Results for me
1) ihud
2)iracedash (which i own)

And that's it . Do you know of any others .?

@ Dreek

I completely understand , and you are right of course about the tactile feel . But for me personally i would still have to look for the buttons / and take one hand of the wheel to press it , so its all the same to me .
Thanks for your reply.

Without taking this thread completely OT, you'd want something like Touchbuddy to make a touchscreen button box and all it does is emulate key presses (of course) but it's so easy to press the wrong thing..as Derek says, no tactile. So no touchy feely means hit n miss :)

I've tested Ipad and 21" Touchscreen but indeed it is nicer to use a quality button box.
The screens look cool but you cannot beat the interaction a good box gives.

Thanks for the tip Steve , I will look into that .

If I can come up with a decent mounting support bracket for a button box I will , but I've been too busy with work to try and get something fabricated. I have a VR3 so it needs to have a nice Chrome finnish , and has to look right.
If I can get this done button box for sure.

I recommend the Ram Mount. If one isn't enough, then two may be better. I use one personally and so do many of my customers. Below is a template I include with all box orders which outline some popular Ram Mounts.

Sorry kind of off topic going back to a touch screen button box idea, even though i don't own anything with a touchscreen. Imagine buttons that could be stuck onto a touch screen for tactile feel just an idea.

edit: I have a question can i use this with your adapter to fit a grip royal, nardi, and or personal wheel to my T500RS?

Edit: So the problem is to have any wheel on straight with your adapter it needs to have a momo style pattern like this.

But the wheels i am looking into have bolt patterns like this.

My t500 adapter is for wheels with 70mm patterns. I don't recommend adapters onto adapters. I will recommend any OMP, Sparco or Momo wheel without hesitation. :)

Well thanks for the response but i cant see myself spending 250 dollars or more on a wheel plus the adapter it adds up to 300 i could get a g27 for that. So i am good with an aftermarket wheel i guess, i wish i had more options to choose from when trying to buy a wheel for my t500 i am surprised nobody else feels the same way.

edit: You could make an adapter without stars and have every bolt pattern available on the market that would be cool just an idea, I am sorry for the whining but i am sure you can relate with me here.

Maybe you could request a wheel adapter only drilled for the wheel base and then drill the other holes yourself for the rim you choose. Dont know if its an option but worth a try maybe.

I just took a careful look at your adapter page and both you other adapters are universal, why did you make the t500 adapter to only work with a few rim company's?

Facepalm. OMP, Momo and Sparco are the big companies that use the 70mm pattern. Since those are the most popular aftermarket wheels (plus all the cheapo knockoffs that use the same pattern), it's reasonable that the guy offered an adapter suited to that. I don't see any reason that the 70mm>Nardi adapter that you posted wouldn't work. As long as you keep all the bolts tight and use thread locking glue, you'll have no problems.

70mm is the overwhelming majority. I don't, however, recommend adapters mated to my adapters. :)

Thinking outside the box - and you can win it!

Hi friends,

These photos represent my original thought and design concepts for what a "button box" can be when all boundaries are removed from the equation.

I rather like calling it an "Input Interface". I'll give it away in a drawing, and the details of which will follow on at another time. I hope you like this one. I think it's something never to have been done before. I consider it to manifest the reasons why DSD is what it is.

Cheers,

d

That thing is so awesome!!! Wow!

Well Derek you can now put me on your list as a future customer that thing is awsome looking. Wasnt going to get a button box never seen the need for one, but Ill make one up now. :)

Thank you, Jav :)

@ fatrakr - I'm thinking it will make a nice complement to any sim racing space ;)

I'm putting it into production in the next 30 to 45 days and it will go for 80 - 90 USD :) I will most likely offer one with encoders across the top row as well as the buttons (encoders will be a bit more).

I have been using one of Derek's Pro Sequential shifters for 4 or 5 months now and it is awesome. It adds so much to the immersion factor, worth every penny. I also use his "Track Boss" button box and it also adds to the immersion factor, these items make my rig look like a race car. :)

I check your site constantly, and after seeing this it's made my mind up.. However I will wait for the model with the encoders.

You have a new client in waiting, unless of course I win your DSDFTW... PLEASE?

:) I'll be offering both types as soon as I have them ready for production. I have some other very interesting variations in store for this one too ;)

Here's an update for everyone who has a button box to ship on the 24th of this month. I'm happy to say that all boxes promised to ship on the 24th will ship tomorrow. They are all tested and just need to be packaged.

Please check your paypal emails of record for your tracking information, and also allow for 10 to 15 working days at minimum for international shipping.

Thank you!

I got my pro sequential yesterday! Just made a new mount and it's ready to use! The pro sequential has amazing feel, the great thing about having this heavy spring is that it makes it much harder to shift down too fast. This is definitely worth the money. 👍
