Not really, they are just ignorant asshats that have a daddy that spoils them. I'm sick of young Jeep owners to be honest, especially SRT-8 owners.

I wouldn't mind an SRT-8 over what i'm driving now is all i'm saying. Let me guess? They like to peel out and stuff alot? I'm too afraid to do that for one I don't want to get pulled over and two i'm just too chicken to do it around everyone. Also don't hate on all SRT drivers, they're not all bad. ;)

And an M3!:D

Ha! You're right. Though if I photographed every M3 I saw, there wouldn't be room left on the memory card for anything else!

Thanks for the comments Dac_Xint. Wow! Those are some special cars right there! Good photos.

I was so unlucky with my photography yesterday. On the way to the Island, I was passed by a gleaming red 360 Stradale, but was fumbling with my camera so much I couldn't get a shot, then the same happened with an all black 360 Spider. Next my new camera decided to go the same way as my old one and began going all blurry on me. Then when I was showing my friend the dodgy battery cover on my camera (taking out the battery in the process) I was passed only feet away by an all black Mercedes CLK55 DTM Convertible, 1 of 80 produced. To top it off, editing these photos, my computer decides to delete pictures of a new GTR and something else with a click of the left mouse button. Brilliant. Anyway, amongst others, this is what I did manage to get yesterday.

Nissan R33 GTR
nis_r33gtr_00a-1.jpg

Okay, now this is getting silly. Eight separate R35 GTR's in perhaps 2.5 hours. Are these really cheap here or something? I'm going to have to find out, because I don't think I have ever seen a new, high-end car (other than Porsche 911's) that are so common. I even got 2 in 1 photo...

...and that's your lot!

Very nice spots Rue, but damn... two GTR's in one photo? I guess nissan makes millions of them, brings a few over here and dumps the rest in Asia

Man those shots just made my eyes bleed Rue... A friend of mine who lives on the Island has a father who calls himself a car collector, and he has one of those R35 GT-Rs on order, and also plans to pick up a V-Spec when it arrives in HK... Nuts:crazy:...

If I remember correctly these GT-Rs are a little over 1 000 000 HKD, so it's about 66K GBP, give or take the same as an entry level 911. So, knowing how many expensive Porsches there are in HK... I wouldn't be at all surprised with the sales of the R35... especially with the Skyline's popularity in HK.

But... seeing so many of them in so little time and space is... well, silly...

To the GT-Rs: Man that's just ridiculous. All those GT-Rs and to think all I and i'm sure almost everyone here just wants one.

I've seen one too! :D And not in Hong Kong![/self-plug]

Rue, is that really a Honda NSX or an Acura. I think we decided the Honda would be much rarer.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, that 550 Barchetta is very rare spot too?

Nissan doesn't officially sell them here. I bet they're kicking themselves that they're not because someone's making a whole lot of cash!

Okay, no more GT-R shots.

I would stop posting them, but that car is just too cool!

Don't ever miss a CLK DTM Cabrio again. :)

If I do see one again, I'll be sure not to!

You're right. A mill isn't much for a lot of people here and it's a lot of performance for the money and Hong Kong people truly do love the Skyline in all it's guises. I don't think there's a car available for that money in HK that has as much grunt and street-cred in equal measure.

A car collector, eh? Hmmm, you must put me in touch! ;)

Could be a badge job, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be a Honda imported from Japan.

Yeah, 1 of 449 and one of my all-time favourite cars. This could be one I have seen before, as I didn't get a look at the license plate, the driver definitely wasn't the same. If it was a different one, it's the fourth I've seen here.

Bloody hell. The Evo...think he's got enough gauges?

Ha! I didn't notice that. I think he's trying to become the first Hong Kong driver to fly to the moon.

Never really understood why Hong Kong, as an ex-british colony, uses dollars. Especially at such a different $-£ rate?

Despite the fact that Ferrari claimed 448 were made, 457 are known. Beginning with the F50, Ferrari began understating the true production numbers in order to make the cars seem rarer than they actually are, with the most glaring example being the Enzo - 399 plus one were supposedly made, but the number is now known to be 500.

