Im speechless. You need to become a professional or something. +1 for you sir

Today had only one spot: a Camaro convertible
camaro1.jpg
couldn't really get a good photo without entering the facility

though the side was a cinch.

That'd be a 1988-1990 IROC right there. Nice spot, infact the best thing in this thread in the last 100 pages or so. :sly:

That first shot in particular is nearly perfect.

Great composition, lighting, water effects, and while not set up, it might as well have been, as the buildings that help frame the picture and even the SUV off to the left all compliment the unique color of that Gallardo and the light gray tones from the glass and headlights. 👍

Even if you don't want to work for a magazine, you may seriously consider putting together a portfolio, and making some business cards, and next time you shoot a car, attempt to find out who the owner is and show them your work, and offer, for a fee, to do a professional photo shoot for them.

I know several owners of some very expensive automobiles, and they all love to get professional photos of their cars, and have been known to pay a pretty penny or two for top quality photos.

Seriously. I've seen many of the photos they take, and yours are just as good, if not better, considering you don't have the luxury of setting up the precise conditions, as one can do in a proper photo shoot.

In fact, if you find yourself visiting Texas, shoot me a PM. 👍

From the past couple of days:

The first new G-car I've seen on the road, I don't know if it's people just not buying them around here or that I simply just don't notice them at all. It's not particularly bad looking but just kind of another "meh" saloon car.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage Convertible, quickly becoming a popular car among the rich in Birmingham. The guy driving, who couldn't have been 30, saw me take the picture and gave me a "rock on" hand signal. After the Mercedes made the Michigan left, he gave it the beans taking off from the stop sign. The noise was unholy and I was left fairly impressed.

New G8, fun that more people aren't seeing these. The dealer near work this afternoon had at least 15 on the lot, if not more in the back and there was a truck off loading another full load of them. Do they just not sell?

BMW Z8, I rarely saw these a couple years ago, now they are everywhere.

You're aware these have been out for a year and a half? Hell I drove one a year ago!!! BTW - if you think it's a "meh" sedan - DRIVE. IT. I spent 20 minutes in one a year ago and am already pricing used models. One of the best.

Wow a year and a half? I guess no one around here buys them. And I was saying more "meh" to the styling. I have to believe that the car itself drives amazingly. A buddy of mine's mom had an older G35 and I drove it on a couple occasions and loved it.

We seem to live in completely different countries. The new G is common as dirt here – even the G37 coupe (actually, if you’re just counting students, I bet there are more G coupes than sedans). Conversely, I’ve never seen a new Challenger or Pontiac G8. Oh, and, I actually get really excited when I see a new Dodge Caravan, because I’ve seen, like, five in total.

I see dozens of new G's each day... sedans much more than coupes, though. Maybe a G8 every two weeks? I've never seen a Challenger.

Grand Caravans are everywhere though Sage. Open your eyes. :D

I saw a G8 last night in Plano. The new G is everywhere, I see at least one a day give or take. Definately looking better and better.

*edit*
Last night was a carshow in Plano and I saw my FIFTH new M5 within 24 hours. Oh and for a treat there was an R33 GT-R--my favorite Skyline. I saw and touched one in person...i literally had goosebumps meeting my hero in person. The R34 I saw in Plano years ago didn't give me that feeling.

It is funny how different areas produce such different things. I probably see 4 or 5 Challengers a day and rarely think twice about it. Today alone I probably saw 6 Z06's both in C5 and C6 flavours.

A question though, how many of you have seen Saturn Astras? The three door isn't real popular but I see the five door everywhere. Same goes for the new Vibe.

Today....

Something about this GT3 didnt look quite right to me

And while this isnt exactly something "good", i thought it was interesting

Lucky SOB. :grumpy: We have 4-5 Skylines though, in the surrounding area.

Thanks a lot. I'm still not totally comfortable with setting up and shooting a couple dozen pictures when I know I have to produce let's say 15 poster-quality photos for a client. I have my favorite pictures on my flickr page, and if any potential clients come across it, I'm easily contactable. I was thinking of slipping a little "business card" (pretty much just the flickr site if I liked their car) where they can go to see their car if nothing more. I'd like to do shots for people, and support and compliments like yours push me to produce more work (although I'm not planning on being in Texas any time soon) 👍

The Lamborghini Gallardo pictures are all really good. It is neat seeing a supercar in the rain like that, trying to almost look like a normal car. Very nice job! 👍

Thanks a lot!

So today I left work a little early in hopes of finding something to shoot, as I know I pass a nice M3 from time to time. Fortunately the M3 was there, so I grabbed the shot I was looking for. The unfortunate bit is that I was then a little later than I wanted for work and I happened to find another Lamborghini to shoot, this time a screaming loud orange Gallardo SE. The guy pulled by me and I grabbed one photo. I know the overediting is daft on a pretty boring shot, but I'm trying to go for that darker look, which is harder than I thought. The orange shot is more for this thread and not for photographic value.

Again, thanks for the kind words.

Just to join the others with their positive comments. I love those pics of the burgundy G Exigeracer especially the 3rd one. Really, superb stuff! Don't know how you manage to maintain the nice car to great photo ratio!

Saw this on the way to the quacks...

...and this (or exactly the same thing, colour and all) but didn't get a photo - a ruined RX-7 from some cheesy movie...

Ugh!

As some of you know, I'm out the DYSAGT picture for a while as I've done my back in pretty badly. In order to maintain my sanity, I'm going to add all my older car spots to my photobucket (see sig.) and if any interesting that you haven't seen before ones pop up I'll post them here if that's ok with you guys.

First off. What model of Bentley Turbo is this? It has bonnet scoops and a badge behind the front wheelarch. It's not an R or an RT or even an RL. Any ideas?

is it CS2 compatible?

It's standalone, I have no clue if it comes with CS3 these days, but I run it and I don't have any other Adobe product. Give it a whirl.

Honnestly though, it's no secret that post-production is so rampant. You'd be hard-pressed to find any automotive photographer who started out on digital who doesn't use PP. Magazine shots without Photoshop? Pretty hard...

Yes. Did you see the whole car or just the rear?

Thanks Turbz.👍
No,I saw the whole car.

Today.

Lotus Elise.

Carrera S.

And spot of the day.

She parked the car at the same house where I saw that white R8 last Saturday.
My third R8.The first I saw was at 05/05/'08.

Ya, I know... I use Photomatix a lot, both for work and my personal pics. It's pretty simple and the results are amazing. I'll give Lightroom a try.
