Played a bit more here and there with a mate, got up to Paragon lvl12, tried out some of those new uber Infernal Machine events and been enjoying it. This is my progress so far!

I'd like to pick up Diablo III still, but Blizzard has to be mad if they think I'm going to pay $50 for a game that came out last May.

Blizzard never drop the price of their games, just as games like Call of Duty never drop in price on the PC. I wouldnt get any hopes up about the price of the game dropping before an expansion pack is released, which likely won't happen until 2014 at the earliest.

Though that said, the game has changed a lot since last may and a lot of updates are being currently added. One other thing about Blizzard games is that they always continue to support, update and improve them, I think Diablo 2 recieved a patch last year, it's still being supported online and is still relatively popular, and is still £9.99 to buy on their store.

Expansion coming in 2014. Looks solid.

But as we see in the opening cinematic, Malthael steals it, nearly killing Tyrael in the process. As such, Malthael has the Prime Evil's soul in his grip.

Looks awesome, I'm really looking forward to playing this. Surprised they announced it before Blizzcon though, could this mean a 2013 or early 2014 release?

360 version

I rented this a few days ago and so far this is the closest game I have played on the 360 that resembles Gauntlet Dark Legacy. GDL is one of my favorite hack and slash games of all time.

I started with the Demon Hunter and made it to level 20 after getting to the 2nd act. I liked that character a lot. BUT last night I started a new game with a friend and I am using the Wizard. Just wow. I love this character. I am level 9 and the freezing abilities are just awesome! My favorite character in Diablo 3 for sure so far. I only rented this but I am thinking about buying it after the rental expires on Thursday.

Aye I had a go of the console version (PS3) a week or so back, had a night playing it with a mate, some beers and a pizza just playing co-op. It's a completely different vibe to playing on the PC, we had a blast though.

Got to act 2, started out on hard difficulty but bumped it down to medium after we beat the skeleton king, as we we're just getting slaughtered by that point, in need of better gear. I'm probably not gonna buy the console version though, played the hell out of the PC version (300 hours on my barbarion) and most of the novelty on the console wears off pretty fast. Definitely looking forward to the expansion pack though!

Me too, this is going to be long Xmas nights with Diablo :)

I play it for Xbox. Meh, didn't liked it so much, but for the first time I played I don't know why it reminded me of those old 3rd person games. It's good to pass time I guess.

They're shutting down the AH... I'm in shock. I can't believe that they're doing this, not because I think it's a bad move, I think it's going to be good for the game, but because how big of a decision it is. I don't even play the game anymore, but still kinda shocking in my opinion. I followed this game so closely for so long and I honestly can say that I never expected them to do this.

Just picked this up yesterday and spent an hour playing it this morning. I played Diablo 1 & 2 on pc and this feels pretty good. Picked the witch doctor and got up to level 5. Everything that's being dropped is for the monk/barbarian though. I think tonight I'll see if I can join a party. Having some good fun with the dogs/spider combo on normal. I think I'll use the wizard for hardcore though

I was shocked as well when I get the email notification about it.

Stopped playing D3 a while ago, but would probably start another character when they stop auction house.

360 version

I fell in love with the game and bought it for myself and my brother. I now have at least 6 different characters. This game truly reminds me of Gauntlet Dark Legacy for the PS2 and xbox. So glad this came to the 360!!! 👍

I bought it after playing thru the free demo.
I've been looking for a replacement since Baldur's Gate on ps2.

I've started using the PS3 for games again!

The very thing I like is that it's third person.
First person games like Call of Duty shake so much that they make me physically ill.
I can play the Ace Combat games but most true FPS games short circuit my equilibrium...to the point I want to barf.

360 version

I am still hooked on this game. Played through the 4 player co-op campaign at least 6+ times. Currently on Inferno difficulty with Master 2 setting and whoa it is tough. We beat the Butcher last night and started level 2. Getting very hard.

My level 60 Wizard hit paragon level 5 last night. I have focused most of my armor and settings for this character toward magic find. Currently she has over 433% magic item find. That means I find legendary items sometimes 2-3 an hour. Its even higher when we have a full room of 4 players. :)

That magic find hahaha.

I just picked this up two weeks ago, and ever since that day my friend had my HDD, so I couldnt play anything. I just bought a usb flash drive on friday and played it the whole weekend and managed level 38 and just started Nightmare last night.

Played as the Demon hunter, and I use his Rapid Fire and the sentry more then anything. Only tried the Mage and Demon Hunter, and I cant find out which I like more. I'm using my demon hunter just to power through the story mode for the achievements. I think I'm going to start a Witch Doctor hero soon.

@ImaRobot I have tried all the characters and the wizard is still my favorite. The best part about the Wizard is the ability to INSTANTLY freeze ALL enemies at one time. So if you have 30 enemies around you they will ALL be frozen solid. Then if you top that off with the passive skill to add more damage to frozen targets, you have some serious croud control. It even freezes main enemies including Diablo. That is by far one of the most helpful powers in the game IMO. Especially on the harder difficulties.

