That said, I'm putting a stop to my barb work until they work out act 2-4 difficulty for melee. Likewise I'm leveling both a wizard and demon hunter... If you can't beat them, join them.

Have fun dying, literally, in 1 shot from anything as a DH. More or less the same for Wizards.

Like I said, I've built ~850 or more all res (after prismatic armor) on my Wizard, base is around 600. It helps quite a bit.

What are the resistances on your barb anyhow?

Btw, went over that blue post again and still feel like some of that stuff is just plain stupid.
Reducing damage from NPCs will encourage survive-ability how again?

People were dying and letting Tyreal kill champion packs for them in Act 3 to farm. Pretty this is heavily targeted at that.

You've also got to keep in mind Blizzard intended it to take weeks or months to farm gear to handle Inferno.

As for the damage output when players join games, that was hot fixed a few days ago.

The problem with them nerfing Tyrael is that it made a great portion of the end of the game far more difficult, after them admitting that the game was too difficult they put in a fix that made it even more so.

The popular farm was to do the siegebreaker with 5 stacks, the instant they nerfed Tyrael the gear level required to do that instantly increased, as you now had to make up for the damage loss of Tyrael, quite nasty as a barbarion tank. Though it is difficult I swapped out my superstition (survival non physical 20%) for berserker rage (25% damage at max fury) and did manage to do it solo last night.

I've also now finished the game, beat Diablo tonight playing with a Wizard friend of mine. Personally I thought Rakanoth was the most difficult boss in the game as a solo Barbarion.

Though I've finished the game I still cant realistically kill elites in act 4 with my current gear. I look forward to the nerfs to be honest, but I'm glad I beat the game before they came.

I just sold my first RMAH item.

A whoopin' $0.42 have been transferred to my Paypal account.

You guys keep your day job, I'm gonna be rich selling virtual gloves and axes and stuff.

A little over 600 all resist with shout up, cleared act 2 without too much trouble solo and still haven't killed belial solo (nor can I do act 3), but did manage to put down damage and survive belial in a co-op run.

I've also followed through with the DH and currently have a level 53 working its way through act 1 hell. Fun to play but very face-roll, once I'm at the inferno level I anticipate needing to re-learn the DH.

I'm up to $9.89 overall from all my sales. Anyone else selling stuff on the RMAH? I might sell enough stuff and then buy a button box or something and pay the difference. :)

Worked on getting a resist set, and can finally get through Inferno Act I and II without dying a lot. In fact almost never when in a group. With a Barbarian in the group, I have over 900 in all resists. I don't do enough damage to be able to handle Act III though.

Nice to finally be out of normal mode, which is a total joke. I just finished Act 1 on Nightmare and I was having a lot more fun than on normal. On normal, the only deaths and near deaths happened before blizzard patched the game for macs, after they patched the game from <10 fps to 25~ fps, I never had trouble, normal mode is basically just an investment of time, no challenge whatsoever.

Nightmare is providing a higher challenge. While certainly not really hard, it is much more challenging than normal, and when fighting rare mob packs, I do actually have to be careful and think a little, and there is a threat of dying, unlike in normal where I could just spam Cleave forever.

I feel like I'm actually playing a game rather than just being along for the ride. Looking forward to Hell, and Inferno if I can handle it :P

Currently at Act 3 Inferno Ghom on my Wizzie and Act 1 Inferno on my Monk. Fun times both of those clases!

Next I'll level my Barb. :)

Has everyone given up on this game or something? No activity in here anymore. I finally made it to Act II inferno and hit a wall (of death). I need better gear clearly.

Yup, I've given up on it entirely. The random stats on items are so annoying that, quite frankly, the item grind is more bothersome to me than it is fun. If I want to work, I'll do it somewhere else.

I beat the game on inferno just over a month ago and then started playing less, a lot of my friends had had their fill of the game and I felt like there was nothing much left for me to do. Essencially all you can do is farm gear by playing the same content over and over, if you get lucky then you win and if you dont you just keep on banging your head. Some players had thoughts that blizzard was throttling the gear drops based on RMAH inflation in order to control the economy, whether or not it was true I have no idea nor don't really care.

The game was fun but for me does not leave any real reason to play it once you have completed the content on inferno. They really needed something extra to do, not having pvp was a big mistake, making the game so short on content was a mistake, not having anything aside from the storyline to do was a mistake, making the gear so homogenised and based around being pure stat sticks was a mistake, and a load of other choices with the game were mistakes.

The real money auction house dictated a lot of the design of this game and it spoiled it in many ways for a lot of people. On top of that they did not provide a big enough and well designed enough game to support the RMAH system in the long run. In this age of massive games with constant content updates and great multiplayer functions and features, Diablo 3 is too small and too restrictive and lacking in what it offers, it's no surprise that people simply got bored and moved on.

Great game, worth the money for sure, but it isn't anywhere near what it needed to be to meet the longterm expectations both the fans and the developers wanted.

Well said, Bigbazz, well said. I think you've nailed everything what's wrong with the game in my opinion. Dunno what game to turn to next, though.

I've got high hopes for TES Online, but...

I get where you guys are coming from. It's true, but this is, after all, a Diablo game. It's not like it's an MMORPG or WoW.

I enjoyed Diablo 2 thoroughly but if you think about it, there wasn't really that much to do once you beat it in hell. Cow runs, Mephisto MF runs, Baal runs. It depends on the player whether or not it gets old quickly or not.

Beat Diablo on inferno last weekend. Been farming gold ever since...

Ubers and the way the end game gear worked was a lot more rewarding I feel.

