I've never seen an original mini cooper before.
A guy down the street from my Father restores them, so we've got quite a few of the old ones floating around in Grand Rapids. My Grandpa nearly bought one for the heck of it (it was BR Green), but decided not to after sitting in it.
...Speaking of Minis...
I was having a discussion with a fellow member about how many Minis there were in Grand Rapids, and what kind of market it is. Anyway, thinking of that, I snapped this photo on the way to work...
I see the convertibles less frequently than the hatches, but it was an S no less, which is even less likely than the 'regular' convertible around here.
Its a Pontiac G6 with manufacturer plates, which leads me to several conclusions:
1) Its on a test-drive from Lake Orion for some reason, but I don't know why it would be in Grand Rapids.
2) Its a test-car for a new engine/transmission combination in the G6, presumably the LY7 and the six-speed automatic.
3) It could be a test-model for the upcoming G6 update before the switch to Alpha. Although, you'd think it would involve more cammo...
Shot of the Weekend
Mustang SVO. The odd turbocharged four-pot 'Stang was an odd option to the 'regular' V8 GT, but of course, it was the precursor to the later SVT Cobra models. I still think they're cool, and of course, they are a rare find indeed.
BTW: Thats the same corner I spotted the old Jaguar E-Type on a few weeks ago, not to mention a few others that I wasn't able to take photos of. I need to head back into Cascade more often...
