Totally agree. Did I ever tell you my dad is from Muskegon? I've been to Western Michigan on a couple of occaisions and I really like it. My uncle's got property up in Muskegon County to this day.

Really? Had no idea. I nearly went to Western Michigan but decided against it due to the inconvenience with my monetary funds, and the fact that it seemed like a really-big high school. Although, the athletic facilities nearly had me convinced.

...I'm actually going down there this weekend to see a friend of mine. St. Patrick's day should be fun, the last time I was there was for Halloween.

Same. Occaisionally I'll see one in gold. But if the pictures are anything to judge by, we don't want to be seeing them in yellow or red. They look awful - sports car colors on something that's decidedly not a sports car.

I did see a sort of sky blue/silver one once, but I have yet to see it again. It was a nice looking car, no doubts there, but I wasn't overwhelmed with pleasure. I'm wondering how the new drop-top will fare around here, I've yet to see one.

...What is odd is the fact that I've yet to see a Ford GT out here. My brother has seen one, but I have gone without. Hell, even the Carrera GT which should be even more rare has been seen more often by myself in Ada/Forest Hills, and the same can be said of the RR Phantom.

Its odd how it works like that.

He actually went to the University of Michigan after high school, then came out to Denver. Much of our extended family is still in the Muskegon and Grand Rapids area, though.

Probably that's because Bentley had the brilliant sense to release a convertible in the middle of winter. I've seen three, but none in Denver - in fact, I drove by Bentley Denver last night and there were several convertibles sitting in the showroom. They could be spoken for and not yet delivered, but I'd rather believe that they're impossible to move. Due to the snow.

I've had a tough time seeing Ford GTs - I've seen five (3 local in Denver, 2 in Atlanta but one had Louisiana plates), but none more than once, and they're certainly not as common as their pricetag suggests. I think owners seem to think they're possesors of a museum piece or something.

EB110S. Right here in Atlanta. Those are special Georgia plates.

Told.

Georgia in the US, or Georgia of former USSR? :odd:

E34 M5

Parked at the golf course. Not too many of those in Denver or anywhere.

Far cooler (and far rarer) than the current M5, but just slightly more cool than the E39.

And the Testarossa deserves another 👍. I will top it tomorrow.

Lamborghini Diablo VT.

Saw it at the bowling alley where my mom works last night. Don't mind the 'gang signs,' me and my friend were having fun taking pictures. I think it was a great one day early b-day present, lol.

And in the Devil's own color.
Great sighting.

No other car seems to have the stance and pissed-of look of a first gen. Diablo.

Here is what I saw from Friday-Sunday.
The BMW,GT,Lambo, and Vanquish were at my dad's work but I figured that you don't see those cars to often, so I put them in here. I apologize if you don't want me to do this anymore.

BMW Z8
( I had never seen one of these before )

Wow - this is an Alpina Z8 - extremely rare (2003 only, versus '00-'03 for the normal car), with less than 600 manufactured and only about 300 in the States. I saw one once back in 2004 and every so often I lament about how I'd kill to see it again. Those went for about $140k new - great spot!! 👍

Wow. I personally have only seen one Z8 in person (outside of the auto show circuit), so any car is certainly worth the photos. An Alpina? Thats great. The one I saw and got to sit in was the same color, but this one was one of the last (presumably) that were built, as they still had it in the dealer showroom in the spring of '04.

...Its a pitty they only looked good....

Not today but on saturday I saw these beauties:

Audi RS4 avant:drool:
Porsche 997 turbo
O7 Golf R32
Mercedes CLS 63 AMG
Shelby Mustang (new shape)

Sorry i don't hve any pics but i wasn't carrying a camera at the time.

Ok today was probably the best day evah for spotting good cars for me.

In the morning I saw:
A CLS AMG(same as everyday)
A Jaguar XR-R (same as everyday)

Ok I was early today so I decided to take a different bus to uni, It takes some scenic route through some really nice areas.
I saw in one guys driveway a silver AC Cobra!! It didnt have that chrome front bumper and the grill had silver mesh.
In the same driveway this guy had a Corvette Z06(previous model before this) in a beautiful metallic blue and also another american car. Looked straight outta the ghetto, had gold lowrider wheels and a forest green glitter kinda paint. Gotta be a drug dealer I was thinking:lol:

At uni there was a a yellow mustang(93ish model, a bit ugly but sounded goooood!), A skyline R32 modded GTS and two silver subaru Impreza's

On my way home I saw a Subaru Impreza rally replica, an Audi RS4 in a light blue and.....thats it.

I love my daily commute :D:D:D

The unfortunate thing about the Alpina Z8 is that its one of those "rare because its more expensive and less powerful" deals, this was the first Alpina to make less power after they were through with it. Basically in order to fit the car with an automatic they had to steal the motivation from an X5 4.6is which is less powerful than the original mil. This car only makes sense if you are Doug :sly:
Still an awesome sighting though

I saw an orange Lamborghini Murcielago roadster today! I caught sight of it just as it passed us on the opposite side of the freeway. I knew it was a Lamborghini due to the bright orange color, but I turned around just in time to notice it was a Murcielago roadster. Shame I couldn't get any pics of it. I think this is the second time I've seen it, so maybe I'll see it parked around town sometime soon.

