My shifter arrived yesterday! at first I thought the thing was broken as it was so much stiffer then the g27 rubber band modded shifter! Great job Derek! Amazing feel, the only thing that's kind of annoying is that when the shifter retracts it makes a metal clinging sound.

Worth every penny!

It's a solid device and will have a bit of ring to it because of the spring. However, I don't think you'll hear it much when the crowd is cheering you each time you land in the winner's circle:gtpflag:

Ordered the Bent Rod GT pro-shifter,can't wait to receive it!

Confirmation sent and I will ship it very soon - thank you!

I'm such an idiot, I broke the connector off the bottom of the shifter! :( 3 of the 4 pins on the bottom of it are off, waited 2 weeks for this and just about when I was going to use it for the first time, it broke. :grumpy:

How did you break it and why?

It was an accident, the shifter is right infront of my seat, and when I adjusted it pushed on the connector and put it on an angle, I removed the shifter and the connector came off. FML :ouch:

Maybe a local electronics repair shop would be able to fix it

Hi - I'm starting my day and picking up emails. I'm felling badly for Zedfonzie :( I'll replace the damaged part with a new one, but It will require a return trip to me for that. It may be possible to carefully reassemble the USB plug, but I don't recommend it out of caution.

I've responded via PM and am confident we'll have the shifter back in service in no time.

has anyone had any issues with the checkout process on Derek's website?

I just went to order a button box, went to checkout, logged in my details and before I checked out I wanted to calculate the shipping so clicked outside the US and bam it told me thank you for your payment! I've no idea what shipping, I didn't get to select credit card rather than instant bank or review the payment! :(

Not sure whether its a website glitch or a paypal one. Does anyone know the intnl shipping time/options for boxes?

Hello - payments are processed through paypal and my site will redirect to the paypal payment system. Shipping is free for all components but shifters and button boxes. My FAQ lists the US shipping fee at 10.95 USD and all international locations as 17.95 USD.

My customers have made thousands of orders using the paypal payment system via my site, and none have reported any issues or troubles with orders they haven't made but were made anyhow. Sometimes the paypal screen may take a few moments refresh as their security is very high.

I have no record of an order coming through at around the time of this post. I've communicated with paypay and no order exists around that time. Paypal assures me that there is no way for an order to be executed inadvertantly. For matters like this is best to first consult the FAQ on my site:

Thank you.

Ok, so I received a very cool little gizmo today, one made by one of my iRacing friends, Mat Menzies. Mat makes this great whizbang which is something sure to please any iRacing fan:

Here's a sample video they link to their site:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkxdCBcnQmA

It's about 38 bucks USD, and it took about 17 days from when I placed the order to receipt in good shape. Mat includes a CD of drivers, but I pulled mine from his site. Installation is simple. There's a readme in the driver package, and just do what it says. It's cute and useful device, and anyone would be served well by ordering up one from Mat's site.

I recommend it, use it personally and it's a simple device sure to please anyone who wants more immersion and realism to their sim racing fun. Great job, Mat! I know you'll have many orders

Order it up here:

Cheers,

PS - this is for iRacing. I can't confirm if he has other plans for the various titles out there.

Hi Derek,

Thanks for the reply. As I said it's no major issue. My wife Kelli wanted to buy me the button box as a present I chose it and she was doing the paypal part. We've received an email from you with a shipping date etc so I'm not sure why you're unable to trace the order?

I'm certain it was a little paypal glitch and the only inconvenience to us was that my wife wanted to select credit card but upon clicking calculate postage she was met with a completed payment screen.

Anyhow, I look forward to receiving my button box and kudos on all your great products and well deserved success. 👍

Shame it doesn't work with rFactor!

Has anyone mounted the sequential shifter to a Playseat Revolution? I already have the TH8 mounted on the G27 shifter adapter for the Playseat for H-pattern.

I just can't see a way to mount Derek's sequential shifter as a another add-on to the seat.

Any ideas are appreciated.

You need to make a metal plate and drill it to fit both the G27 shifter holes and for mine. Then bend it to 90 degrees, sandwich the now flange in between the shifter and the mount and then mount my shifter to the other tab. I have drilling templates and so forth some posts back in this thread.

Aftermarket wheels with a 70mm mounting pattern are perfectly abundant. See any auto racing supply company and they will have them.

Derek .

Have you any plans to make a button box for ipad/touch screen devices in the pipeworks?

I cant seem to find anything out there .

Thanks

@Rafa - thank you much for the photos of your Shifter installation - looking good!!!

@Carson - Great wheel - I'm hoping to develop a solution for the T500 wheel which allows us to recover the lost buttons when going to an aftermarket wheel. I love buttons!

@Blown540ci - I won't offer any button controller programs. It's my philosophy that touch screens offer no tactile feedback and do not allow for an intuitive rellationship between the user for sim racing purposes.

You don't have to look at a Track Boss to find the buttons. You do for a touch screen. That's enough to say it's against my idea of wanting to offer components which make sim racing more immersive. Anytime one needs to divert their attention from the racing can cause troubles :(

There are emerging technologies which I am watching, but those are years out. I see a touch screen device as a logical leap, but there are some things needed before it's really something which will replace a button box.

I think if you put iracing in search at the apps store youll find what your looking for.

Results for me
1) ihud
2)iracedash (which i own)

And that's it . Do you know of any others .?

@ Dreek

I completely understand , and you are right of course about the tactile feel . But for me personally i would still have to look for the buttons / and take one hand of the wheel to press it , so its all the same to me .
Thanks for your reply.

Ultimately, each man knows his own needs the best. A touchscreen button box is not far away. There's a technology I'm waiting to see mature before I commit to such a program :)

Well I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with in regards the lost button controls. And it will most likely be an immediate purchase for me Derek