I kind of just got bored of D3 and don't really have any interest in playing right now. Level 41 with an HC character but that isn't even holding my attention now.

That I agree with 100%.

When I reminisce about my high school days and D2 I get nostalgic and can think of many reasons why D2 was better than D3, but even then, I can't say I don't enjoy D3. D2 was better, yes, but D3 is a good game too in my eyes. Many hate the AH and RMAH, but if you remember, D2's economy was awful. Gold was pretty much worthless and the only way you could trade for good items was with SOJs, which were very difficult to find for the average, casual player. Hell, I farmed Mephisto a lot and I only ever got one.

The only advice I can give to people sick of the game is to try and play with friends. I know it isn't always possible but playing with a friend while on a voice chat server, working together and communicating makes the experience incredibly more rewarding and fun.

Having said that I agree, the motivation to play once you beat inferno is difficult to find.

Finally defeated inferno.... took a loooooong friggin time, but I made it.

I've thought about doing that (still sitting in A4) but I can't be bothered to stay that interested. I'm sure I could just drop a few million gold (have 16mil) and gear up and clear it out, but meh. Though they've made farming a lot easier, which also means items don't sell for crap generally either.

Diablo 3 has, basically, pushed me back to playing StarCraft and LoL.

Ohhhh man, I cannot tell you how much I love this game.

A group of friends and I beat Diablo on Inferno the day before patch 1.0.2 or 1.0.3 (the one before damage nerf... and many others). One of the hardest things I've ever done.

That aside, I have found multiple items which sold for real money. I found a set item for for demon hunters (boots) that sold for £40! Then after patch 1.0.4 I found a set item for Witch Doctors (also boots) that sold for £15. I have sold numerous plans and a few good rare items for about £30 in total. So already I have earned at least triple the value of the game already.

I focus on playing Barbarian now. By far the most fun class IMO. Especially after starting to use a whirlwind build to farm Act 3 Inferno now because she (yes female Barb ) is strong enough. And also I saved up enough for Fire Walkers so she leaves a flame behind wherever she walks. :D

Here is a few screenshots of the stats screen and what she looks like. Stats shown are without any buffs applied. :P

Edit: By the way... if anyone just wants Diablo beat just invite me to a game and I should be able to do it for you. :P

Strange looking stats GT. Your damage is through the roof, but armor is very low, resists are low as well. I don't know how you have that much damage, but it is very impressive.

At the moment I'm just farming Act I inferno until I can get some better gear. I pretty much want to do one final round of purchasing for everything (weapon, armor etc). I don't have anything that I think is the last of that particular item that I'll ever buy.

Strange stats indeed... how do you manage to have such a high LD?

I would love a link straight from your character profile.

I don't really need huge amounts of resistance, but for Whirlwind build you would benefit from it. War Cry gives me a 50% boost for all resistances and extra towards the armour which covers it anyways, which isn't shown in the screenshot (would be 1000-1100 resist to all and just under 6k armour).

Here is my profile link:

And here is a video of me beating Diablo with that Whirlwind spec. It's pretty crazy:

The gear you were wearing on the screenshot is considerably different than what you're wearing in your profile, so I couldn't really check what I wanted. :P

Anyways, very nice dps. 👍

I think due to all the nerfs that went in making the game easier, the old survival revenge spam style barbarion is a thing of the past. My barbarion is still that old spec, but after the first nerf patch I started to move more towards damage as you just didnt need the same survival anymore to stay alive.

Anyway I havent played the game properly in months, I had a go for about 20 mins after the new patch was released with all the new gear and found that 2handed weapons dropping were a lot more powerful now. Most players these days seem to be stacking crit/life on hit and speccing for that whirlwind/sprint.

I tried it quickly and though it does a lot of damage I don't have the gear to sustain it.

I have to say your stats are an interesting contrast to my own, since I'm a Wizard :P

I loved the Wizard, it's the first character I used. I got bored of it after a while though after I discovered the Demon Hunter and especially the Barbarian. The Barb is most fun to me, which made me stop playing the other classes.

I've gained another 10k ish DPS over the last time I've posted. It's safe to say I am pretty overpowered now without starting on the Immortal set.

Good thing I'm starting work soon so I'll end up playing the game less.

That's my magic find armor set (which is primarily what I'm using these days farming Act I inferno). Help me figure out what to buy next or what to change about it. I'm saving up for big upgrades at each spot, but I'm a little unsure of what's important. At the moment I have no critical hit improvements of any kind.

I have a more aggressive set of armor (same weapons) that I used to finish inferno. More resists, more armor, no magic or gold find, no critical hit.

My wizzie.

I have so much health and DPS that I don't really need Force Armor or resistances and I don't die very often since I can move very effectively, save for extremely tough (For Wizards) mobs, like Fast affix mobs of mobs that are already fast to begin with, Phaseless beasts and elite mobs that spawn too close too a doorway (so there is no space to kite). Furthermore, the latest patch has made it much more easier to survive since they have made the game so easy.

So what's the story with critical hit damage and critical hit chance. You obviously sacrifice on other things to make that happen... how much is it really worth? Does it drastically change things?

If you combine gear with critical hit damage + critical hit chance % you effectively multiply your damage by a massive ammount, its easier to raise your damage like this than it is to just stack raw stats, and those 2 stats scale with themselves meaning the more you have of one, the more powerful the other becomes.

At first it may seem like a small loss compared to stacking your main stat, but a few pieces later you will find your damage is making massive jumps. There are people running around who have done this well, sitting on 200,000 damage. You want a weapon/weapons with a socket (to put a green + crit damage gem in) + preferably crit damage already on it. That is where you will get the biggest chunk of + crit damage.