996 Turbo S? Did they ever make an S?

Yes they did. It was the last or second to last year of the 996 run.

Indeed they did...

I think they did, I saw a cabriolet with Turbo S on the back time ago:
<snip>
Rare I think 👍

Nope. Droptop S was the commonest variant when available, by a huge margin. I got curious and looked up the numbers when I was at work, looking at competitors for, uh, a car which is, uh, hmm, nevermind. :D

V8 Vantage Roadster, more probably. Think, its about the same size as a 911 Turbo Convertible and about the same price-ish. Perhaps.

Erm, there already is one?

There is no way a v8 vantage can compete with a 911 turbo S, it's not happening.

EDIT: unless it's the V12 vantage RS

I know, perhaps he was just comparing them to each other. I hardly think the DBS is in the same league as a 911. 911 is alot cheaper for a start. I'm not sure what the DBS goes against certainly isn't a 911 though.

Also, I didn't know he was refering to a new model, I thought it might have been a previous model which is rivals or something.

Frig guy...i cant wait to go back to Hong Kong...getting to see all these exotics around my friends house. Plus i can get a new phone:dopey:

So here is my newest set using way less PS levels. I'll save the wild effects for the specialer shots.

Couple doors down. Toyota Landy, pretty mean

Somebody want to ID this Roller? I know nothing about 'em.

101-13.jpg

I saw this lined up at the light and knew it wasn't a Camaro... Pretty rare in my books! Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante.

114.jpg

113.jpg

I've been waiting for bad enough luck to make a collage like this for so long. It was frustrating that the first time I saw a 599 with my camera and not at a track it was totally botched by some gypsy in an Intrepid. The two larger pics would've been ballin' too...

201-1.jpg

Couple minutes later a 360 slightly made up for it...

115.jpg

119.jpg

Right as I lined up to shoot this DB9 that was waiting to turn, I see a bunch of private school 12 year-old kids taking pictures of the same car. One that I recognized who sometimes walks by when I'm at my usual perch (many of my recent shots are here - slightly higher than street level across from that Hyatt hotel) comes up to me and says "you car hunt here too?" I was so peeved that a bunch of kids now come to shoot the same cars as I do. Somehow the specialness of seeing something rare is lost when there's a group of children taking pictures of the same car with cell phone cameras. I think it made it worse that one of them was shooting with daddy's 1,500$ Canon.

Filled with frustration that my little spot isn't my little spot anymore, I shot one last picture for that place and walked away for the last time:

104-8.jpg

On my way back I saw my first IS-F. Pretty meh:

117.jpg

I swung by the Four Seasons to see what the hoopelah was with all the limos driving around, and low-and-behold, my missed Ferrari 599GTB was parked up:

116.jpg

Shot of the day, finishing up my excuse to go up that way again:

118.jpg

Making matters worse, the 12 year-olds followed me and took the same angles and same shots of me of the 599. I was thinking of being friendly and asking what they had seen today and if they post them anywhere, but forget about it. He was lucky I wasn't a bad person, because there are plenty of people in this city who would pick off that Canon as if he was a ripe little strawberry bush.

Wow... quite the hostility to people sharing our enjoyable hobby. Be nice!

Nice photos, especially ultimately the 599 shot. The Rolls is a Silver Cloud... not too rare or valuable.

Wow... quite the hostility to people sharing our enjoyable hobby. Be nice!

There wasn't any hostility at all. I didn't say a word more than "yep."

I was thinking about it on the way home, and I figured it was mostly self-pity, felt kind of lonely that I go out for walks alone all of the time to spot cars and a group of 12-year olds now camp out where I usually go. Like I said, it removes the specialness of seeing something when a group of other people are seeing the same thing a the same time. Then again, I don't really shoot to see a rare car, I do it for the photography aspect of it. My car photography has drastically improved over the last few months and it's been a longtime aspiration of mine to be a car photographer on the side.

Thanks for the props though.
