No, it was not a joke post. I provided proof for the Javelin, I can't for these as they arent' my cars and I didnt have a camera.

It was Beverly Hills. Come on.

I'm going to bring in a post I made on thecarforum.net, and basically save myself some time (this time I have pictures!)

Today I went into Boston to watch a Red Sox game against the New York Yankees, and well, let's just say my pictures are better than the Sox' performance...Especially Josh Beckett. 9 walks. Wow.

Alright I'm back from the game, with pictures! But the Red Sox got destroyed. 5-13, Yankees

Anyway, I found myself overwhelmed by BMW's and Mercedes's in Boston, so I had to look past the German sedans (but I still did get a few nice ones)

Most of the pictures were taken on the fly, so the quality/angles could be better.

Let's begin:

I saw this Cooper S in boston at a red light, thought it looked kinda interesting.

Saw this white Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII on the highway, very rare around here.

Also saw a Cadillac SRX, not too common.

A Mercedes-Benz R350, brand new as far as I've heard.

I saw a few Audi hatches, but I only got this one A6 3.0 Quattro. Pretty decent car.

Another Mercedes-Benz, this time a 90's SL500 at a Getty gas station. Expensive!

A Mercedes-benz SLK 230 Kompressor. I told you they were everywhere!

I think this is a BMW 745i, not sure though. Looks cool!

But the highlight of my day was when I saw the players' cars after the game. I had limited battery left, so I squeezed most of them into one shot, but then again, everything has exceptions...

There's 2 Hummer H2 SUT's in this one (right side), a Nissan Pathfinder (left), a GMC Denali (bottom left) and a Land Rover Range Rover(bottom right). I think the white H2 is Big Papi's.

This was the highlight of my day (other than the game and Manny's 3 run homer). A white Maserati Quattroporte. I would have taken more pictures of it, but there were just too many people behind us to stall any longer. I need to get one of these

I also saw on the way home a Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible (not lying), but my battery died :banghead:

Well, that was my day trip to Boston. Pretty sweet, but I didn't get any souveneirs. Dang. Oh well, there's always next year!

I'm defineatley going to take my camera with me everywhere I go. I can't believe I saw a Maserati. I'll keep the pictures coming.

I've been meaning to post these here, but haven't gotten around to it in my busy unemployed life. I was in Paris in June, and here are some cars I spotted there.

Fantastic shots - rep given and deserved. Why no pic of the Phantom next to the Carrera GT?! :D

It was Beverly Hills. Come on.

I actually believe you and if the people criticizing you had been to Beverly Hills they would believe you as well - but that's not our problem - it's that anyone can post what they saw - we want to SEE it!

TODAY:

ahl-3.jpg

August 19, 2006 - Denver, Colo.

Not a bad day at all. It's raining right now though so I don't think any decent cars will be out this evening, which sucks because it's my last Saturday in Denver. :( Oh well - Atlanta will surely provide me with years of great sightings as well.

I also saw a Saleen SR, S281-E, and Mustang Cobra R SVT in Beverly Hills. And a Quattroporte

I seem to remember the Mustang SVT Cobra R being limited to just about 100 or so made, that said its not completely out of the question, but it certainly would be great if you had a picture to prove it. :)

Samj, your 745 is actually an E39 5 Series.:)

Hmm... I'm pretty sure it was some kind of 7 series. I saw the back of it too and I'm pretty sure it said 745i. Well, you obviously know more about it than I do, so I'll take your word.

Sat at A&W for 2 hours and kept a record of cool/rare cars that passed by.

1964 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible, red.
3 BMW M3 Convertibles.
3 Mercedes B200 Turbos....
1 Mercedes R350.
1 Nissan Bluebird.
1 Chevrolet El Camino.
1 Dodge Rampage.
1 Black Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06
2 Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T.
1 Nissan Altima SE-R.
1 C3 Stingray, Yellow.
1 Chevrolet Malibu 350ci, dark green.
1 Nissan Skyline, R32 bodied.
1 Dodge Neon SRT-4.

-and-

Lamborghini Gallardo, silver.

Actually, you may be right. It's the angle of the picture that gives it a 5-series look.

That, my friends, IS in fact a 5-Series. It's not quite as big, and a little curvier than a 7. Plus, those rims are unique to the 5.

I will try to get you pictures of Cary Grant's Rolls, but I am not going back to Beverly Hills anytime soon. Sorry.

But how come no one complained when I posted up a Ford GT, but no pics? :odd:

You mean this one? :D

A few more of the Carrera GT

:D

Thanks for the shots of the Rolls, and, more importantly, for those of the Carrera GT. My personal favorite supercar and, yes, in my favorite color scheme.

*McLaren*

You were right of course - it's an E39 540i. :D

Saw some good ones today, but only one worth taking a picture of.

Ironic - two yellow Carrera GTs in one thread page! (then again, Diego's were taken a while ago) Rep for you too my man - thanks for the pics - looks best in yellow!

