BRAD'S MIAMI CAR SPOTS
First, I regret to inform GTP that the first two or so days worth of spots were lost due to some kind of malfunction on my RAZR where it refused to save photos for some strange reason. Some of them were taken with my camera, some with my phone. It all largely depended on where I was, what the weather was like, and what time of day it was. Cars that were lost included several Lamborghini Gallardos (notably one that stalled on Washington Ave), a Unique Whips Lambo Merc (in yellow on Ocean Drive), a Lotus Exiege S (the first and only I had seen), and several other Bentley and Rolls-Royce models.
One last note is that I eventually gave up on photographing some cars. The number of Bentley models became quite outrageous in Miami, so I only kept a few of them.
...And of greatest disappointment were the cars that you heard coming, but couldn't get a photo of... Most notably a Aston Martin Vanquish S blasting down Collins Ave in front of my hotel while I was waiting to cross the street. Needless to say, he was doing about double the posted speed limit.
So here we go!
BMW 2002 (I think)
2008 Porsche Cayanne. The first of the new ones I've seen.
Late model F360 parked outside Armani Exchange. It was enough to get me in the store to spend $130 on two shirts...
Audi RS4 in the middle of downtown Miami. Its the first RS4 I can really recall seeing up close on the streets, at home or in Florida.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage at The Collection. Long story short, these guys are the nicest salesmen I've ever met, and were happy to let me wonder and take photos, and even talk about the cars. The Collection consists of Aston, Jaguar, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, Audi, Lotus and Bentley. Compared to the douchebags at Lamborghini of Miami, who wouldn't let me take pictures, these guys rocked. But that may be because I bought a Porsche Martini Racing jacket...
DB9 Volante @ The Collection. Its not the first I've seen, but its the first I've photographed outside of an autoshow.
Jaguar XKR @ The Collection. Still my favorite Jag, one of the best ways to spend $100K.
The Sex (F430) @ The Collection. Period.
Ferrari 575M @ The Collection. Probably my favorite Ferrari of recent memory.
Still sweet.
Bentley GTC and F430 Spyder. Not a nice hotel, still nice cars there on Collins Ave.
Not the best photo of a Rolls-Royce Phantom, but my brother was working the camera there.
Video of a Rolls-Royce in the "Miami Monsoon"?
Probably the same F430 Spyder at the hotel, but hey...
Mercedes SL65(?) and an Audi S4 on I95. I had to go pretty quick to catch both of them on the way to Ft. Lauderdale.
Another Bentley Flying Spur in Ft. Lauderdale. There were too many of these down there...
Dodge Viper SRT-10 Quad Cab. These are rare even in Michigan, so seeing one in Ft. Lauderdale was a bit odd. I keep wondering if it was a slushbox or not...
I'm sorry for the blur, but I don't think the valet wanted me in there taking photos. Thats the first M6 Convertible I've seen outside of an autoshow, spotted in Ft. Lauderdale.
DeTomasso Panera. Probably one of the coolest cross-breeds of American and Italian engineering, it was a treat after leaving Miami Ink disappointed, looking for lunch on Washington Ave.
Ferrari F360 Spyder. It was parked there for MTV Casting. Whoopdy freakin' doo!
A new-school Triumph bike. My brother says they are expensive, and rare. I don't know...
Hey, a VW Phaeton Coupe!
My first Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG. It was sexy to say the least, and I had to go kinda fast to catch it in North Miami Beach.
A BMW M5, taken at the douchbag Lamborghini of Miami dealer. Its the only photo I have left from there, as the Lotus, Viper, and Porsche spots were never saved for some reason.
Chrysler 300C SRT-8. I don't see these too frequently at home, but there were nice cars going in and out of this hotel all week long.
My sexy rental car...
Maserati Quattroporte. Still one of the best-looking sedans on the market. They became quite common by the end of the week...
(Here come the RAZR photos)
Ferrari F430 Spyder. This guy was blasting up and down South Beach all night on Friday, and I had the pleasure of sitting next to him for about six or more blocks before he turned off Collins Ave. Easily one of the best-sounding cars in the world.
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 LeMans Edition. They're rare even in Michigan, so seeing one in Ft. Lauderdale was certainly special to me.
Lambo Gallardo Convertible. On Washington Ave.
Its a Shelby GT-H convertible, probably the worst photo ever. I was already pissing off the cabbies behind me, so I had to act fast.
Its a Rolls-Royce, but I'm uncertain of the model. I caught that after leaving The Collection while heading back to my Town Car.
For those who don't know, the MKIII Jetta (like mine) was called the Vento in other parts of the world. I don't know if this one is a genuine Vento or just a badge kit, but I thought it was cool.
Cadillac XLR-V, in Ft. Lauderdale. Its the same spot the M6 was parked in.
Another Gallardo Convertible.
THE PHOTO TO END ALL PHOTOS
This place had exotics every night of the week, but this one took the cake. That is the first time I've seen two Carrera GTs together at once, not at an auto show, and its the first and only red one I've ever seen. Just plain awesome.
