Congratulations to […] to Sage for being so ridiculously Sage
I’m going to go apoplectic the next time Autoblog uses “less” instead of “fewer” – they’ve made that mistake at least a half dozen times, and it’s driving me crazy.

[…] to his buddy Tim
Aw, he’ll be touched. Actually, no, he probably wont.

I definitely post too little. It's because I definitely don't get around here often enough. I don't want to fade away from this place, though.

You are not the only one who posts too little. Though, I think my getting around here not enough has more to do with my slow reading (maybe that is just my perception :dopey:), unwillingness to post unless I feel I am making a contribution (which is not often or so I think), and obsessive compulsiveness when it comes to actually making a post (I tend to read a post about 18 times before I decide if it is worthy to be submitted).

Noone ever mentions me... Even if it's just saying my name, I feel left out and alone.

You are not the only one.

I think it looks good! 👍

THIS BRILLIANT POST was my 20,000th.

 Congrats, Doug! Here's to many, many more...

to Rue for consistently out-spotting me,

Nah... You reckon? I would have said the same about you. I'm just pleased to share this little corner of the Interweb with ya. If it wasn't for this thread and your (and others) friendly competition I might have a life - perish the thought!

Great spots Cano! It never fails to amaze how much interesting stuff you run across!

Actually, that bugs me too, but at least you know what I'm talking about.

Vash
You are not the only one.

Ahhh I should've remembered you Vash. I always appreciated both your spots and your knowledge. Best wishes!

On more than one occasion this summer I have photographed an exotic car while on a date. Perish the thought indeed.

BTW harrytuttle: Upper Hook Road & Girdle Ridge Road Katonah NY. No big secret who lives there. Between the owner of that property and one of his neighbors, there are five McLaren F1s registered on that block. Have a look. :)

I wouldn't go that far. See the rest of the "top 20 posters" list? I'd bet I've made most of the preeeeeeeeeetty unhappy during my time here.
Awwww come on, you know when you have to give credit to yourself. I mean, your Veyron spot almost put GTP on top of the Digg lists. I mean, just look at this stat:
Most users ever online was 7,575, Nov 20 2007 at 3:32 AM.
and that was just because of your thread! Even if you upset a few people, they just get over it and move on, and so should you. ;)

*snip*

Eunos Roadster? In the US? What?
🤬, that is awesome!!!! That is the Eunos Roadster 1500 LE. (as the stated number of production, the red leather interior and the black paint) Certainly rare if I do say so myself, even more than all the other spots in your post. But the rest of the spots are quality as well, just like the AMG Black Series and the Tesla Roadster. ;)

X2 👍 I just can't help it, I totally live the beetle (even the taxi one.....) wish I could own one myself..... :(

dont you dare use the j word against a land rover :P
that i believe is a minerva, belgian built series ones (with permission of course, and a few changes)

Sorry,I wont do it again.:dopey:

Thanks, the Super Beetle is rare here, it was never sold officialy, tough some of them made trough the north US border, and so was the ragtop Rabbit, never sold here but there are quite a lot... still rare to see, but not as much as a Super Beetle.

The Tempo is weeeeird, never seen one before (:

And in the Mustang and Volvo 1800 post, where the heck are the pictures of all the other cool old cars in that shop? heck man, snap everything there! I see karmans, an old 30s car (wth is that?) and a Peugeot 205! snaps!

I wiil try to have some pics next time, today the repair shop was closed.

Rue
Serge, is Belgium the place where all classic European cars go to die? Seriously it looks like an absolute treasure trove of vintage metal.

They dont come here to die, they come here to get a new life.:)
There are two repair shops not far from where I lve that's why I see some Old
Timers.
There's one at 3 Km and one at 7 Km from where I live.

Today.

Carrera.

Spot of the day.

👍 Thanks!

Hopefully, even though work starts for me, I will still be able to occasionally contribute some pictures to the thread. I should be able to see some nice cars in downtown Oklahoma City during lunch.

Though, I am not looking forward to starting work. I am enjoying my month vacation too much and work is going to ruin the routine I had going. Oh well, the paycheck will allow me to buy a new car! :dopey:

Another Dodge Challenger, I wasn't going to photograph it but it was a lame car spotting day.
P6052377.jpg

Then I found this, a Saleen Focus N20
P6072384.jpg

Saleen F-150 S331 Sportstruck
P6072385.jpg

And to a lesser extent:

Fiero GT with all sorts of ducting coming out of it.
P6072386.jpg

And the first three door Astra I've seen state side.
P6072383.jpg

First off, let me just apologize for releasing these two sightings into the thread. Truly, I'm sorry for disgracing it with ugly.

magnum_cover-060708.jpg

612_scaglietti-060708.jpg

The question now is... which is worse?

Explain what the first one is,
It appears to be a pretty standard Dodge Magnum, except with some incredibly strange cover placed over the rear wheels. WTF?

and why the second is ugly.

Looks good from that angle, right?

And then it all falls apart here:

612_scaglietti-060708-3.jpg

Truly one of the worst rear three-quarter looks of ANY vehicle EVER built.

That cover looks rather cool - and if not, at least inoffensive. The Magnum itself is ugly, though.

As for the 612, I'm no Ferrari fan myself, but I've seen worse.

