I'm afraid you're both wrong.

I'm sorry. Made after 1998.
Its also still slower than the 959 anyways.
And if you wanna play the GT2 game, I'd rather have the 993 regardless.

A very depressing (or ironic, depending on your point of view) signal to what was to come for Chrysler in the future.

In fact, Chrysler's E-class predated Mercedes' line as we know it - though Mercedes' first real E-class came out in 1977 it wasn't really referred to as E-class until the great name change of 1994 (and in fact most '77-'85 'E-class' models didn't even have 'E' in their name). Of course, however, Mercedes has never actually badged a vehicle as E-class, which is something only Chrysler would do.

I stand by my remark about the 993 Turbo - to each his own!

Despite seeing no proper supercars for about 6 months now, yesterday night was a good turnaround.
  • Red Ferrari F430. Bloody amazing vehicles, blows anything lying on the road into bystanders faces.
  • 650i convertible/M6 convertible
  • Custom Bentley Continental GT (Seeing one with custom rims and the like is rare around Australia, considering that we don't have many rappers.)

It's a rebadged "premium" version of the not-particularly-good Dodge 600. Similar to how the Cimarron was a "premium" Cavalier. Only both the car it was based on and the car itself were junk.

Saw only my second aston martin V8 Vantage earlier today.

I was driving in the opposite direction with my window open coming up to a roundabout when it came off the other side and straight past me, the best bit about it is that the driver put down some gas and roasted my eardrums!
The sound was amazing, it was like automotive orgasm, raw and so brutally loud!

Didnt see much else, nothing i can remember anyway, so probably not worth remembering.

Although i had a thought pop into my head about a car i see quite often, so i looked it up. In my area i have a Vauxhall astra coupe 888, which ive only just discovered was limited to just 100! Gonna get some pics when i see it next as it'll make my top 5 list for rarest cars ive seen, closely followed by the two Ford racing puma's :D

that reminds me,i also seen a Thurlby 888 Astra CDTi today too in hooligan blue, very nice car prefer it over the VXR.also seen an FQ-400 aswell, didnt know both of them where special as they look the same untill you see the back.(i guess thats the point of them anyway :P )

You're going to call my brilliant sighting 'junk'?!

The 75-year-old woman driving would decidedly disagree.

Saw this vehicle at the golf course. At the golf course, people. The thing hasn't got room for a club, let alone a set. Anyway, this particular golf course is in an Asian area of town and is a favorite for Asians for that reason - they even sell a Korean newspaper there. But I golfed a bit and came back out and there was an older black guy getting in. The car was registered last week so he's had it less than two months. I gave him a "Nice car!" and he replied with "Thank you! Stay safe!!" Oh, pride.

testarossa-031107.jpg

testarossa-031107-2.jpg

White Testarossa, straight out of Miami Vice. Chrome wheels and painted side skirts (versus black on normal Testarossas) gave this one an interesting look. Tag was 4RE TR. This is only the fourth Testarossa I've seen in my life - but the second in the last two days.

Why would they let that, that...thing...onto a golf course?
Oh, and Testarossa FTMFW! How can you tell it is a normal Testarossa and not a 512TR, though? I've always told by the side skirts being painted that it was a 512TR.

How rare is an X-type Wagon? I saw one today on the highway on my way to get some new track shoes. There was a middle-aged woman driving it, and it looked brand new. I then saw a brand new Charger R/T.

This one was badged Testarossa which was a bit of a giveaway. :D However usually you're correct - painted skirts meant 512TR, just as painted skirts on a 348 meant GTS or GTB rather than TS or TB. However many owners paint the skirts themselves on both vehicles because they dislike the black look and prefer a 'one color' look to the whole car - there are countless threads on F-chat about that very thing. Personally I hate it because it makes the cars impossible to identify without reading the obscenely small badge.

Though Toronado's right in that they've been sold for some time, they're extremely rare vehicles - I've seen less than ten in my lifetime. For the record, I'd photograph one if I saw it, same as a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Fun X-Type wagon fact: Ian Callum designed the rear. Perhaps it's his only design that doesn't look like an Aston Martin DB9?

More spots from today - Denver's proving to be incredible so far:

continental_gt-031107-2.jpg

I think that's a Mulliner, but I don't care to look it up just as Bentley didn't care to put any effort into making the vehicle.

Yum. Even the valet was admiring this one, probably because it's not his usual Sunday night fare. Older local plates, but this is my first sighting of this particular one.

Blame Motorola for not offering cheap cameraphones to Nextel :grumpy: I honestly thought it was a Hyundai from the back, until I saw the Jaguar cat on the hood. I really wish I could have gotten some pictures of it, we were next to it for a solid 2 minutes.

