It seems you guys see rare cars like Ferraris and Porsches every day. Especially M5Power. I have NEVER seen anything better than a Skyline R34. :(

The most important thing is being in a location where you've got a chance to see exotics on a regular basis. Beyond that, it's about so much more than luck - it takes a lot of dedication just hoping for the eventual payoff. But it's worth it...

That's the last six months only, for the record - and hours upon hours of searching.

Hey Doug, got a tip on a car you might like to see. As of this month, there is a yellow Spyker C8 Spyder in Atlanta. Might want to keep an eye out for when you head back. ;)

Privately registered? Motorcars Georgia has one in their showroom - can't recall the color.

EDIT: it's black. What the hell do these things cost?

For now, it was just delivered to a dealer, but there are a lot of offers.
I believe the C8 is valued at $257,000, & can raise to $325,000. The C12 is valued at $600,000+.

Well I can honestly say I would not pay that kind of money for a Civic considering the VW dealer down the street had an R32 for $35,000 with some options on it.

You'd pay 35k for a Golf, seriously? It's just as ridiculous as the Mugen Si in my opinion. Sure it's got 250hp and 4wd and leather everything, but in the end it's still just a Golf... that weighs 3700lbs, too.

35k gets you a crapload of way better cars than an R32...

New XKR. I think it looks great, better than the Aston.

Haha you've seen one too :) I once saw one of them, except convertible with the best colour options available (IMO) It was like a beige-ish colour with same interior. It looked stunning, it really did. There was some guy on a racing bike, trying to keep up and about 60km/h and he didnt stand a chance

As far as small performance cars go I would buy the R32. If I was looking at a broader range of cars then no I wouldn't buy the R32 because as you said there are better cars out there...like the G35 or, hell, a 3-series.

So you've finally found that elusive Coupe, or am I missing something?

Nah - for one, the coupe is the new style Viper only - so even if I had seen a coupe on the photographed style ('92-'02), it wouldn't be the one I was looking for. And, furthermore, than model is actually a convertible - it just has a removable hardtop on it.

I've seen twelve '92-'02 Viper coupes (called the Viper GTS). The problem is the damn new version!

R32 Golf
Another 599 (I really like it in Rosso Corsa - cheesy number plate though. Supercar owners don't have any choice but to park i ntight spaces i nHong Kong. Watch that door!)
Phantom - not a short car! (Look at man at rear for comparison)

The other day I said that I'd be interested to see how many S-Class Mercedes I could photograph from one spot in one hour. Well, I did it today and gave up after 20 minutes as it became a bit of a chore! Take a deep breath...

Just noticed a Lexus sneaked in there - sorry my eyes were tired from cropping the photos!)

That's 90 S-Classes in 22 minutes! Or just over 4 S-Classes a minute. Not mentioning the ones that were going in the other direction or the ones that I missed because there were so many at one time. Isn't that number quite ridiculous?

I was in Boston, MA a few years ago and I had the same impression. I don't know if it compares in numbers, but it certainly felt like every second car was a Mercedes.

Alpina 3-series based Turbo, shot at work. You can see the McDonalds sign oh-so-vaguely over the roof, where the white reflection leads to.

That would even outdo me in Mercedes-loving Atlanta. Good spots - the Phantom is a long-wheelbase model, which accounts for its enormity.

That R8 picture... is... Awesome.

Thanks! There are another couple. They were taken through a showroom windown obviously, so it doesn't count as a good spot.

Here's a biger one of the original pic for you...

No offence to you chaser_fan, but I would love to know why Metar thinks that is such an awesome pic. More window reflection is noticed than the car. lol
