Okay. I know I have no pic, but I think I've been here long enough to be believed.

I saw a fricking Carrera GT aswell. It drove past while I was going to footie with my mate as we approached J45 of the M4! WTF was it doing here!?!?!?

Aww man.

The Enzo does have a spoiler, Doug.

Not this one!

Yes there is an AMG C55 it replaced the AMG C43

No, the C55 (367HP 5.5L V8) replaced the C32 (354HP 3.2L V6, supercharged). The C43 was quite a few years earlier, was one of the first official AMG models, and there was a gap of a few years between the end of the C43's production and the beginning of the C32.

Spots today include a very weird spot of a new Volvo XC70 on New Jersey manufacturer plates:

What it's doing all the way out there with Jersey plates is beyond me, but it looks like last year's XC70 that's been melted some. It looks okay; nothing spectacular, but not ugly.

That's just beautiful. Never really appreciated the car until that photo. 👍

I've been away for the weekend again, so I saw more nice cars. Here's a sampling.

neat little Jag XJ V12

Speaking of the XJ, I saw a nice XJR here

More beemers, but I saw a Z4 which was cool

300

a fantastic Bel-air

look hard enough, and you'll see a vintage beetle convertible

hot rod:drool:

I believe that's a Boxster, with a nice two-tone

The best for last, a Porsche Carrerra 4.
I know most of my sightings aren't rare, but that's mostly all I see.

Great to come back from a weekend and see so many good spots. Me? Only decent thing I saw which was possible to get a pic of was this Exige...

First of 2 sighings - Either a Last Ditch Racing or a Team O'Neill rally car in Bar Harbor, Maine.

Edit - second of 2 sightings. This one in North East Harbor, Maine. I didn't think that these were too common so I got some photos of the thing. Not overly impressive, but still a noteworthy sighting.

Well, it isn't a car, but its different:

Thats a motorbike with a side-car, something vintage, very much Garden State-style. My brother and I couldn't figure out what the bike was, much less the last time we've seen anything like that on the road...

Roo
Yep. That's the tripod you've set up in your car shaking.

You don't need a tripod to take pictures whilst you drive - resting your elbows on the dashboard does the trick perfectly well :dopey:

SPOT OF AUGUST (so far)

For you maybe... Much though I hate to blow my own...

Porsche Carrera GT: 1,270 made (604 to USA), 2004-2006

Famine

Alpine A110 1600S: ~440 made (ZERO to UK), 1969-1973.

Also, in relation to your picture...

M5Power
Yeah, definitely bring this up the next time supercar parking comes up.

I'd still take the Carrera sorry. :D

Ok, honestly I'd take both but If I had to choose. Not saying the Alpine isn't good, I think it's absolutely gorgeous. Just like the GT more. ;)

Nice Jag KiKie.👍
Today i saw a 350Z cabrio a Lexus RX400H and believe it or not a red Bentley (sorry no pictures) ,butt i know where he lives (a good 2 km from where I live) so i'm gonna buy a digi cam and try to make pictures of the car.

I've seen a couple of Alpine's back in the UK. In fact last time I was there one followed me for the best part of two hours between Bristol and Truro. In fact I think I still have a photo somewhere.

Actually I'm not particularly impressed by your Alpine spot, especially compared to my Carrera GT spot, for several reasons.

One, the quality of my spots is based not upon rarity but upon value coupled with rarity; that Carrera GT was bought-new for $440,000 US. The reason I judge based on rarity and value is because it relates to how often owners are going to drive the vehicles. A Plymouth Conquest is rare - much rarer than the Carrera GT when new and now it's twenty years old; I've only ever seen one - but it's also worthless. Indeed, I consider a $440,000 car with 1,200 made a better spot than, say, an $80,000 car with 900 made.

Furthermore, we're comparing the entire production run of the Carrera GT to one specific model of the Alpine A110. That isn't fair. Why not compare all silver Carrera GTs to the A110 1600S? Or all yellow ones, for that matter? You've divided your spot - which was produced in much larger numbers - into one particular trim level, counting only those cars, comparing it to the entire production set of the Carrera GT. Apples to oranges.

Spot of August. I was talking about 'personally' but if those are the contenders I think I know which one I'd rather see - and I know I'm far from alone in that viewpoint.

you forgot one little important thing, the fact that 0 of that Alpine were imported to the UK..

plus I would rather have the A110 any day over the Formula 1 car but thats just me