(by the way, that's the dumbest license plate I've ever seen on any car. "BYEENZO" would make sense, but "BY ENZO" makes it seem like it was manufactured BY Enzo, or Ferrari - does anyone else agree?)

GT4_Rule
1 Dodge Rampage.

Hell yes! Definitely rarer than that silver Gallardo. True props if you can find an '83 Plymouth Scamp, though - do that and I'll personally send you $20. Says Wikipedia: "The Plymouth Scamp was only sold in 1983, making it a collector's item." Yeah, if you collect ****, it's a must-have!

I'm quite sure the wheels on that vehicle - or at least the wheel design - were used on not only the E39 540, but also the period Z3. The picture you posted is off by a bit - it's quite newer than the one in the other photo (check the turn signal covers), and it's a 530i, not a 540i, like the one pictured. In essence you're right though. :)

Perhaps he had it on a Ferrari beforehand...

Tonight...

Wrong 5-Series.

That's a 530i with a Sport PKG. As M5 said, the car in question was a 540i as I suspected the first time.

530i with sport PKG.

I know, I kept searching for '5 series' and found that it was a 540i, but I couldnt find the EXACT model.
I also remember them on the Z3
Thanks:)

Oh and what I meant by this model was this generation, the e39s. sorry if i confused anyone.

When I was out of town I saw a orange lotus elise, E30 M3 convertable and a Yukon GT.

Yukon GT is a real vehicle from GMC. I've only read of a 1994-1995 production run. Very rare apparently.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of weird, too.

Slow day today:

Well the Elise probably was. :D

I presume you're referring to the Yukon GT though. Basically what that was was a 2-door version of the first-generation Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Those two vehicles didn't debut until 1995, but they were based on the Chevrolet and GMC Suburban, which debuted in 1992. Originally General Motors thought there'd only be a market for the Suburbans, plus the two-door models: Chevrolet's was called the Blazer, and GMC's the Yukon. In 1995, four-door models were debuted, called the Tahoe and Yukon - names that exist to this day. Of course, the four-door models gained extreme popularity, the two-door ones were soon dropped.

To my knowledge, the Yukon GT, which was intended to be a "sporty" version of the two-door model, was made from 1993 to 1997 but is quite a rare option package, though I have seen several - all were black with red lettering on the side (thinking about it, I think I may have seen a silver one once).

TODAY was a lovely Sunday in Denver, and produced leagues of extraordinary vehicles, but particularly this one:

ahm-f355s.jpg

ahm-f3552.jpg

August 20, 2006 - Denver, Colo.

The vehicle came up behind me at a light. As I was sitting there getting my camera ready to photograph the black F355, I looked closer and said out loud (to myself), "is that thing BLUE?" I don't know that I've ever seen a blue Ferrari before, and alas it wasn't much of a color on the F355, though it sounded wonderful and I was able to drive next to it for some time. The vehicle was being driven by a man in his sixties and a slightly younger woman was seated next to him. Plates indicate a late 2000 or early 2001 purchase (car was cancelled in 1998).

Other sightings were pretty fantastic:

The SL65 was actually photographed yesterday, the 19th, and the two Bentleys were within fifty feet of one another. :D

Nice pics Doug. I have yet to see an SL65... How about that for a coincidence. That E-Type was in the Jaguar showroom yesterday. I don't usually put showroom pics in the thread, but seeing as you saw it's long lost brother, I've stuck it in here!

Saturday afternoon and evening...

The Mark-II looks boring, but is based on the same platform as the Chaser, which means twin turbo engine good for 280ps in standard guise...

19aug01ne8.jpg

That Ferrari 575M Superamerica is one of only 559 cars in the world and the MR-2 gets a spot because it's very rare to see that model here (probably all been crashed)

It's the first time I've ever seen a 996 Turbo in red...

19aug04lh3.jpg

Cheeky plate on the Infiniti...

I'm pretty sure that white must be one of the rarer colours for a Mercedes SL which is why the photo's here...

2005 Blue Roush Mustang

Man it was nice. Talked to the driver and he said he just came back from a car show where he took 1st place for something.

Oh yeah I also saw a Yellow Lotus Elise. Man I wish I could have gotten a better look but yet again it was headed in the opposite direction from the way I was headed. Just like that Ferrari I saw last week.

Chaser_fan, where do you live in Japan, because of all the Toyotas that would be Lexuses in the US and the Skyline that you see (and maybe because of all the symbols on thhe pavement)? Those are some awesome pictures, my favorite is the 996 Turbo, it is gorgeous. Great ones!

Yes, I live in Hong Kong. Many of the cars we get here are imports from Japan. The official cars we have are very similar to the UK. So all the good stuff we get is grey. The RRP price of the official cars is very expensive, but to import a car from another country is cheap.

I went out today and in the hour that I spent taking pics got a whole shedload. Will post shortly...

Ah ok, must be sweet to see all those cars every day.

Yes, it is. This is all of an hour and a quarter's work...
