Here's Mercedes doing high altitude testing of the new C63 wagon and SL63. I sent the photos into Autblog - if they'll take the Lauren thing they should definitely take this. California manufacturer plates. Spotted on the world's highest paved road, the one leading up to Mt Evans in Clear Creek County Colorado.

My first Audi R8 spot. This one is running manufacturer plates from Arizona and has body-colored side panels - and AWFUL wheels. Both things made the car look pretty boring - I would never go for this color. But then again, neither did the driver, as he is presumably employed by Audi.

Hope you enjoyed these spots too!

Gah, all your pictures have the bandwith exceeded picture in place of all your recent pics, including your Veyron sighting with Ralph Lauren!

Two while I was in the South of England (ya London is south ish but I was near Bournemouth for these):

Definetly has presence :)

My uncle likes these cars, this seemed a nice example - the owner said he bought it after restoration.

Photobucket measures the bandwidth you use in monthly period. However, each "month" starts on the day you registered, which can be checked under Account Options.

**** that! I just found out for $25 yearly I can have unlimited bandwidth and room for more photos than God. I upgraded. Easy decision. My photos should work now! 👍

Yeah, they work now.

Uh...nice wrangler?

Are those the stock rims on the R8? And I'm guessing the side panel was painted over to match the color of the car.

Yeah - it's weird - and completely aftermarket. Based on the two-door long-wheelbase Unlimited models they sold in 2005 and 2006 (which are weird and rare to begin with).

I think it's the basest of the base models (save the R-tronic gearbox it had), and perhaps was being tested, given its manufacturer plates. I have seen several Audis in that area with manufacturer tags, including a diesel Q7. Regarding the color and wheels, as a friend who saw it with me said - 'the worst possible color and wheel scheme - and it still looks good!' Can't wait to see a more aggressive model.

Well the wheels on that Audi R8 look terrible. They look terrible for a car in that price range. I could see those wheels on something in a much lower price category, but not on something in the R8s bracket. The color on the R8 is also pretty bland and definitely not a color I would choose on the car, though I do think I like the body colored side panel. I will have to see it on a better color on the car, but I do think it will look better if the whole car is painted the same color, instead of one part on each side being a different color.

Did you take a picture of the rear window or rather what's inside/past it?
Unless there was some cover over it.

Test rims, as I've found. The R8 will recieve what you see now from press releases, and another set for '08 to go into effect with the carbon fibre panels option.

This basically means, the first R8s will look pretty plain, or normal. In 2008 though, a couple more things will get the car orders going, although Boardwalk already has about 11 orders.

Great pics of the R8, stunning car, although the only problem I have and it will probably seem weird and insignificant are the mirrors. They just don't seem that "nice" in the pics, plus are those indicator lights in them? That would just make it worse....

I know, I'm weird.

What the hell does Audi still need to test? This thing's been in development longer than the damn Veyron!

KSaiyu

Yes. Remember side-mounted indicator lights ARE required by the European market - can't fault Audi for having to include them somewhere. In the shot of the R8 and my car you'll note their presence above and to the right of the front wheels on my A4, but it's become more common to see them in the mirrors on newer cars.

Not the rims, themselves. I meant that more as since this is a car with manufacturer plates, and may be undergoing last minute "tests", that these rims were just slapped on.

I know - what I'm saying is, what last-minute tests could they POSSIBLY still have to carry out!!

Ahhh I didn't know that. However, I still think they look too frumpy, too "Mercedes" for the type of car, especially after looking at say a 911 Turbo.

I saw an Audi R8 the other day... I was being interviewed for a position in a VAG dealer. Looked really nice, in black with the silver side panel thingie. I thought it'd be bigger, though.

Nice. 👍

Good luck on getting the job, too. Applying for the floor, or the shop?

From what I've heard it is actually a rather small supercar. That has to be because its built on the Gallardo chassis.