Oh, and cool Ferrari Pics 👍

I was considering adding that they (X-Types) were all rare because no one bought any of them, but I thought better of it.
I've had it with these damn Bentleys. They seem to be turning into bigger yuppie-mobiles than Escalades. Nice Ferrari, though.

Lamborghini Diablo VT.

Saw it at the bowling alley where my mom works last night. Don't mind the 'gang signs,' me and my friend were having fun taking pictures. I think it was a great one day early b-day present, lol.

It's incredible how many there are considering how expensive they are. I was thinking that to myself today as I was tracking down the Florida plate one - Ferrari has been selling cars at this price point for years and they're rarer than hell, while Bentley seems intent on selling every single one they can make. I think in about ten years these things will be selling in the Nissan Versa range pricewise.

Ever see any out in Lyons, New York?

Great spot - trumps anything I've gotten recently! Thanks for posting the pic - in my view it's the most aggressively-styled car of all time and I'm glad you got to see it. 👍

There are quite a few up here in Grand Rapids. A two people who live down the street from my father have them, and each time I see it they certainly catch my attention, but they aren't as special as they should be. But there are more coupes than sedans around here, which I've always found surprising. Either way, an Azure is more likely to catch my attention these days, and the guy down the street has one of those too.

BTW: These are all "new money" people. I've lived in that same house with my Dad for nearly 19 years, and what was once cornfields and a bunch of blue-collar houses is now becoming a neighborhood spotted with gated communities, multi-million dollar homes, and some of the most disrespectful neighbors you could ever ask for.

...Oh, and the spotted: I did catch a glimpse of one of the new Lexus LS 460s, but I didn't have enough time to take a photo... I was running a little late for work this morning...

Actually, yes. Occasionally one makes its way from Rochester to here. It is largely ignored, as they look like "Big Pontiacs," to quote my friend.
Around here we mostly have muscle cars or expensive to maintain older cars. For example, there is what I think is a Duece Coupe right down the road from me. The Jaguar XKE I've taken a picture of before is around the outskirts. There was a Model A in town up until last year, when the owner moved. There is also an Olds Toronado, quite a few drag cars and 2 identicle Barracuda's in town (one with a Hemi, one with a 440), as well as a Shelby Cobra replica and a Duster 340 (owned by none other than my father, though it is quite rusty).

Even more than the Countach?

Well an Azure is worth about double what a Continental GT is going for (:P) but thanks for the input - it's interesting to know that these things are getting around everywhere. Open up DuPont Registry and some pages make it seem like no other cars exist. I only see them in boring colors although yesterday I saw a green Flying Spur (no pics) and supposedly yellow and red ones exist too.

Meh. Those are around. They're easily confused for ES350s. What do you think of Michigan's new, not blue license plate?

Toronado

Indeed. Most people don't notice them in traffic. They lack presence like nothing on Earth - I just can't figure out why people continue to pay north of $170k for these things.

Even more than the Countach?

Within a month and a half, I saw one example of each on the road and I can answer this question unequivocally: yes.

It honestly looks like it's about to murder your children, kidnap your wife, torture your parents, and do 350mph in the process. While it's sitting there.

It's my 'one day' car, more than any other automobile in existence.

You cheated. Convertibles can't count. :D

I almost forgot: Today I saw the car. The legend. The philosophy:
Toyota Camry Wagon.
I'll try to get a picture of it off when I go to school.

The famous two-wiper Camry wagon, or the early ones? I saw two Lexus ES250s today. That's something, I guess. But then my family used to own one.

When you say older one, are you referring to this one? Then no. It has to be the infamous double-rear-wiper one. The dorky side profile was unmistakable.
I believe it belongs to the same man who owns the 356 Cabriolet, or maybe one of his children.

I had yet to see one on the road, and I really didn't find it all that impressive. Rather boring if anything.

...On the subject of plates, I can't stand our new lake/forest/whatever thing that we've got now. It looks too much like a misprinted Colorado plate, crossed with that of Indiana. I know I'll be holding on to my "Bluie," I plan on keeping that plate active until they tell me I can't anymore.

For some reason, they just look "right."

Indeed so, as there were really only two generations of Camry wagon. A friend of mine had the two wiper one in high school. He beat it to **** so much that his dad traded it in on a new Kia Rio. The Kia dealer gave them $750 for the Camry (which was a 3-liter V6), and he walked away with a Rio for exactly $6k. It didn't have a radio.

YSSMAN

Totally agree. Did I ever tell you my dad is from Muskegon? I've been to Western Michigan on a couple of occaisions and I really like it. My uncle's got property up in Muskegon County to this day.

Same. Occaisionally I'll see one in gold. But if the pictures are anything to judge by, we don't want to be seeing them in yellow or red. They look awful - sports car colors on something that's decidedly not a sports car.