A Z8, TWO Shelby G.T.350's, a Diablo, and a Murcielargo? You guys are killing me :P

Oh, and Toronado, is the Lyons, New York where you live pronounced Lee-ons as in the city in France, or lie-ons as in the animal?

Well today, for the lab of my Measurements class we had to clock how long it would take 100 cars to go 100 feet, as in measuring individual cars time over 100 feet. This way we could see how accurate the city's speed limit for the street is. I have not gone through all the stuff yet, just collecting raw data. While I was doing that, it just so happened that a crimson/maroon Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder passed by. Very sweet stuff! Too bad I did not have a better chance to watch it for a while. But with what little time I did have seeing it, I noticed it was brand new and still had the paper tags on it. Hopefully it will be staying in Norman so I can see it some more.

Remember GT Pro how you saw that Chev SSR in Melbourne and I was doubting it. Well, I retract my doubts. I saw one (it?) outside the Aston Martin/RR dealership in South Yarra. I can't believe I left my camera in my car while I got a Slurpee, because an M6 also drove out of the BMW Dealership when I was coming back too.

Well, Branson hasn't shown anything worthy during the first day, not even on the trip up here.

The only things worthy was the 'new' Thunderbird, a Jaguar XKR Conv. (Previous gen.), and an older SL model that sounded great.

Hopefully, tomorrow will show something good.

 Very true - however it's still a very cool sighting regardless.

Are you conspiring against my seeing a Gallardo Spyder?

 It was a brand new one still having the paper tags on it. It was mighty pretty and the third sighting of a Gallardo by myself. Hopefully this one will be a local one also.

Yeah, but it's an Alpina Z8! Very nice. 👍 The others were cool, too, especially #003 GT350. And no apologies -- put more up! :D

Oh I can't wait for this.

Of course you can. You're in Denver. Walk around town for 15 minutes; you'll get your daily dose of vitamin F. :D

But why wait any longer....

Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG ~2001 - friend-of-a-friend's car, in the garage. Best thing is that it's not black or silver, but dark blue, which is, er, out of the blue.

Chevrolet Malibu 307 1969 - thought it was a 396, then thought the 307 was fake, then actually looked it up. Muscle car season is starting early this year (if off to a slow start).

BMW X5 4.8i 2008 - brand new, but the second one I've seen. The other was passing opposite me at night. It's as seen on TV.

Ferrari F40 - ta da! Heading to the bookstore, on a lark I went the long way around, and there it was. Quickly parked and got out of the car, and started up with the picture taking. After getting a good look, I realized this car was a bit different. This car was special. I had a ride once in this car. Not recently, but around 4 years ago at a local car meet. Granted, it was a short ride and no speeding laws were broken, but ridden all the same. I looked around for the owner, but he was nowhere to be found. Photos will do for now.

^ wow I bet that you had to stop and rub your eyes and make sure is was actually there ( well thats what I would have done )

And man its been a good two weeks for car spotting's.

It's incredible - an early pick for DYSAGT Sighting of the Year. It's not the sighting that, say, an Enzo or an F50 would be (based purely on production numbers) but I'd put it in that general ballpark. It certainly outdoes the Testarossas and NSXs I've been putting up. Really incredible.

So, I've never seen an F40. Anywhere. Ever. Show, dealer - it's never happened. What does it look like? How incredible really is it? You've clearly seen at least this one before - is it really all it's cracked up to be?

Plates were purchased within the last year - the vehicle could've changed hands since you last saw it. Probably not though, since when F40s change hands, they usually go long distances.

Incredible sighting. Thanks for the photos. You made my night!

EDIT: today's theme, for me, was 'crap you don't expect to see women driving.'

That includes:

elise-031207.jpg

And:

rs4-031207.jpg

The female driver of the Elise was in her 40s and on the phone; the female driver of the RS4 had to be in her 50s at least. There was also this female-driven oddity:

e550_4matic-031207.jpg

The E550 4Matic isn't out yet, but I guess it's about to be - an online check says magazines got a preview a month ago, so maybe this is just one of the first. Either way, I wasn't aware of it. I question Mercedes' introducing a new model on an already five-year-old platform, but then again I love the E63 and I'd be a hypocrite if I just wondered about the E550 4Matic. Florida 'Manufacturer' tags.

Not much else in the way of expensive cars today although I did catch my first Denver-area M6:

m6-031207.jpg

Otherwise, just random oddities: an E36 M3 convertible (the only car ever simultaneously cancelled and released), a GMC Sierra Denali (the truck with four-wheel steering), a new S80 (my third sighting of a vehicle that came out four months ago - sales looking good, Volvo), and a Mazda MP3 (one of only 1,500) at the golf course.

^ Agreed, this just made my day. Such a beautiful car.
Out of curiosity, is there something going through the lugnut on the wheel? It looks like theres some sort of pin in it.

Because there were no lug nuts, I believe the pin's purpose is to provide leverage so you could unscrew the center cap, which served as the only tie-down for the wheels and tires. I can't be sure though.

Spotted these two today.

Porsche 911 993 GT2.

I believe the pin is there as added security to ensure the wheels stay on. With there only being a single nut keeping the wheel from just falling off had the nut not been tightened fully or even cross-threaded, the pin secures the nut to the hub spindle.