As Clarkson said, try driving one and your opinion will change

'you have a good car
you have a great car
you have the best car
and then you have the 612 Scaglietti"

Seems like the Magnum owner is trying to improve his/her gas milage, and why not do it with a bit of style. I think it looks quite fun!

As for the 612, I'm no Ferrari fan myself, but I've seen worse.

I honestly believe that the only worse car for sale presently is the Maserati GranTurismo - and I further honestly believe that it is among the ugliest cars ever built.

Where you working? What's the new car going to be?

This past semester was my last at the University of Oklahoma and I graduated with a degree in civil engineering; I will be working for a private engineering firm in (nearly) downtown Oklahoma City.

And I have not really decided on any car just yet. I want to take the time and go look at a bunch of different vehicles; though, I have been thinking about something like a Honda S2000 or Nissan 350Z. Whatever I end up deciding upon will likely be a few years used and it will be a few months down the road before I really seriously look at buying anything; at least give myself enough time to save some money for a decent down payment.

I have thought about making a thread so everyone could help give me some ideas, but have not really taken the time to do it. I wanted to do some looking around first before I do that.

We're looking in the same class - though I'm still a bit away from a new car, and I'm more G35/IS350-focused, but I've considered the 350Z too.

I didn't know you had gotten a job - congrats! Are you going to go back to grad school some day? (have you considered getting the F out of Oklahoma? :D)

Holdenhsvgtr
Yeah he should have fitted a set to the front aswell.

 Always the best

I have also thought about a G35 as a car to look at. The IS350 has pretty much been ruled out because of no standard transmission. One of my requirements, though not completely necessary (but pretty close), is the car has to have a standard transmission. My first car was a standard, my second an automatic, and the 3kGT is an automatic. So I am ready for another standard and it does not help that I really miss driving a standard.

Thanks! 👍 I have been working for this firm for the past three summers and two Christmas breaks. They have been wanting me to start working for them for a while now; but I decided it was a better idea to take a month off after graduation (and it has been awesome!).

Right now, I do not plan on going to grad school. I am a bit tired of school at the moment and would like to have some money in my wallet for a change. Plus, the difference in having a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering is not much and I would likely not be able to make up the money lost by staying in school for an additional year. (It is also nice to have an uncle in the business who can advise me on what to do.)

I have thought about leaving Oklahoma, but a good majority of my family lives here and I do not have much outside of them. So leaving them behind would be difficult.

Not even close :odd:

I considered the idea, then reminded myself that it's a Magnum, not some Civic with tons of paper-maché.

I thought the Magnum looked like it was trying to improve the aerodynamics. As for the Civic, I've read the whole thread on the fuel saving website the owner details his modifications, and whilst it isn't exactly factory the ideas he's had are quite impressive. It seems unfair that people criticise him for what he's done to the car.

What have I seen today? The following:

Lotus Elan

Bentley Arnage
n61206378_37572306_473.jpg

Austin 7 race car
n61206378_37572295_7504.jpg

Fraser-Nash BMW 328
n61206378_37572305_237.jpg

Brabham
n61206378_37572318_3561.jpg

Etc etc... went to a hillclimb

It’s a bit awkward, but it actually sort of works, since the Magnum already has a 1950s Hudson look to it, so the covered wheel well fits right in with that theme.

OMFG, we agree on a car’s styling! I hate the Scag’s styling so much – I don’t think there’s a single body panel on that car that I like.

I don't hate the Scag, I think it has character and I'd love to own one. Personally I think it would have looked far better with longer front and shorter rear overhangs, front wheels closer to the windscreen, larger wheels and black plastic headlight clusters...

I have also thought about a G35 as a car to look at. The IS350 has pretty much been ruled out because of no standard transmission.

Understood. One of my requirements is an automatic, so I'm off the S2000 and on the G35/IS (slash CTS if I could afford it!) bus. I think it'd be kind of stupid/tool/loser to get the 350Z in automatic so I probably will end up without a Z... but man they're cool.

Right now, I do not plan on going to grad school. I am a bit tired of school at the moment and would like to have some money in my wallet for a change. Man I know what you mean about being tired of school, and if the different really isn't that significant then maybe it's not the best idea, but it'd be a shame if you found out 20 years down the road that there's a glass ceiling for people without master's degrees... ya know? Food for thought I guess.

I have thought about leaving Oklahoma, but a good majority of my family lives here and I do not have much outside of them. So leaving them behind would be difficult.

My most recent experience with Oklahoma is this:

104mph_average-050908.jpg

The speed in the middle, right below the temperature? That is an AVERAGE. I had reset that average some time earlier.

I love that P-Shop. Unlike you Sage I don't hate EVERY panel, but the front half of the car is, to me, absolutely awful. Rue's 612M (:D) is much nicer, but as I continue to look at it it looks a bit bland... perhaps the regular 612 (which I should call the 612 LWB) DOES have character after all... but I'd take bland and good-looking (Mazda 6) over weird-looking with character (Suzuki X-90) all day long.

Understood. One of my requirements is an automatic.
Is there any other reason than not knowing how to drive manual for this criteria?

If that's the only real reason, that's a really bad excuse IMO. The small amount of time it takes to learn is greatly outnumbered by the benefits.

Just my 2 cents. (no-one says that anymore)

although I would take a manual any day, this has been treaded and retreaded again and again with M5, and I don't even think it's a matter of not knowing how to drive stick, I think it's just a matter of not wanting to. So why mention it again and again?
