Really? It's probably my least favourite Ferrari ever. I just think that it's so badly proportioned with too high a waistline for the size of the wheel arches and the bonnet/hood is just that little bit too long

if you look at the side profiles of the various Ferraris on this page its the 275 GTB that stands out for me as being the dumpiest looking of them all. It comes down to personal taste though at the end of the day.

Just the Zonda and the CC8S I saw last week parked next to it then. that's an expensive trio.

Shame I couldn't get these two in the same shot. I've put my back out and I couldn't move fast enough

I am postponing my car-spotting for the time being due to injuring my back in a mysterious way. Right now I'm pretty much bed-ridden until it heals, but it feels like that won't be for a few days at least.

What you need to do is get yourself a really huge lens and position your bed near to the window. :sly:

Thanks, the Super Beetle is rare here, it was never sold officialy, tough some of them made trough the north US border, and so was the ragtop Rabbit, never sold here but there are quite a lot... still rare to see, but not as much as a Super Beetle.

The Tempo is weeeeird, never seen one before (:

And in the Mustang and Volvo 1800 post, where the heck are the pictures of all the other cool old cars in that shop? heck man, snap everything there! I see karmans, an old 30s car (wth is that?) and a Peugeot 205! snaps!

Some pics from the repair shop.

Rolls Royce,450 SL,BMW 850,Mustang,old SL 300,Studebaker and some other cars.
I hope you like some of them.
The owner said,it's only because I know you that I let you take pictures inside the garage.:)

Was going to post a photo of a Vauxhall VX220 with the numberplate "VX220 ??" or something like that. Sadly the photo doesn't show the numberplate well enough, and a VX220 isn't all too special.

I saw an MB SLR on its way into Toronto on the 427 on Friday afternoon, just about got off on the next ramp and U turned to chase him down and get a better look. It looks sooooo much better in real life (which says alot).

Today had only one spot: a Camaro convertible
camaro1.jpg
couldn't really get a good photo without entering the facility
camaro2.jpg
though the side was a cinch.

The others are older, order isn't chronological.
An AW11, quite a rarity here

Impreza (STi? Or just a lookalike?)
imprezafu8.jpg

RX-8, a rarity here as well

I snuck out of the school's sports day and found these two: Alfa 156 with cage (thought it could be a track car, but overall it seems pretty... stock)
alfa1ob8.jpg

alfa2gp3.jpg

alfa3lm3.jpg

Impreza STi. My first STi spot of that gen ever.

And a...Rolls? Don't know what this huge thing is.

CL63 AMG. Wanted to take a pic of the rear and a pic from a farther distance, but didn't really have the chance. What a beast!

Missed spots? Current gen Mustang convertible with Shelby badging, orange, gray stripes.

Saw this yesterday when we stopped at "The Mountain House" on Skyline Blvd for a drink on our way back from Big Sur. Not particularly special, but pretty rare Panoz Roadster.

I went on a nice little trip to London today and saw the following, but without photographic proof;
-2 x Black Lamborghini Murcielagos within 30 seconds of each other in Knightsbridge
-Ferrari 360 in SW1
-Mustang (not sure what model, but an old one) at Earls Court
-Aston DB9 (Also in Knightsbridge)
-Aston Vanquish
and then this, which pulled up in this position where I was sat. I didn't have to move an inch to take this photo;

@ Wing_0

That Alfa could be an ex-track car, looking at it, that someone's put road wheels back on. The cage, spoiler and bonnet pins look very like the Alfa super production race cars, which are basically modified road cars and very close to standard:

 What about the 288 GTO? I thought that was your personal favorite car!
BTW do note the 275 GTB was "only" a 2-cam, not the 275GTB/4 which is the much more valued collector version. Still a crazy car, still worth north of $200k (I believe) but not the same beast the 4-cam is.

TheCracker

You're aware that page contains a Mondial Coupe? :D

For the record, I agree with The Cracker. I hate to because it seems like sacrilege, but I've never cared for the 275 GTB's styling. Seminal car, very important, and a favorite sighting of mine for sure, which is why I more agree with Rue than The Cracker, but from a purely stylistic perspective the car is actually a bit boring.

I think I may have been rather caught up in the moment, thinking it was a GTB/4. Looks-wise very similar, apart from the front grill. Between that and a 288 GTO the winner of the title of 'myfavourite car' is too close to call.

What's odd is that even though the 4-cam is the more revered collector's model, 280 4-cams were made, versus just 174 2-cams - and the 2-cam's performance wasn't that far off the 4-cam's. It all comes down to styling, I suppose.

That does not sound like any fun. ๐Ÿ‘Ž Good luck on recovery! ๐Ÿ‘

There is a lot of cars that look a lot better when you see them in person. I think the Bentley Continental GT is a leaps and bounds much better looking in person, while in picture it just looks very odd :odd:, overly large, and wierdly proportioned. Still not one of the particularly better looking cars to me, but much better looking in person.

Now that...that is a beautiful photo.

BTW harrytuttle: Upper Hook Road & Girdle Ridge Road Katonah NY. No big secret who lives there. Between the owner of that property and one of his neighbors, there are five McLaren F1s registered on that block. Have a look. :)

Good god, that's so familiar...no, don't tell me. I'll just go first chance I get. Five, you say? Buh-nanners. Simply buh-nanners.

A rare photoless post from harrytuttle!

I expect an F50 in the next one.

A request? Sure -- oh crap!

I'm really trying to improve things with my photography. I know every shot can't be the breadwinner, but I'm coming home with 20 or 30 shots and turn up with maybe 3 or 4 photos worth keeping, and usually only one or two that I'm totally satisfied with.

For instance, I just caught this Gallardo in the rain today. I took a couple minutes to snap some shots, but only these three were interesting, and the last one is the only one I actually like. I think if I had more time to set up and think about things, I would've come up with more material. I definitely was kicking myself when browsing through the raw photos for not snapping specific angles that I didn't see in the few minutes I had with the car before having to catch my streetcar.

and unusual!

edit - forgot to mention the dumb mirrors on the red Gallardo (probably the most amazing colour ever... holy mackerel that was such a gorgeous deep red) but I am all for photographing stranger's cars as much as I want in public, but touching is out of the question. While I was snapping, three guys (guys, not men, they looked late 20s) walked by, politely holding on obstructing my shot, then asking if it was my car. I replied with the cute "I wish!" They chuckle, and as they walked by, one of them grabs a set of keys out of his pocket and blips the Lamborghini's alarm. I guess a cute little "I'm flattered, but hands off."

:D Great story.

Good photos too!! I like the shot from the rear!

So, I was bored at work and decided to grab the camera and drive around at lunch.