The Demon hunter was my first character and I like it a lot too. After you reach a certain level can have up to 3 turrets on the screen at once!!!

The most insane character by far is the witch doctor. Some of the powers are so dang innovative. That is my 2nd favorite character. Some serious variety and innovation with the witch doctor.

@CAMAROBOY69 The mage was my first character I used over at my friends house (the one I left my HDD at.) We had a good setup going on. My friend as the monk had this one ability that pulls all enemy's to the center, I would then Freeze everyone and my other friend, that was a barb, would do crowd control. Little combo's like that made it so fun.

Recently moved though so I'm waiting on internet before I can co-op again :(

One of my friends I play the most with is a Monk so I know exactly what you are talking about. ;)
My friend also has a passive skill on his Monk that gives team mates an insane amount of health regeneration. Really helps a lot.

Up to 38 on my Demon Hunter but in 'normal' I tried not to use rapid fire unless in a bind, seemed way too powerful.

All I've been playing is D3 and GT6 lately.

Havnt used my Demon Hunter since Level 39. I now use my Wizard @ level 53. Been working on getting my Blacksmith to level 10, and in hell mode its rather easy as Tomes just drop left and right. I'm staying on the basic difficulties until I reach level 60.

I was sticking to a wand with source, but recently found a Legendary Autumns Call staff, that is level 51 I think, that tops both my wand and my source's stats combined and then some.

Also found some Firewalkers, which I think has been my coolest legendary yet. Leaves trails of fire where you walk. Makes it very easy to rack up destruction exp as all you have to do is run through stuff.

Barely cracked 10k DPS(sitting at 11k) last night with that staff, and for some reason I think thats low :( but I would have no idea really.

In the current game as it is 11k is pretty low yeah, you want to be aiming for more like 100k. With that said 11k is enough to beat the game on inferno, and with a couple of high quality pieces it will soon skyrocket up.

Im just barely starting to get some nice use-able legendary items. Im Currently on hell mode, and was going to wait till level 60 to move up to the master levels. Do you think I should just move up now?

My autumn call staff is the strongest thing Ive seen dropped so far so I'm not exactly sure how I'd get to 100k already haha.

Ahh you're playing on console? I'm not sure if my knowledge from the PC game is interchangeable with the console version. On the PC version you have 4 basic difficulty levels (normal, nightmare, hell and inferno) and then you have monster levels on top of that as an additional difficulty (from 1-10... monster level off would be 0), on level 10 the monsters have multiple times more health and hit harder, to the point where even a character who could breeze through the basic monster level 0 might not be able to even kill a single monster before dying.

I'm not so familiar with how the console version works though I do believe the PC will be moving to that system with the new expansion.

On console we have Normal - Inferno, as well as easy-hard and then Master 1-5, which multiply MF, GF, and something else that escapes me right now. from what I hear Master 5 should be equivalent to your 10? I'm not really sure.

I'm currently on Hell easy, just because I wanted to rush to 60. I can play Master 1 solo, which would probably be equivalent to your 5, I would assume, as long as I play strategically.

But yeah Like I said, the Staff is the strongest thing Ive seen dropped of all my time playing so far. I was reading around on the net and found pages from people paying the pc version and at the same wizard level that I happen to be, they were not even close to my hp, and were about 3-4k lower damage from mine so now its just making me confused on what I should be averaging haha. These threads were from when it first came out for PC though, so I'm sure the numbers have changed :/

Easy, Medium, Hard, and Master 1-5 are equivalent to Monster Power 0-10 on the PC version, other than that it's the same as far as I know.

Itemization on console is much better. Kinda like Loot 2.0 supposedly will be. But largely speaking yes it's transferable, the theorycrafting and such carries over fairly well.

Played a little last night, from level 53-54 and managed to move from 11k dps too 17.2k dps. Found The Butchers Sickle and Dark Mage's Shade. So I guess DPS can incease fairly easy in the high 50's

I've been playing this again with the new 2.0 patch, a friend of mine gifted me the game so I've been playing it a little. It's a pretty big revamp of the game and now gaining gear is very easy, Legendaries drop much more often. If you played the PC version then this is a massive difference, if you played the console version then it's probably a smaller difference, as they already had some form of loot 2.0 in from launch.

http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Bigbazz-2623/hero/65304

This is my char now, still using a pre loot 2.0 weapon because the new 2hand weapons seem to be bugged and drop with 1handed damage, still a couple of other old bits too but mostly the loot 2.0 gear, it's really quite powerful due to masses of stats.

The damage and toughness stats shown on that page are way off compared to what is shown ingame too! Anyway, enjoying playing the game at the moment, not sure how long it will last though but I suppose I have the expansion to play too.
