domain. You can preview my site on this temporary link below:

http://www.derekspeare.com

I've provided a link on the site to enter the contest for a DSD Velocity Controller. It's not hard to find - I hope no one minds that they have to "find" it :D :D

Here's the prize:

The details of the contest are found on the prize page. By now many of you know how to do it ;) I even left a hint here ;) The winner's name will be announced on the 11th at 6pm EST US. GLA!

I plan to take the site live before the end of the month - if the Racing Fates allow it :)

Cheers and thank you for the privilege of serving the sim racing community!

Count me in, entry sent :D

The new site is looking really good, love them pedals!

I have a question Derek. On the Track Boss, it says 22 push buttons. I only count 19. What am I missing here? I have been enjoying mine and could not imagine not having one. But if there are 3 more buttons I don't know about, I want to find them.:)

Vince

p.s. Nice new look.

I'll blame that typo on the "Internet Gremlins". That will be corrected in the next update.

Thank you :)

I just watched the review on the Velocity button box by Inside Sim Racing . I was under the impression that they were smaller , I don't know why. But seeing them in the video , I have to say I was surprised...... and suddenly found them more desirable !. I always thought they looked great but had the impression they were much smaller.

Anyway , great review as usual by isr. Was interesting to see what functions Darin and Shaun used with rotary encoders.

Just received my DSD sequential shifter.
Very solid built and a nice quality, just the knob has to go ;)
So tonight fabricating a bracket.
Thx Derek

Thanks for the report - the knob I use on my shifter is used by most who have it. It's a highly polished phenolic knob with a threaded brass insert. It's essentially indestructible. However, there are some who want to use an aftermarket knob that may be much higher end like a Momo, etc. I indicate the thread spcs on my site and the threading is 1/2" - 13TPI. It's the standard threading for that size.

@ Spinner - thank you :gtpflag:

Thanks Derek, I have already a Sparco Knob that's planned for the shifter.
Wasn't meant to be a rant about the knob.
The quality and the feel are awesome, just to match my desing I'll change it ;)

I'd certainly like to offer a high end knob on my shifters but then the price would be :yuck: :yuck:

:)

Here is my DSD Sequential Shifter installed into my HyperStimulator setup. I mounted it under the seat, cut a slot, and drilled 4 holes so I could mount Derek's cover plate on the seat itself. The whole thing is bolted through the side of the chassis so it doesnt budge.

Excellent! Thank you for posting your photos, jesiotrot :) I know it's a bit of effort to mount my shifter into a Hyper, but it's worth it - your setup looks great :gtpflag:

My 2 cents..

Well you read a lot of posts about how good something is and you think, well they are just fan boys etc. etc... Well, once upon a time all I used was paddles for shifting, actually that's all I've ever used since my first Logitech Driving Force Pro back in the day with my PS2 then through to a Fana GT2 and the T500 it was all paddles - well that's all changed since fitting my DSD Sequential Shifter.

Except for my F1 racing I am using this for all other cars and has to be my favourite addition to the rig. And to think I was umming an arring about it for months. I have so much more fun and my driving has improved as I'm timing my shifts (auto-clutch) so much better for coming into corners.

Thank you Derek - great product design, quality & service ..!

Looks great, Spike! Thank you :)

@readyfe - Thank you as well :) I consider my shifter to be the best one made for our fun of sim racing. I'm pretty humble about it, though, as I spent months on the initial design work and couldn't conceive a mechanism I liked which was efficient and quick to manufacture. Then it just popped into my head - about 6 months of contemplating - and then the device was born. That was about a thousand shifters ago and I am very happy to send them onto their final homes.

Just want to say a huge thanks to Derek for making this happen.

Customer service above and beyond the call, wow! 👍 👍

CSP V.1s and CSP V.2s installed on their new pedal deck....

...with new DSD Tilton-style pedals and matching dead pedal to boot...

Love these pedals, got some right after I saw them on ISR last year.

The new design really makes them stand out now.

The black on black is quite striking, don't you think?

Tweaked the mount for the DSD Tilton Dead Pedal, now same angle, height, and spacing as the others!

I'm tempted to buy one of your sequential shifters that I have heard is really good quality and worth the money... but first I need some money

Also I think a handbreake (ebrake) would be a great idea. As a member of the racing and drifting community I think it would come in handy and sell well, especially to drifters and as Cliffo said rallying
